$ 5 burger and fries after tax and a old school bartender(Joe) that takes time to know his patrons. This is a great place

It is what it seems… a good 3 – 2 bar. Its not a fancy place. It IS a great place for fresh cooked food. WAY better service you would get at any gen-X hangout. If you like a basic beer, a $ 5 burger basket and some super nice people, this is it. BTW, the breakfast on weekends is AWEsome. Eggs, omlet, french toast, hashbrowns, pancakes… honestly good food. My wife and I went and had a ton if food with really good coffee for $ 14. Steve knows what over easy means. New seating on the booths — looks nice.

I love a dive bar… But this place is a craphole! Stopped in with my girlfriend several months back. She was the only female in there. Thought for sure I was going to have to fight our way out. Literally the entire bar was staring at her like a hungry dog eyeing up a grilled steak. We had more teeth than the other 8 guys in there combined. Add to that the bar tender was a total grump. I think you get the idea.

This bar is horrible… It smells like someone has died! Furthermore the bartender was drunk and telling horrible creepy jokes. I would never go here again!

Three-two joint on the light rail corridor. Owned by Steve, who supposedly makes a killer breakfast/brunch. He made a point of introducing himself. This place is a dive, but a fun atmosphere, all the people are regulars. They have buck hunter, pool, and an old school pinball machine. We had their burgers, and for frozen patties, they were quite good, as well as the fries and onion rings. They were cooked in new grease and didn’t have that weird fried food flavor that you get sometimes when chicken strips or fish fleets are cooked in the same baskets. Overall it was a fun time, I want to try their breakfast, because I think it would be good and cheap.

This place was the epitome of a dive bar and it was just so empty! We got there and not one was there except for our group but the drinks were super cheap and they only take cash fyi. They said that they have great juicy lucy’s but tbh, I don’t know if I would eat anything there. It is a very small place and your neighborhood bar. I think it is a necessity to stop by at and it was my first stop during the Pub Crawl!

Just a good quality dive bar. Drinks and food are cheap and the people are nice so not much to complain about. Perfect little stop for both neighborhood regulars and afterwork/pre-game LRT-ers alike.

I went with 3 stars because this place is truly a mix of horrifying and stupendous. A quintessential dive bar where they really don’t want you to leave, it can be great or a nightmare depending on your frame of mind, and perhaps the mood of the people there on the night. You are bound to end up in crazy conversations and perhaps lose your mind a bit. I have never been there when there’s been music and have not tried the food. But this place is like a weird beer lodge from the North Woods except it’s conveniently located near the LRT in south Mpls. I encourage you to go there and see for yourself. Just keep in mind, it’s a great place to get really, really drunk. Play some tunes on the jukebox and get experienced.

I like the place. I’ve been going there for 20 years. It looked vintage then and It hasn’t changed much. It’s a local working man’s kind of joint, a little grungy looking but very authentic. Come in for a great burger, a cold beer and friendly colorful conversation with interesting real people that will be happy to opine on the days events.

I’m glad that I found this place. It’s probably the closest bar to my new diggs, so I can see myself hanging out here after work. It’s a hole in the wall, friendly neighborhood beer bar. No booze served. They also serve polish dogs and Jucy Lucy’s at a competitive price. The bartender said they serve breakfast on weekends, but they don’t open until 10 a.m. Parking lot in back, juke box, pool table, greasy food, cheap beer. Obviously a lot of regulars, 3 people started up a conversation with me in the 45 minutes I was there.

So, Sunrise Inn. Where did you come from? I feel like I stepped through a worm hole and ended up in a small town when I stepped out the other side. The Sunrise Inn reminds me of some little neighborhood bar. It’s a decent size with moderate décor. Wood paneling for sure. There is a juke box. Some pool tables and dart boards, as per standard at these places. There were some booths along the wall to sit in, which was pretty sweet. It was slow as heck when my friend and I went in. There were about 2 other people in the bar, plus the bar tender. One of the patrons of the Sunrise Inn was an elderly gentlemen that had nominated himself to be the juke box DJ for the night. He selected some good old tunes by the likes of Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, and some others I can’t recall at the moment. When DJ Jukes sat down at his stool, he rocked out and kept the beat of the songs by pounding and slapping his hands on the bar. He sang along to some of the songs between gulps of his cheap beer. It made me wonder what this elder was doing at the bar at 10:30pm. I wondered if he was playing songs that his deceased wife and he had loved during their lifetime together.

This is a REAL Juke joint… Some Saturday’s you will find a Psychedelic Dixieland band playing with a far out tuba player and electric guitars… Strange I know! The décor in dingy and Doctor Glade regularely holds court at the end of the bar. The burgers are great and the beer is cold. Give it a try! It is an experience you won’t soon forget!!!
