My first distillery experience and will definitely visit again. Location was a little confusing as Google maps said I arrived, but did not see it immediately. A little hidden spot on a back-bumpy dirt road… wish I owned a Jeep Wrangler. Pretty happening joint on a Saturday Afternoon, great open windows and inviting patio with food truck outside. Very Friendly and knowledgeable staff about their spirits and why they slap the basil leaves around. Highly recommend their drinks on the Tap Handles, if you don’t know what you are going to order.

We did a private tour for a bachelorette party and it was amazing. I’ve done a Saturday tour before and Jon let us tweak the tour according to our preferences. Amazing spirits, great service and fabulous cocktails. Highly recommend trying these guys out, they do everything really well.

They don’t do «flights» of their liquors, but they sampled a number of them between me and my friends the evening I went. I got the amaro which is quite unique. All the liquors were REALLY idiosyncratic, with different notes & finishes. Great change from beer breweries. LOUD& very busy, but seemed to have plenty of space. Food truck was delicious. Parking lot looks like a bombed out, muddy, war zone though.

It doesn’t get cooler than Tattersall. For this who need more than beer venture to this amazing distillery with amazing cocktails in NE. We were lucky the weather was nice so we could sit outside. Red River food truck has a small selection of food options. Wish there were more! Can’t wait to next time so I sample the right side of the cocktail list.

Beautiful! What a slick vibe this place has — all exposed brick and glassed-in distilling equipment around the whole bar. The bar itself has a giant, spectacular chandelier hanging over it. I came here for the first time on the night of Prince’s death, and the distillery had a cool cocktail they whipped up(«Purple Haze,» I think) to memorialize Prince. It was delicious. Finding the place can be a little tricky, but once you’re here, it’s a lovely place to meet friends. There’s usually a food truck outside(the one I saw last time served various types of fried cheese, which: yes please) and really the only downside for me is that I don’t feel hip enough to be here!

All the drinks are good but the Bootleg and the Compass Point are my go-to cocktails. Both are clean and crisp without being too sweet or too dry. Bootleg for summery refreshment(with ice) and Compass Point for straight-up coupe glassware service.

What a magical little place on a not-so-magical, confusing and borderline sketchy road! I came here on a mid-April day, sunny in the mid-70’s, patio open with the O’Cheeze food truck out back, feeling blissed out AF. Do not let the dirt road leading to the back of a row of industrial buildings sway you. It’s great here. I love their chandelier, horseshoe bar, kegs on display, high ceiling, music, and fresh flowers. And the service was phenom. My friends were super late, caught up in the god awful 35W North rush hour, but I was having a good ol’ time learning new things from the server. He introduced me to Aquavit and it changed my life. It’s like a savory gin, with notes of fennel, anise, and caraway. I told him I felt dumb for not being too familiar with it, and then angry for all of the years I haven’t been drinking it. My fave cocktail was the«18th and Central»(toasted coconut aquavit, pineapple, lime). The Northside(w Aquavit, lime, mint, habanero bitters) was refreshing with a little heat — a really cool contrast. Their Old Fashioned was solid, and I’m pretty sure every single other cocktail is superb. I should get back there soon and find out for myself…

This was my first time to this place! I have been trying to visit all of the local distilleries in Minneapolis and by far this one is my favorite. from the environment and vibe to the vodka and aquavit, this place is a must see if you are a liquor connoisseur or have an interest in mixology. Location and Environment: Since this was my first time here, I definitely got lost trying to find the actually tasting room. My google maps GPS took me to the front of the building when you actually need to turn into a parking area to go to the back of the building to enter(be careful of that!). Anyway, once I found it, it was all up hill from there. My friend save us 2 seats at the bar, which I was grateful for because supposedly its prime seating and it gets really busy on Fridays around 7 pm. There are also a a hand full of standing areas and bar tables and chairs for groups to congregate. Vibe: This place is definitely fit for a more sophisticated or hipstery crowd. It is in Northeast so that should give you a little clue from that. I would say you can go there dressed in work clothes, business casual, or even casual wear(if you idea of casual wear dress is not a yoga pants and a sweat shirt…) Drinks: The drinks I had were amazing! All aired on the on the side of light and refreshing which I prefer. I am not a fruity drinker so if you are similar to me these are drinks you should try. 1. Phil Collins: Wonderful! Very light and refreshing. In my opinion the aquavit is the best liquor they have! 2. Compass Point: You would think it would be sweeter because of the crème de fluer but it really isn’t which was a huge plus for me. 3. North Side(I think…): This was a drink the bartender recommended to me because I liked light and refreshing drinks. The one difference about this one jalapeño was added to it so it made it a little spicy. This was by far my favorite because of the bite of the jalapeño. All and all, a great place! Go there to catch up with a friend, celebrate a big personal or professional win, or just to sit and talk to the bartenders who seem to show patrons that they really want to be there and know about the Tattersall products.

