An end of an era I guess sorry to see you guys closing down. I’ve been going to that establishment to eat and to drink when I was of age for I don’t know how long. The owner froends to the family growing up, I’m sad to to see the place go. Good food good drink good fun. Good luck on the next adventure.

comfortable little neighborhood bar — great place you can get 1.00 beer(small but cold and good!) and hey at 1.00 you can have several! love the way the bar sits down sunken and the atmosphere — -i guess i like those old fashioned cozy bars… food isn’t half bad but i usually am more about the drinks when I go here…

Seems like a down-home townie bar. Was here on a Saturday night. It’s pretty popular for pool as a table was almost impossible to get our hands on until about an hour before bar close. Great deals, I think when we were there they had half price pitchers. Stella for $ 7, sure! Why not? The only downfall in my eyes are that there is only 1 bathroom downstairs. Okay, one women’s bathroom. A one-seater which means there was always a line. This is bad because I’m at a bar… drinking…and I gotta tinkle. No line for the guy’s though. I may or may not have gone in there ;)

After touring the Summit Brewery recently my Super Lady Friend was craving some waffle fries. Goby’s Grille didn’t disappoint. Their waffle fries are amazing, orgasmic, and life changing. The rest of the food was very good as well. I ordered the Chicken Cordon Blue sandwich & she ordered the Bacon Cheese Burger, both gave us the option to upgrade to the waffle fries and seasoned sour cream. My sandwich was cooked extremely well, the chicken was cooked through but still incredibly moist. I was certainly not disappointed. Truth be told I actually managed to drop the last little chunk of chicken on the floor, and I had my own internal struggle on whether or not to eat it anyway. The sandwich was that good. Alison’s burger was also cooked exactly as she likes it. I had to do some serious fast talking to get her to let me even have a bite, usually she has a decent amount of any meal left over. I certainly wouldn’t have been disappointed had I ordered this as instead of my sandwich. I strongly recommend this place to anyone in the area. Kind of a little dive, but prices are reasonable, and service was great.

Saturday afternoon at 1:30 pm, stopped in for a late breakfast — being a late night server, meal times are always askew. Anyhow, it was fairly quiet, older building… looks more like an old man/vfw type bar. BUT, I didnt really feel like a swanky martini lounge. I wanted to BS with a bartender about how to pronounce«Heggie’s pizza» and play pull tabs from an automated machine. For such low prices, I was impressed with how awesome my steak sandwich — smothered in onions, mushrooms and Swiss — tasted. I give this place 5 stars based on what it aims to be — low key, good for low maintenance, heavy drinking patrons with no particular prerogative for fancy-shmancy show offs

I actually tried out Goby’s on New Years eve this year. I have a couple of friends that live down the street and we wanted to get together and do something«low key» to celebrate. We picked the perfect place. Our server was great(can’t remember her name) and fun. Had she not been working all the tables I feel like she would have sat down with us and ordered a round of shots. We had some food as well(waffle fries were great) which was pretty good for what we had. All in all, a great laid-back neighborhood bar that you felt comfortable going to without being a regular(didn’t get the dreaded«you’re not from around here» stare).

It is an ok spot. Not awesome and nothing is going to stand out to you here. The service is meh at best, but since my girlfriend and I do what we can to stay out of Plums, this is an ok alternative if you are in the area.

Being from out of town figured why not just try a local spot. I enjoyed the Cajun burger, the ambiance was mellowed out, older crowd. Not too shabby for a subtle bite with friends.

I go there for the happy hour Friday evenings and have found consistently rude, surely service. The drinks may be cheap but if you are under 28 don’t bother. Not worth it. Go to plums instead.

It may not be hip, but I really do love Goby’s. Sometimes it’s nice to go to a quiet neighborhood bar, where I can talk to my spouse without having to scream over loud music. The food is average, but it is consistent. The service is always outstanding, which seems to be rare these days. I am always able to find a clean booth. The drinks are always strong, and there are tons of specials.
