Sudz Salon

This salon has been a fantastic place for both my children. They have gotten great looking haircuts here, (both teenagers, one boy, one girl) and the staff has been very sensitive to any apprehension and/​or self –consciousness of having a dramatic change in appearance. They have been sensitive and attentive to what my kids want their hair to look like.
The atmosphere is friendly and laid back. Plus the staff offers you something to drink, including wine!
We have had great experiences here. My kids refuse to go anywhere else. I could not recommend this place enough. Someday I hope I have the time to get my hair done here as well!

I went to Sudz for a haircut for the first time today because of its positive reviews (especially for those of us with curly hair) and its proximity to my apartment. I will be going back to Sudz because my experience was incredible!
I was immediately greeted by friendly staff and offered complimentary wine, coffee, or tea. I waited for all of 5 minutes before James, the man who was going to cut my hair, was ready for me.
Guys, James is awesome. He started with an amazing stress-​relief head massage, and was an overall delight in conversation. I’m very cautious about haircuts, because many stylists aren’t good with curly hair, but I felt totally relaxed in his capable hands. My hair is exactly how I wanted it, and the pricing was beyond reasonable.
I cannot recommend enough. What a great overall first experience!

I did not have a great experience here. My two main complaints: price and the color of my hair. I have dyed red hair and I went in for all over color and highlights. My roots ended up being bright orange and didn’t really match the rest of my hair. I thought that it would maybe fade to the correct color in a couple days… But no. After a month I had a gross brassy blonde color on top and copper red on the bottom. Yikes. And it cost me $ 160. I called recently about coming coming in to have the roots done again, and I was told it would be the same price. Seriously?!? I was having trouble finding a date to see the stylist I had before and the receptionist did not work with me at all. She wasn’t giving me open dates or suggesting anything so I just said nevermind and found somewhere else to get my hair done. I
don’t think I’ll be returning here.

In walked into Sudz about seven years ago, met Terese Chillingworth, and have been thrilled ever since. Terese is a pro. Great skill with hair. I highly recommend her for cuts and color.

I really can’t say enough good things about the Sudz salon! It’s always a party. Margaret’s Euro-​facial is to die for, Terese can take any old mop and make it fabulous (and your fabulous mop even more fabulous!) The front desk is always «on it» and be sure to pick up some product too, as product discounts add up quickly with their Sudz punch cards. I’ve had my hair, makeup and facials done here countless times, and have sent friends who have also raved. There is a very special vibe going on here, so make yourself a part of it. You can also enjoy a latte at Spyhouse, or show off your new look at Via’s Vintage; both are just next door.

You have an amazing front desk team! I always look forward to walking in and I never want to leave. Thanks to Teresa for the «Freshest Fierce Styles» and to Ms Margo Channing for keeping my eyebrows soft & masculine. You have an amazing team.

Margaret took care of me when I was getting ready for my daughter’s wedding. She did my make up to make me feel ready for the day and pictures. Loved the natural look. She was sensitive to my typical style and gave me the right amount of pizazz but not overdone. Erin did my hair with a blow out which turned out great. She taught me how I could do it again. Sudz is a great salon. Lots of talented stylists and estheticians. I highly recommend it!

I got married in Uptown and needed a salon that could handle a pretty outgoing and free-​spirited group of women. I looked at salons in numerous neighborhoods in Minneapolis and ended up booking everything with Sudz.
I was 110% satisfied with services.
Steven booked everything perfectly — 12 appointments and a last minute «add» — he got us in and out in perfect time. The stylists were all friendly and skilled, the space was clean and bright and classy, the prices completely fair for the area. We had updos, loose curls, blow-​outs — you name it and they did it for us.
Johnny, my stylist, was amazing. He did just what I asked for, and it turned out absolutely wonderful.
One person that deserves an extra thanks was Margaret the make-​up artist. I talked to her at my practice appointment and she penciled me in on my wedding day. She ended up doing much more than my make-​up — once the party saw her skills at work, she was in high demand. We had so much fun for her and the results were gorgeous. She was flexible, fun, and very talented.

The last place you want to run into someone you know is right as you’re about to get your lady-​stache waxed. Well, technically AFTER would be worse, because then you’re all red and blotchy and it’s so obvious what you’ve just been up to. I totally ran into someone I knew at Sudz as I was requesting my hair removal. Blush-​central.
Anyway, I was able to walk in without an appointment and walk out within 15 minutes de-​moustachioed. They do the waxing in the basement and the room is comfortable and clean. Sweet deal!

Paula Schlee gave me the best haircut a month ago and I still get lots of compliments on it. She knows color really well and always makes my hair beautiful. We booked a couple nail & hair appointments for my wedding. When the bridemaids wanted other services, the salon was so accommodating and got everyone the services that they wanted. The ladies looked great. Notably, my sister has poker straight hair. Paula was the first person to be able to give her curl and volume. She loved her hair. Actually the entire wedding party loved their hair.
I highly recommend the salon in general, but especially Paula Schlee.

Erin at Sudz is the best. When I visit the city, I always return there for my color and cut. The salon looks good and everyone is friendly. I have long hair, and Erin always makes me look fabulous!