I visited tattersall for the first time on Wednesday night, which also happened to be my birthday. It is tucked away, and a bit hard to find, however, once you make it there, you won’t want to leave. The craft cocktails are delicious and inexpensive. I went in thinking it was going to be $ 12 drinks, and they run more in the $ 7.50-$ 9 range, which is totally worth it for the quality you get! The décor was cool and the atmosphere was really relaxed. It would be a great place for a date! It’s quiet enough that you can make conversation, but there is enough interesting stuff to look at if you have an awkward silent moment.

Are you kidding me?! This place is doped. This place had me a convert to cocktails since I am a wine person. I only know how to order wine, cocktails on the other hand gets to confusing for me. But I managed to order a bootleg tonight– vodka, lime, jasmine and some other yummy refreshing flavors and they were good. My friend’s old fashioned drink was even better! I always love those giant square ice cubes in the drink. OMG! It was delicious, a strong balance of bourbon and sweet flavors. I am still thinking about it after I got home and can’t wait to go there for a drink again. This place gets really packed and loud. It is a vibrant hang out place, not a chill quiet place like I thought at first. Parking can be tricky when this place gets packed. Oh, and they really need to fix the giant pot-holed road. It was bad… even though it’s not preventing your customers from showing up but please be kind to them because someone could get a hefty car repair bill one of these days.

I figured a good send-off to my drinking self for the foreseeable future was to hit up one of the trendiest cocktail bars in town, where everyone was clearly still excited to be there and the crowds were intense and full of good people-watching.(Shout out to the dudes having a dudes’ night and watching hilarious YouTube videos while getting progressively drunker! Thanks for existing and providing those of us around you with amusement.) It’s hard to find, sort of. There’s a giant sign on the road, but you have to drive a while along a back alley to get to it. The fact that there’s a parking lot is rad. Less rad is that it is apparently dirt, so now that it’s winter it has some of the worst potholes ever. I hope you had your shocks replaced recently! It’s mad busy inside, so pay attention and look for holes along the other sides of the bar to get faster service than right by the door. The cocktail list itself is massive! Everything I had was good, and everyone else seemed satisfied with what they got. They made the cocktails pretty quickly and were making multiples in one go. The cocktails are dirt cheap considering what you’re getting, which makes the place affordable in a way that a lot of the other cocktail bars in town are not. If you’re looking to check out some good craft cocktails without emptying your bank account, this is your place.

In a few short months Tattersall has become my go to place for a drink… but don’t tell anyone; its crowded enough as it is. First it is so great to have wait staff at a taproom/cocktail room. They are very helpful and very knowledgeable about the drinks they serve and the booze made on site. A couple of my favorite drinks so far: The Northside-Aquavit, Mint, Lime and Habenero Biters… A-Maz-ing. The drink is minty and herby and at the last minute just a hint of heat that lingers in your mouth. Umeboshi Sour-A bourbon sour with a dash of Umeboshi Vinegar. The sweetness of the bourbon really plays well the sour and vinegar. I’ve also had the Bridge & Tunnel, Old Fashioned, Go to Tattersall, it’s a great place to hang with friends, on a date or just for a great drink.

Cool place even though it was hard to find and the location to the train makes it a bit shady. The overall vibe is trendy and chill. The cocktails were pretty impressive, though I sent my first order back(Moscow mule) for being totally off and flat. They graciously replaced my drink with a different cocktail, which I appreciated, and I enjoyed. Good prices, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and good drinks.

G & T’s — they’re my jam. My love, my life. I don’t care what that says about me — I don’t know why I find them irresistible and delicious. Everyone says they taste like a Christmas tree or what they think an old man would taste like. I love finding new spins on this classic drink, and Tattersall serves up, what I believe, is the best Gin and Tonic in the Twin Cities. Made with spruce tips from northern MN — I mean, that is pretty awesome. What’s even more interesting to me — is they have this on TAP. They must be pretty confident in a drink to have it available pre-made. I love that you can get this locally crafted spirit in liquor stores all around the area(do note that they are only allowed to sell smaller bottles within the taproom, legally.) I love the Thorp, and had my own art up at a show there a few years ago. Personally, I completely dig the über old buildings crawling with artists and overflowing with creativity and ecclectic people. I never saw this building as a great spot for a distillery, mostly because you really have to know where you’re going to even get to it — but if that doesn’t add to the experience, I don’t know what will. Just head around back, and with their sweet patio and food trucks out front, you can’t miss it. The interior is gorgeous, with that antique bar and tufted leather couches. Bathrooms are so pretty, but the huge wall of windows is my favorite feature. Bartenders are hit or miss, however. Some are fantastic and have great recommendations, others are plain ol’ snobs, eh what can you do. This is definitely my favorite distillery, perhaps for sentimental reasons, but the space is perfection, the gin is HOT, drinks are inventive and flavorful, and the location only adds to your whole drunken experience.

