Split Rock is connected with the Radisson Hotel at the main lobby, located adjacent to the elevators. They offer buffet breakfast or made to order. I tried both however, I found that their breakfast from their menu was better. I suggest you try their steak and eggs. They give you a huge steak portion too! For dinner, I ordered their special Thai Chicken over jasmine rice. Their homemade dessert though was quite scrumptious. Overall, service was excellent, plenty of seating, and a great option for dining in the hotel. Until then, Cheers! ~ :p

The food is exactly what you would expect at a hotel restaurant. But being that it was Christmas Eve we didn’t really have any other options. We had checked with the restaurant earlier in the day to find out when they were serving food until. 3 different workers told us 10pm. At 9:30 we went to order some food & the SAME exact people tell us they decided to close early because of some kitchen drama. If we knew closing early was even an option we would have gotten to the restaurant much earlier. The bar food they were still serving was not good & very expensive. Don’t get the artichoke dip… I’m pretty sure it’s Costco dip heated up. The cheese curds taste like they were from a box. The BBQ wings were decent. Nothing we ordered was worth $ 10-$ 12 though. We opted to skip the breakfast buffet the next morning. I’m sure it would have been the same quality & same bland flavor for a high price. Pass! Whatever… we were at a hotel. Can’t expect good food.

Defiantly not stellar. I didn’t expect a fancy five star restaurant for it being at a hotel, but defiantly something a bit more. My family and I came here after having a long day around Minneapolis. My siblings got spaghetti and I got a basic cheese-burger. After waiting for a while, we were ready for some hot and fresh food, but out came our warm and mediocre food. The spaghetti was placed in a big bowl that had a long perimeter, causing the allusion of it being bigger – the majority of the spaghetti was sauce. My cheese-burger tasted good, but ended up having no pink for what I considered medium well. The plate was full of fries which had a good taste to them but they were as if they’d been sitting there for a while. The only reason it doesn’t have 2 stars right now is because of service. The waitresses and hostess were amazing. Happy, nice, and very accommodating, they were defiantly the best part. Not only did our waitress keep up with us but two other workers came to make sure we were good. All in all the food was good, but expensive for the proportions and the wait was not timely for how little food. But the service was amazing and they, if not the high light, were the best part of the dinner. Thank you!

Great place. Great food. Reasonable prices. A little disappointed that’s why I’m giving it a 4 out of 5 stars. Wouldn’t you agree that there is a glass of wine missing in that picture? Well I ordered it, following the suggestion of the waitress. The glass of wine never came. Reminded the waitress but still never came. I will come back, loved the place.

This place is great!!! Stayed at the hotel for two weeks and the restaurant was excellent! Servers Brandy and Lesbert(Lezie) were the best servers I’ve encountered in Minnesota! They were polite, friendly, and were on top of their job making sure I was completely covered! Thank you guys so much!

Our waitress was great. We sat in the bar/lounge area, which was kid free(a bonus). The nacho appetizer was huge & delicious. The taco salad was also huge. We also had the lumberjack pizza, which was also good(lots of leftovers brought home). Even receive a dessert on the house since it was my birthday — the cheesecake was great — even though we were already stuffed. The only minor complaint was that there wasn’t a designated parking area for the restaurant. The hotel was packed so parking was a bit of a walk.

Just ate dinner here and had a horrible experience. Service was extremely poor and the food was very bland and over cooked. I ordered the sesame crusted tuna, ordered it medium rare. The tuna came out closer to medium well. It was supposed to be served with a wasabi aioli I saw maybe a teaspoon of it on the tuna. The rice it was served with was extremely bland. The dish had absolutely no color to it, it was served on a white plate and had absolutely no color to anything except for a few specks of herbs in the rice. As far as service, our server promptly took our order which was nice however once my party received our food, we didn’t see her until one of us had finished our meals, however the other two of us were still eating. Instead of asking how everything was, she asked if we wanted dessert. I would’ve gladly had told her about my dish had she checked back sooner. I was however greeted by the manager after we had paid and were leaving and explained about the poor food quality. She offered to buy me breakfast the next morning however I wasn’t staying at the hotel. Needless to say if I go back to Minneapolis I will be leery about eating there again. Especially after the prices, I expected a better food quality!

I dined here Sunday evening. I was greeted by friendly staff and sat in the bar area. I ordered the wood fired pizza. It was awesome! Crisp crust, golden cheese and excellent flavor. I returned to the hotel between trips, so decided to stick within an «old favorite». Tonight I ordered room service. I was delivered promptly by a friendly young gent. Tonight I was incredibly disappointed with my food. The pizza was oozing with sauce(even though I requested light sauce), the cheese was melted on top, but lacked the delicious golden color from a few days ago… and the crust was limp. I am giving 3 stars as an average for two visits… one star for tonight and five stars for Sunday.

