It’s pretty good but I don’t understand the concept. I don’t want my food smashed, least of all a burger. You really don’t have to anything extraordinary to make a cheeseburger good.

Food was amazing, service was not. We came around 9:30 and the woman working would not stop making comments and rolling her eyes about how close to close we came in(they close at 10). She even said«I’m gonna start mopping before I shoot myself» which I thought was very uncalled for. We have been in at this time before and the staff is usually amazing. I have never seen this woman before and I hope she’s not there the next time I come in.

Stopped there tonight and was extremely impressed by the service I received at the register. Lisa is amazing; very friendly, efficient and went above and beyond to make sure I walked away completely happy with my order(even though I made things pretty complicated for her). I haven’t seen that kind of personal approach to customer service in a long time!

I’m sorry but I have ate here way too many times and never have been thrilled. Let me start by saying I never get burgers that often but I live so close and I can get a buy one get one free entrée coupons on the back of sliver lake cub receipts so I go. Always get the black bean burger because I’m a vegetarian ! Well the last few times I have went they have messed up my order from the bun, to toppings, and sauce. Also on the bottom of the receipt from them if u do a survey next time u r their u can get free fries. Well same guy who has messed up my order throws it so I don’t get my fries for free. And I get sick and stomach and(tmi but gas) when I eat the burger or when I eat the fries just alone ! My cousins said she has had only bad experiences their ! Said she gets the same symptoms ! My uncle says the food is crap! Try the malt shop for malts and ok burgers

Name is cool and catchy. Smashing a patio probably not the best thing for the burger since it takes the juice out and makes the burger pretty dry. That’s what happened here. Also the fries are average too. Not anything special, just an average.

We came here for a quick burger. At least we got that. The cashier seemed distracted or bored. I felt as if I was interrupting a personal moment as she considered the wallpaper. Somehow I managed to communicate that I wanted to order dinner and our visit proceeded. It was a nice day, so we thought we’d eat outside. If we could have found an empty table we would have. Not that all the seats were full. All the tables but one hosted a variety of dirty utensils, plates and glassware. The lone occupant of the patio was quietly consuming his food at the other one. Were they busy? Not that I could see. Three total customers in the place. At least three employees. Our food arrived quickly(about 3 minutes). The burgers are decent enough, but the fries were got were just lame. Too thin, cold, and poorly seasoned. They just aren’t worth getting. I thought Smashburger cooked there food to order. The website says«Our handcrafted burgers are smashed, seared and seasoned to order, using our fresh, never frozen 100% Certified Angus Beef®.». Apparently you can do that in 3 minutes. Will I come back? There’s always a chance, just not a big one.

Went back a a couple weeks ago to grab my daughter dinner. Very poor customer service, the cashier and cook were very rude. She shouted at the cook to behave and to warn him that customers were coming. When we got up to the counter, he appeared to glare at us and cashier didn’t even welcome us. I almost left but it was late and my daughter just wanted a burger. She said the food was terrible and to never take her back. She isn’t that picky either.

This location consistently gets orders wrong. You’d think for the price you pay, they could at least achieve the same level of service as McDonald’s. You’ll save about half as much by going to Culver’s down the block — their burgers are also tasty and your order will more likely arrive error free.

Just awful. First and last time eating at a smash burger. 1. They got my order wrong, which wasn’t a huge deal since I could scrape the onions off. 2. The burger was mediocre at best. Tasted like a McDonald’s caliber burger. My girlfriend had the black bean veggie burger, which was apparently one of the worst she has ever had. 3. To top it all off, I had to head immediately to the restroom when I got home because the food made me ill. Conclusion: Stay away. Plenty of other food options.

Smashburger’s food isn’t bad, but I would avoid this particular one. It seems like they have training issues with the registers. The last time I went, I had to scan my credit card a second time because the cashier said it didn’t read it the first time. I noticed on my CC’s website a few days later that I had been charged twice that day, for two different amounts. I called the store to ask what might have happened and was told I’d receive a call back from the general manager, but never did. It’s not a lot of money and the CC company will reverse it anyway, but honestly — who needs the hassle?

Went here yesterday and ordered food to go. As we sat down and waited for said food, we quickly regretted doing so. It was dirtier than a toilet seat. There was caked on crud and dust underneath the gnat infested soda fountain. As well as garbage and random food bits scattered across the floor and underneath the cabinets. The place was dead… so we were curious as to why no one was tending to the nastiness… After discovering the grossness of the establishment, we were quite frightened as to what this food would do to our insides. None the less… I experienced several violent bowel movements shortly there after and am still recovering. Hopefully they will clean up their act and no one else will experience this travesty that has come to my toilet bowl.

Groupon lead me here with a great deal. The food was pretty good. Everything tasted fresh and like a burger place should. No complaints.

