We ordered Soberfish via Bitesquad and we really liked our order! The cream cheese wontons are a great value. The tofu pad Thai was delicious and my husband enjoyed his hi ken pad see ew. Will order again!

The curry dishes are good(~5 stars)! The spring roll is decent too(~4 star). The shushi rolls are OK. My friend tried fried rice, but it was a bummer.

Just finished my second visit and the word we both chose to describe the experience was underwhelmed. My mate had the red curry and the broth was nice but there was a lack of veggies and some mysterious inedible items left in. I had a few happy hour rolls and the sea weed salad. The salad was fine, simple and hard the mess up. But the rolls(spicy tuna and spicy yellow tail) were strangely warm and mushy. Not appetizing and frankly and little concerning. Really wishing I had ordered an entrée instead. It was 3:00 on a Saturday so the place was fairly empty. Our server was good and attentive but that’s not enough to make up for just ok food. Happy hour prices are great but probably not enough to lure me back.

I had dinner at Soberfish last week. I was surprised when I ordered the pad thai and I asked the server what vegetables were in the dish and she said bean sprouts. That if I wanted vegetables I had to pay two dollars extra. I do not think that is right. I felt that the offer of vegetable pad thai was misleading. If people order shrimp pad thai are they required to pay extra for the shrimp? Of course not. If someone orders vegetable pad thai the price should be the one listed on the menu. The dish should contain many vegetables. I am very disappointed in this restaurant. Oh, and the papaya salad was the 2nd most disappointing I have ever had. I tried to contact the restaurant on their web-site and that link does not work! Big surprise.

Ordered the drunkard noodle and pineapple fried rice for take out tonight and was very disappointed. If you want good Thai food this is not the place to go to. The fried rice was so bland I had to add in soy sauce from home to make it edible. The noodles were broken to little pieces making it hard to pick up with a fork. So the texture was undesirable and the dish was bland as well. If you’re a Thai food enthusiast I’d stay far away. I won’t be coming back.

Tasty sushi. Delivered for lunch downtown, and did not disappoint. 3 kinds of sushi and miso soup ordered– filling lunch for 2. Not the best sushi I’ve ever eaten, but good.

Went here at 3pm had the place to myself. Of coarse the service was good since I was the only customer. I ordered off the lunch menu even though it was after 3. For $ 10 you get to pick two sushi rolls. I also had the Shrimp tempura which thank god the server suggested I get the appetizer cause I’m about to burst. This place is close by my job and I will definitely be coming back.

It was good sushi and nice Thai– but I think when a restaurant has 2 types of food usually they are just okay or good at both– the service was fine nothing amazing– if you are looking for a place where people can get multiple types of good then great choice — if you just want one type of food then I think there are other better places

Soberfish, where to begin? I was really, I mean really, impressed with their reasonable happy hour, considering they’re located in Seward. The sushi on special during happy hour is so worth the price and always made on point. The pad Thai really hits the spot and has a good balance of savory and spicy and has a pretty large helping for the happy hour price. We live around the corner, so sober fish felt like a natural to satisfy my hankering for some egg rolls and sushi. I loved the egg rolls — they were perfectly crispy and delicious, exactly what I expected. And maybe this is my own fault for getting sushi to go, but my tummy felt a little off afterwards. The service I’ve had at sober fish is always less than desired, but for the most part, my food is brought at a timely manner and correct, so… I can’t really complain.

SCAMALERT. Ordered take out there and the next day I noticed that my $ 75 bill was charged $ 90. When I called to complain they apologized and said that this was«miss rung» and that they would be refunding my $ 15. They never did and I will never order food from them ever again. I suspect the surly, hulking bartender who I had to pick up my order from– not the cashier up front which I thought was bizarre– added a $ 15 tip onto my order without my permission. As a rule, I tip generously and usually toss in a few bucks for takeout but for some reason I felt like he was rushing me so I signed the receipt and he whisked it away. The tip line was blank. So is 15 dollars really worth it, you scum bags? And then you lie to me telling me you’ll refund the 15 dollars –YOUSTOLEFROMME? Never been so disrespected, and I’ve never writer a bad review before. It’s too bad because we really enjoyed the food –75 bucks for take out duh! Was ready to be a regular customer. Hope the 15 dollars was worth it.

All The Favorites In One Spot Done Right. Love the casual chic atmosphere and the feel real neighborhood. Staff is friendly and efficient. There is a energetic buzz to the place without being overly crowded or having to wait for a table. The Penang curry is smooth and rich. Ask for added veggies for 2 $ more as it only comes with a protein and basil. Free refills on the white rice and 2 can share that dish. Sushi is fresh and creative. The noodle dishes and rice dishes are the best. Green Chicken Curry is one of the best I’ve had also. Papaya Salad is perfection! Enough for 4 to enjoy as an appetizer. Tofu appetizer and fried egg rolls are Ok. Almost forgot to mention the huge Shrimp Tempura Dinner. Enough for 2 people. Comes with 4 Shrimp and a ton of Tempura veggies. Really good. Thai Ice Tea is sweet and creamy. Got to go back and try some of the other dishes. They do a huge Bite Squad business also. Those guys were coming and going all night.