Despite the fact that this is a distillery I want to curl up with a fuzzy blanket and a book and live here on a cold day. There’s something upscale yet very homey about this place. Oh and the cocktails are good too. i didn’t get a chance to do the tour but it’s on my list. I had the bourbon coffee drink whose name escapes me and something else I am blanking on. I thuroughly enjoyed both but they are definitely sippers. They do not make cocktails you will be downing like a college freshman at a jungle juice party. These things have complex flavor and strength. So good. Glad to see some distilling fever hit the TC. Oh but please Tattersall do something about the off roading you have to do to get to your door. If I wasn’t borrowing my dad’s truck for the night I may have lost my sedan in the potholes.

It wasn’t super hard to find, but you do have to go around the back. It’s in a long warehouse building, and surprisingly packed for the location. How do people find out about places like this?! The ambiance is very hipsteresque with old and new — old exposed ceiling and vent pipes alongside newer chandeliers, high tops and bar stools and squashy lounge seating sprinkled around with wooden barrels behind a glass wall. The drinks: The bartenders take their time to really make your drinks with care. My first drink was an old fashioned — smooth with freshly shaved lemon peel, notes of caramel and hints of spice. I enjoyed it. My friend had the houndstooth — they add a lot of egg white which makes it rich and creamy with quite a bit of frooth on top. But there was also a brightness, followed by a bitter aftertaste. 2nd round of drinks included the clover club cocktail — I wasn’t a fan of the cherry vanilla bitters. My favorite drink was actually the whiskey sour. Service was okay. They have servers near the lounge chairs and high tops, but it’s quite a wait for your drink on a Friday night.

Lovely spot, so glad more liquor options are becoming available(for us non-beer drinkers). First off, the building is very swank-meets-industrial park. Huge windows, beautiful crystal chandler, exposed pipes, U-shaped polished wood bar. Classy. Very cool. Staff are all super friendly, both at the bar and tables. Rotating food trucks out front for your snacking/eating needs. Drinks — my favorites are the umeboshi sour and the clover club. The umeboshi sour is their take on a whiskey sour, with Japanese pickled plum and magic. You’d think it’d be strange, but oddly enough, it works fantastically. The clover club makes me feel like I’m in some super fancy old-school speakeasy. Not sure why, especially since I’ve never been in one, but based on what I’ve seen in movies, I assume it’d fit right in! Not too sweet, very smooth, and delicate. Lovely presentation too. Some of the drinks are a bit on the overly sweet-side, which is pretty much the only reason why this is a 4-star review instead of 5, but different tastes, different preferences. This just happens to be mine. That and the far ladies restroom is kinda creepy.

I’m the 7th reviewer of Tattersall Distillery so it is still very new. We came here twice in one week because, quite frankly, this place is seriously happening in the Northeast Minneapolis craft beverage scene. It has all the components I look for when going to a new place. Its out of the way, almost obscure location makes it the perfect speakeasy. People are excited about going to this place and it shows in the clientele. Food trucks are unique and adventurous. Cocktails are strong and prices are not which is a refreshing change from the other places in the same class that might charge $ 14 – 15 per cocktail. At Tattersall, $ 9 for an Old Fashioned, and about $ 10 for the Houndstooth in a coupe glass featuring their bourbon. If you’re into moonshine, try their delicious white whiskey featured in the Red Dog. Containing barreled corn whiskey, sour cherry liqueur, bittercube trinity bitters and Dogwood cold press concentrate. This concoction is a caffeinated alcoholic elixir, so be warned and enjoy accordingly! The Paradisi is very fresh and fruity but not excessively sweet. Cucumber-infused fun, grapefruit and peppercorn tonic. The Psycle and the Phil Collins we ordered both contain a new delicacy which I was pleased to try. As the bartender explained to us, Aquavit is a Scandinavian herbal spirit containing caraway, anise and fennel. It’s the«water of life» for the 21st century and it’s making a heavy comeback. The Residency features gin, lemon, basil and black walnut bitters and was interesting in both flavor and depth. You could probably have 1 or 2 of these, but it’s still a sipper like the Old Fashioned and the Houndstooth, which had a lot stronger and heavier mouthfeel. The interior is spacious, welcoming and trendy yet surprisingly vintage with that gorgeous and elaborate chandelier hanging high above the bar. Servers were prompt and friendly, although we did notice that first rounds took about 5 minutes to arrive, while 2nd rounds took over 45 minutes. Number of patrons and overall capacity did not seem to be the cause of this delay, but it wasn’t unbearable. Would just like to see quicker service on additional drinks. One last mention: the food truck on Saturday night was featuring alcohol-inspired food. I got the Aquavit battered cheese curds with a side of beer aioli. This was absolutely delicious and the flavors worked their magic! Tattersall is my new favorite cocktail room, in our little corner of the city.