Burgers are good, but don’t ever, ever order a to-go salad. They totally skimp you on greens and never deliver the appropriate salad. The first time they gave me the wrong salad entirely. The second time, a month later, they forgot the cheese on the spinach goat cheese salad. Both salads were less than half full of greens and other ingredients. Next time, I’ll just go for a calorie-loaded burger.

It’s a burger joint. My expectations weren’t high. But the burgers are nothing short of delicious, the sides are excellent, and the service was actually great. The person who took our order was very patient and courteous and checked in on us later to see how the meal was going. I would definitely go back again.

This was my first time here and it was a Groupon meal, great way to experience new digs. I selected the Avocado Club with avocado, applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, ranch dressing and mayo on a multi-grain bun. I also got the onion stack and an ICB root beer. Service was fast but there wasn’t anyone in front of us. The food was hot with a decent presentation. The food was ok for a quasi-fast food burger. The burger was too salty but I thought the multigrain bun was a good touch even though it was too big for the meat. I’m thinking they use the same bun for the three different size burgers. The onion stack didn’t have much taste, average at best. Don’t think I’d be back, Groupon or not.

Smashburger has a lot going for it, but after my last visit, I can’t keep going back. We ordered three burgers, paid and left. Each burger was in a bag with a label, so we thought we got everything as ordered. When we got home, we realized just about every ingredient was messed up. The chicken for one sandwich was placed in a box with the avocado for another sandwich. The mushroom and swiss burger, which should have been with the avocado, came with a bun(it was ordered as ‘no bun’) with all the condiments of the All-American burger. The grilled chicken burger was made with a beef patty(Duh, the chicken goes in a box by itself! Silly us). Yes, we’re kicking ourselves for not checking, but you’d think three burgers + two sides for $ 25 would buy a little competence.

The girl at SmashBurger has an awesome Minnesota accent. First person I’ve met here with one. Apparently it’s a rarity or something. Anyways, average burgers. Not too much special. Onion stack a little bit too salty. Prices not super generous. I’ll probably visit here again as I’m living within walking distance.

This is the third Smashburger I have been to and it was also my worst. I almost always get the same item — The Twin Cities Smashburger. The last time I got this it was so juicy and loaded with stuff that they warned me it was going to be messy and to make sure to keep the napkins handy. This Smashburger was actually dry and I had to add ketchup to it to eat it. I ordered my burger to go and when it was handed to me in a box in a bag it was tilted on it’s side. This worried me until I opened the burger and saw it was pretty dry. When there isn’t a lot of stuff on a burger you can put it in a box on it’s side with no fear of damage. I have to give them credit that they saw they had a line forming and called someone out to take orders at a second register. The place was clean — but I was there 15 minutes after it opened — so I would really not expect them to open their doors without being cleaned up for the day. Least favorite Smashburger. Next time I need a Smashburger fix I will head to the one on Snelling. MUCH better.

Before getting into discussions of smashing, pounding, or lassoing perishables of any kind, let us recap. The guy taking our order looked at my credit card and tittered(he did!), «Hey, this ends in 92! The year I was born!» Instant brainsplosion. What year is it now?! Since when are the Spice Girls classic rock? How do these overachieving preteens manage to work the register, breastfeed and still get home in time for Glee? Anyway, on to the food. The gentleman caller had the Twin Cities Burger,(Dennis the Menace recommended) which he said was not particularly reminiscent of the Twin Cities but wasn’t a kick in the ass, either. We didn’t order the Squishyfries, which was our bad, as the regular fries were pretty standard fare and very salty. I wound up with a mushroom swiss burger, which tasted.. . like a mushroom swiss burger. Kind of heavy on the mayo(whyfor the mayo?) and a wee overdone. So, meh. The most fascinating thing about Gooburger was that Baby Stewie not only brought our food over, Noodles and Co. style, but came back to check on us twice more before we left. Full service, and I’ll bet the poor fetus gets a tip thrown his way once a week. Life’s tough, kid. Get a helmet.

Update: 2hrs later. Have to drop it a star. I overate. Ugh. Smashburger is smashing. Best fast food I’ve had in a long time, but then again, I don’t eat much fast food. I’d like to go back, but I live no where near it, so I’ll have to wait for them to open another location closer to me. They are a chain, and this is the first in the Twin Cities. I’d classify the food is upscale fast food. Fast because it’s fast, as in served quickly and you order like you’re in a fast food restaurant. And upscale because they use high-quality ingredients like applewood smoked bacon, fresh crisp veggies, real herbs on their French fries, and Haagen Daas ice cream for their malts. They even offer veggie fries that are asparagus spears, green beans and carrots that are lightly fried. I didn’t try them though, so I can’t comment. The burgers reminded me of a malt shop burger… juicy, greasy and downright yummy. They range from 5 to 7 bucks a burger, and you’ve got a choice of 2 sizes: 1⁄3 and ½ pound.