I stay in the hotel a few times a year. This is the first time eating at the restaurant. Not bad. Bartender was friendly, Chris? Had s good time. Had a small problem with my order and he took care of it. It’s a 3 out of 5 kind of place.

This hotel restaurant is pretty bad — really dated looking, and it has the always high hotel restaurant prices. Service was poor as well, and even though we went in later just for a birthday dessert when there was lots of tables and servers available, it took far longer than it should for us to be seated, our order taken, food to arrive and our bill to be settled. We ordered pizza to our room for dinner, and that is totally the way to go for dinner. The breakfast buffet is fine, but in a really cramped space so if it is busy at all its a pain. I stayed in the hotel with my family so I knew I would end up here at some point, but I wish I hadn’t.

Great food and great service. The buffalo wings were the best I’ve ever had, along with the fish tacos. My husband had the brisket sandwich which he enjoyed as well I’d come back tomorrow and order the same thing.

Food was good. I had a black bean veggie hamburger. All came out ok just nothing really flavorful. Service started out ok but then waned. She automatically gave my husband the bigger size and naturally larger priced beer instead of asking which size he preferred which is frustrating. He had the wood fire pizza, again good but she automatically charged him the bigger priced pizza too. We went because we are staying at the hotel and it was getting late and we were tired.

Hand selected local steaks, fresh local veggies, great atmosphere, and super friendly attentive staff. The restaurant is located in the Radisson which is another plus. You can have a great quality meal with out having to leave the hotel. I ordered blue cheese wedge salad, French onion soup, steak with veggies and mac & cheese. To top it all off a slice of New York cheese cake with a glass of milk. Each dish was outstanding! My waitress was Sara. Who was very friendly & helpful with picking out my meal. Even if you are not staying at the hotel I would recommend eating here.

Well let me say what I think. I’m staying in this hotel just for tonight so I decided to eat here. For being an hotel restaurant, I found it extremely remarkable. I have cholesterol problem so no cheese, no red meat, no dairy etc They have been so nice and helpful in suggesting me what I could eat. I ended up to get a chicken taco soup: very tasteful and reach, I truly enjoy it. As entrée, I got chicken breast with local wild mushroom and spinach. The chicken was really good, like really good. The mushroom… oh my God… I ‘m a big fan of mushroom but I’m italian, so used to get the best mushroom in the world. Let me tell you, they were just delicious, the best mushroom I’ve ever had since I’ve been living in usa. And I travel all the time and eat out all the time. Soooo good. Spinach was good as well but that’s not that hard to find. The alcohol, I got pinot noir, $ 9.00 for the glass.(Like a 6 oz glass at least), delicious! I ‘ve been the other night in another good restaurant in Minneapolis and the pinot noir that I got was $ 14.00 a glass, not as good as this one. So I’m happy, nothing super sophisticated, the food was very good as well as the wine and the nice girl at the bar very sweet and helpful. Thank you!

3.5 stars We had a good dinner at the Split Rock Grille which is in the Radisson Hotel, connected to the Mall of Americas. I had the trout which was pretty good. The ambiance is «Minnesota-nice» and the service was good. This is probably a better bar than restaurant.

The hotel attached offers two free complimentary(alcoholic) drinks with any room reservation. Couldn’t pass that up, as a fervent beer drinker. Had the ‘Summit Pale Ale’, local on draft beverage. Was pleasantly surprised by the hops and sheer drinkability of the glass. Reminds me of All Day IPA from Founders… + a bit extra cascade hops around the mouthfeel. Easy to drink 2 – 3 of these with a meal. No drink menu, which was unfortunate to begin with. But great service overall. Very mom-and-pop.

Had dinner here during a recent stay at the Radisson. Our server, Dan was very personable, engaging and had a great sense of humor. If you do eat here see if you can get him as a server. I had the Sausage Wild Rice Pizza which I found very tasty. It was not greasy like some pizzas can be. Being a MN native I always appreciate a wild rice dish and this one did not disappoint. The prices compared to portion size is very reasonable. On my next visit to MN even if I don’t stay at the Radisson I may still grab a meal(wild rice pizza) here.

A fine place if you don’t want to leave your hotel for a late dinner… but the flip side is also true — this isn’t a destination in the least, IMHO. The morning breakfast service was really good(earning an extra star, for sure) — but service in the bar area was lackluster and the beet selection was nothing to write home… err Unilocal about.