I am so excited for the distillery game to pop off here in the TC, and I think Tattersall has done a good job of setting the bar. After 3 visits here, I’ve been impressed overall but am especially hopeful for what the future holds once they work out the kinks. I have been making an effort to try as many cocktails as possible, at the risk of going outside of my comfort zone. Full disclosure: my ideal cocktail has some bubbles and a healthy dose of citrus. That being said, there are some great and some not-so-great cocktails that I have sampled at Tattersall. So far, the«On Tap» options have been my favorite– though sometimes they are a little too sweet. These cocktails are batched so you cannot ask for substitutions. This week I tried their Mule Variation and LOVEDIT(mmm pineapple shrub) whereas a few weeks earlier I found it a little sweet. The opposite happened with the Bootleg– that was my favorite at my first visit but tonight it was too sweet. Their G&T is a crowd pleaser. Again, I love the on tap cocktails because almost all of them incorporate citrus and soda water! I think that their most impressive liquor is the aquavit– it has a great, refreshing flavor. The Psycle cocktail is disappointing in that it is not spicy enough(great flavors otherwise– but if I order something with jalapeño I expect to feel some heat), and the celery shrub cocktail was a little weird(I think lime would be a big help here). If you’re just going to try one thing though, make it the aquavit as I think it is their best effort. I tried the whiskeys for the first time tonight and though I can’t speak to other reviewers foul-tasting experience, I agree that it is their weakest liquor. But you can’t knock them for wanting to try something that really belongs in a barrel for a couple years. Service has been good but sometimes spotty. One server told me that they share everything– so they don’t have hang-ups about you closing out your tab before their shift ends. However, I didn’t see that camaraderie tonight when our server was facing 3 big new tables, so we ended up waiting about 15 minutes just to get waters/place our orders. One big item in their favor– tonight their food truck bailed, so they went out and bought a bunch of food to bring out to patrons for free so we didn’t get too hungry. Kudos to you, Tattersall– I love free shit. I will definitely keep coming back and am excited to keep trying their new boozes(i am particularly intrigued by the sour cherry liqueur from my whiskey cocktail tonight). However, there are a couple things that I would recommend that would take this to 5-star status: –include the serving style in the menu, whether it’s a picture of the type of cocktail or a simple description(e.g «served up», «on the rocks in a highball,» etc) because that is make-or-break for me –turn down the music! I get that this place is trendy, but I want to be able to talk to my friends –fill in the potholes… the road from Central Ave is atrocious Overall, keep up the good work Tattersall and I will see you again soon! TL;DR: get the aquavit and prioritize the«on tap» cocktails. Hold off on the whiskey unless the pairings really speak to you. Great place for a casual night with friends but sit outside to avoid loud music.

Word is that GPS brings you to the wrong side of the tracks. Take Central, turn west on 18th and you’ll see a small sign on the left side. Drive around the back and the clouds will part as you approach Tattersall. Housed in the Thorp Building gives this distillery a great story to build on(check out the watch tower and google more about what was done here during the war era). A casual patio greets you before getting a sense of what Tattersall is all about. The perfect mix of wood, concrete and steel with a variety of seating to please groups or couples. Leather couches, chairs and a variety in between. They have found the balance between the casual brewery and sleek cocktail room. We enjoyed several cocktails, primarily of the gin variety. I was excited to try the barrel aged gin but that will be another week or so. The standard gin is full, floral and herby — yet smooth. Had a taste of the white whiskey which thoroughly caught me off guard. It was all the good things of what I think of a moonshine tasting like. I could probably power my lawnmower with it. But it was good. Had a chance to try the cherry liqueur and a whisky not available yet too. The cherry liqueur was impressive with it’s real cherry taste, no cough syrup action here. Prices are very competitive for a «craft cocktail», the space/atmosphere is great and the spirits are as well. If I was closer, this would likely be a regular spot for me. It may be anyways.
