Waited for one hour, no appetizer, no dinner, so we got up & left. Took the waiter 15 mins to give us water first when only 3 tables were seated in the whole place. I think the order was never placed. & lately the food is no good either. Going down quickly.

Really should be called«Small Bowl». Went for lunch on a Friday with my wife and daughter. A colleague recommended it as an alternative to Noodles(a go-to place for parents with younger kids!). We were seated immediately at a booth. The table was wobbly and our drinks kept spilling. Ordered two noodle bowls for about $ 13 each. Took a while to receive our meals, and I found myself checking my watch to make sure I could make it back to work in time for a meeting. When the food finally arrived, we were surprised at how small the bowls and portions actually were. Taste was good, but nothing to write home about. The Pad Thai was indistinguishable from Noodles, except more expensive and smaller size. We will not be returning.

Good, however food portions are very small for the price. If you are looking to be fully satisfied and a bit left over to take home, this is not the place.

Not what I expected. Met family there and the usual type Chinese place they love to go to is the sort of place that has either roaches falling from the ceiling into your food or they are trying to make off with one of your potstickers. This place is really nice, friendly helpful staff that will do much to assist you. Gotta give credit to Joe, he didn’t give us grief when we hung around for an hour just occupying the table. Portion control is a tad bit small. In Hawaii a bowl they describe as a large that will feed 2 – 3 people is a an item off of the kid’s menu. Still liked the Wonton Soup. Potstickers are worthy, as well as the Chinese Ribs.

The portion of food is so so so less for the price they charge. If you are tired of shopping and want to be full then this is not the right place to be. Food is okay yoo

This is once of my favorite Asian restaurants back home. I’ve been going to this location for probably almost 10 years now, and I always get the same thing. 5 chicken potstickers for the appetizer and the yellow curry chicken for the entrée. It’s easily one of my favorite meals in the world. They also have great raspberry lemonade! The service has always been good and relatively fast. I would recommend to anyone who’s spent a long shopping day at Ridgedale mall!

For quite some time, I’ve heard from various people that they just love Big Bowl. «Hmm.» I thought. «Ok.» Somehow this topic came up last week with a certain woman in my life and she tells me that it’s «pretty good» and she«likes it.» Alright, maybe I’ll give it a shot if it ever comes to be. As chance would have it, my coworkers wanted to go there today. «Hmm.» I thought. «That sounds great.» Since then, I’ve been working on some new slogans for Big Bowl: Big Bowl, where people who wear crocs go for culture. Big Bowl, because Orange Julius was closed. Big Bowl, all of our food tastes vaguely the same. Big Bowl, it’s like Leann Chin, only darker. Big Bowl, it’s like Applebees, only Asianyier. Big Bowl, we added the word«craft» in front of «cocktails» because #2016. Big Bowl, it’s rice or noodles with chicken or beef with some frozen vegetables and brown sauce. Big Bowl!

2 stars for rude staff! The waiter was very much rude, didn’t serve us water even after asking twice. When asked for a drink which is served with kids menu, she gave us a dirty look. Food is also not that great, it’s ok. For sure not coming here again, won’t recommend to friends either, not this big bowl but some other one in the city.

Their Chicken Pad Thai tastes like it’s cooked with Ketchup. Way too much basil, all we could taste. Spring rolls very small and over priced. Dipping Sauces were good. Szechuan Green Beans were delicious. Sesame Chicken Bowl was good but only 5 tiny pieces of chicken and ridiculous amounts of vegetables. It was not fair for the price we paid. Hot chili sauce tasted like Ketchup with Crushed Red Peppers mixed in. I don’t know when they jacked up their prices so high, but $ 16.00 for a chicken build a bowl is so over priced. I will wait for Kona Grill to open and take my business there. Big Bowl you need lower lunch prices, and definitely lower your build a bowl prices!

