I take my Unilocal Elite status seriously. I know the impact that a low rating can have on a business, especially a small business. I’ve always told myself that I would only rate a business a 1 if I would never want anyone to have the same experience as I did. My first 1-star rating goes to this Sprint location. It is one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. Even worse than Comcast. Can you believe that? Let me explain: I went to the Sprint store to purchase an iPhone5. I saw online that I could get a new phone for $ 99. When I entered the store, I double checked that I could get a phone in the store for the same price. He told me no, that’s the iPhone4 price. I said well, then I can get one online for $ 99? He told me no, the phone is $ 200, then you get $ 100 free dollars in accessories. Long story, short, I was misled. The entire time I could have purchased a phone online for $ 99 — no accessories anywhere.(I never buy accessories from cell phone stores because they are massively overpriced.) I ended up leaving the store having paid over $ 250 with accessories I never would have wanted. When I realized their mistake, I went back to the store. They confused me some more, and I left. After I complained, I was promised a credit to my account. When I didn’t find the credit applied and DIDNOTICE that a monthly insurance charge had been added to my account without my consent, I was even more frustrated. I called the store. The manager wasn’t in, but they took my name down. No call back. I called the store again a week later. The manager wasn’t in, but they took my name down. I called again. The manager wasn’t in the store, so they offered to take my name down or I could call back when the manager was in the store. I called back and spoke directly to the manager later that day. The manager was apathetic. She could care less about me or my concerns or frustrations. She never once apologized, and answered me in one word responses. My customer service experience here was atrocious. Sprint, you should be ashamed of these employees. I will never be back, and I advise you to never go there either.

My brother Jeff had a Sprint account for years and years and years. It was at least 8 years ago when he added me to his account and gave me a cell phone as a gift. I live in San Francisco. Jeff died in April of 2012. I contacted Sprint to let them know and to also pay the remaining balance owing on his account. I specifically asked Sprint if they planned to charge a ‘contract cancellation fee’. I expected them to say ‘of course not, we wouldn’t do such a thing under the circumstances…” and that’s exactly what they said to me. I provided them with proof of his passing and I thought all was taken care of. WRONG! Unfortunately, due to an oversight/glitch with with my brother’s estate/Trust, Sprint still had access to my brother’s Wells Fargo bank account, and since he was on ‘auto’ pay… they sucked out that additional $ 200(cancellation) fee about one month later. Maybe you are wondering why I am posting this one year later. I was just in Mpls/Uptown this past week and drove by a Sprint store where my brother most likely purchased/upgraded his cell phones over the years. I had a flashback of my conversation with Sprint a year+ ago and felt I needed to let consumers know that any company that would take this kind of advantage is not only callous, but that Sprint is also nothing shy of being an outright thief.

Ok, obviously I don’t work for Sprint, so this is not a ad.(as a lot of faux Unilocalers do) — I need full cellular communications for my job. I have been with Sprint thru 3 jobs(same industry) and they have always been good to me. Its not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. I went in here the other day to upgrade from my favorite Sprint Phone to a Blackberry. I had to, it was time. A young dude named Phillip helped me, and gave me great advice. He answered all my questions, programmed my new blackberry, sync’d my bluetooth, and I got a good price. He was knowledgable, polite, handled my transaction fast as he could– although it takes awhile to change phones. All in all I was really happy. Thanks Phillip for the great customer service!!!