Impressive for ordering through bitesquad. I like to consider myself a bit of a Panag Curry expert and I fully approve. I added veggies cuz why not make more outta that glorious orange sauce. The sushi is great, will order again. Egg rolls were really crispy and tasty! If it helps at all, I’m majorly skeptical about bite squad orders and normally immediately have buyers remorse and spiral into the — what am I doin with my life internal chatter. Most of the time I think the food is not with the price. Happy to say I will definitely order from them again if not weekly, with absolutely no remorse. Amen. Update: I have ordered twice and it will be a winter regular for me.

Went on a Saturday for the HH sushi. Wasn’t sure of the parking so when we walked inside, I asked the hostess if we were ok to park where we were and she shrugged. Our waitress was either at the end of her long shift, or just not having a good day. My partner ordered a ginger ale and was asked for ID. Then waitress goes: wait… let me check if there’s alcohol in it. Disappeared and shows up with ginger ale. We ordered HH menu items, including Chicken Pad Thai. Waitress asked me if I wanted chicken in the pad thai. She really must have been having a rough day. The food was good, but the service was odd.

Sushi that made a grown man cry. We got there for happy hour(it was mid/late Saturday afternoon) and the rolls we were going to order at $ 15-$ 17 apiece were now $ 4.50-$ 5.50 apiece. Also, who makes happy hour a late Saturday afternoon thang? In-touch business owners, that’s who. So we ordered four rounds, two apps, four rolls and mango sticky rice for dessert(which came to $ 82 before tip. Don’t judge our consumption. You don’t know us). But the thing was, this wasn’t a bargain place. The sushi was, in texture, temperature and composition, among the best we’ve ever had. And we’ve had sushi. My husband said that it renewed his soul. Not kidding. The sushi chef, owner(who was not too good to bus our dang table), server and host were all delightful and attentive. We live six blocks away and for that I am thankful. This is our new dinner spot.

We had dinner here on 10/19, according to our bill our server’s name was Chong, she was excellent! After some pretty horrible service here I’m glad Sober Fish is getting more particular about who they hire. The food is good but not the best Thai or Japanese food in the city, but I am very happy to have them in they neighborhood and will continue to patronize this restaurant. PS They have a great Happy Hour!

I’ve never been for anything but happy hour, but the daily happy hour is very good! Sober Fish is a great place to go grab a few drinks and some good Thai and sushi in the Seward neighborhood. The happy hour includes several spicy rolls(like spicy yellowtail, spicy salmon, spicy tuna, dynamite) and then a few not-so-spicy rolls(think salmon skin, California, caterpillar, crunchy, etc.) They don’t have any nigiri or sashimi on special. They also have some standard Thai entrees options, such as pad Thai, green curry, etc. it’s all pretty good, and you really can’t complain about less than $ 8 for Thai food! I’ve always been sharing with people so I haven’t ever tried to push the envelope on spice, but it has good flavors regardless. They also have some good appetizers, my go-tos always being spring rolls and gyoza. You can eat end up eating a lot of food so watch out! I almost always leave feeling very full, but I can’t stop ordering at those prices! Last word of advice: get a Chang beer. That was all I drank in Thailand.

My experience with service here was similar to Keith S., and maybe even a little worse. We came in at lunch time, a large group of us from work. Maybe 8 at the table. It was a reservation. The waitress did bring water. Ordered tea. Another person came, another water. Asked about tea and an appetizer. Still waiting. Ordered food, more waiting. My boss ordered a bottle of wine. No wine was brought. Finally, finally a couple of us went up and explained if we could not get our food in the next five minutes, we all had to pay and leave. Cold food was served, the wine, apps, etc never came out. My boss felt they were understaffed, but I felt there was more going on here. Honestly, I left there feeling like they did not want us there for some reason. Maybe we did not meet some hipster quota they think they are going for? Good luck with that in this neighborhood. I come from Seward and love it, but take THAT nonsense to Uptown please. Weird, weird experience. I will not be back.

Gotta be honest with myself here. I probably wouldn’t come back. Friday night. 9:30pm. It’s about half full. Get seated right away. Get waters quickly… then we wait. Numerous servers are coming and going or standing around talking to each other. We wait. Our server comes up and asks us if we’re ready. We want booze. We want fish. Yes, we’re ready. She takes our drink orders and walks away before we had a chance to order food. Far too long to make a martini later… She’s back. We order three apps and two rolls. Food comes out fairly quickly… except everything comes at once. Would have liked to have the apps as, ya know, appetizers. Edamame: Hard to screw up. It was fine. Veggie eggrolls: looked and tasted like something out of a grocery store freezer. Tuna tataki: Little strong on the sauce but it was pretty good. Spicy tuna roll & Crunchy roll: Really the same for both. Not bad, but just not great either. Very bland tasting. Overall atmosphere of the place is pretty nice. Casual and comfortable. Nice little bar area. Wasn’t a huge fan of the specific table that we were seated at but that felt like more of an exception to the rest of the space. Bottom line, between lackluster service and lackluster fish, there are plenty of other options. Saving grace: 9pm daily HH.

Finally made it here and so glad we did! Food was amazing and I can’t wait to go back and try a bunch of other things on the menu that I couldn’t possibly squeeze in in one sitting! I had the drunkards noodles which is my fave thai noodle dish and it was definitely top notch. The fish cakes were also quite baller