My favorite is the spicy red pepper chicken noodle! I would say it’s medium in spice but it also has a tangy flavor to it that I absolutely love. They have«phở» but it’s more like a chicken noodle. You can either order a cup or a bowl that says it serves 2 – 3 ppl but I believe it’s only met for one person. They don’t even have siracha! How can you have phở without that :/ But otherwise, I love the atmosphere!

We have been avid fans of Big Bowl for many years. We were very disappointed to see them change the fried rice recipe. It appears to be a precooked frozen rice mix like you would by in the frozen food section of the grocery store including the ubiquitous diced red pepper. Bring back the original fried rice!

I could never say anything bad about Big Bowl. I’ve been to two other locations in the Chicago area and it’s probably my favorite restaurant. They use the finest, freshest ingredients and make the food with love. Our waiter was cute and kind. He was helpful to one of my companions who was nervous about spiciness. Go to Big Bowl; it’s awesome!

I ordered the chicken pad Thai this evening from this location. Absolutely disgusting! I have no idea what they did wrong with this order, but I literally gagged when I took the first bite. I will never go back to this location ever!

I’ve never been so disappointed in their food!!! After a long drive home last night with my brother, we stopped by big bowl for dinner. I was craving their pad thai and wanted some soup. We ended up ordering a stir fry dish too. 1. Their tofu and vegetable pad thai came out extremely sour and very heavy on the sauce making the dish taste condense… almost like it was fermented. Not like their usual flavorful pad thai that should taste kind of sweet. I’m sorry but normal pad thai should have a tamarind sauce not a lemon sauce that takes up the whole taste. We stopped eating it and told our waiter. He was nice and said they could remake it or we can just return it and he will take it off the menu. He later returns and tells us the head chef changed the recipe and decided this is how his pad thai will taste from now on and will continue to make it this way. Um… really…we just sent the plate back and we’re asian. We know what asian food should taste like!!! We liked the old recipe hence we thought we knew what we were ordering. Stupid chef!!! 2. We had a stir fry dish at the bar which we’ve had before with the ginger garlic sauce. Um… it came back tasteless and had black soy beans in it… it was done wrong. This was my husband’s favorite sauce when he comes here. We were so disappointed but we had complained to the waiter once already and he was really nice so we felt bad complaining again. Food was edible although it wasn’t our sauce. Flavor was tasteless. 3. Soup we ordered was dumpling soup in a bowl. Says it serves 2−3…came our in a cereal bowl with 3 dumplings. Is this supposed to serve three appetizers? Confused… Also was on the salty side. All in all we will never return by ourselves here. If you want asian food go to Sawatdee or Amazing Thailand for food or just somewhere else…

So much more than a «chain» restaurant. Love this locations ambiance. You quickly forget you’re attached to an aging mall. The staff is always prompt and knowledgable, and the food usually comes out fast and amazing. Try the ribs and calamari. Hot pepper chicken(add tofu for a nice surprise) and pad Thai also wonderful. Love this place! Organic, locally bought produce. I wish all«chains» operated like this.

I love that they have late night happy hour and it starts at 8:00pm! I’m a fan of their hot basil dish and the pad thai. The spare ribs apps are delish! It peels right off the bones. Big bowl also brews their own ginger ale. Try the orange version. Its quite refreshing. In terms of location, this particular spot is located at the mall but there is direct entrance to the door because it’s not inside the mall. There’s outside patio seating and there are bar tables too. Service has always been great. I’ve never had a bad experience.

Okay… overrated. I went there for the first time today, four of us for lunch. Four dinners, four appetizers. The dinners were good, not great. The appetizers ranged from okay to disappointing. If I knew I was going to drop 128 bucks, there are about 50 other places I would have rather gone to for a meal. I don’t mind spending the money… just somewhere else. –Daddy Maxx Retro

I crave the Pad Thai! It’s so fresh and done to perfection! Quality ingredients too. I enjoy the stir fry bar… They have a decent happy hour and good apps. The staff is friendly and efficient. Conveniently located in the Ridgedale Mall! Family friendly too.
