Me and my friends go here about 3 times a week and Syndey is usually our waitress. She does a great job and always takes care us at our booth. The drinks are always filled and she asks if we need anything, and if we do need anything at all she gets it for us quickly! Definitely recommend everyone go here and say hey to Sydney while you’re there!

I love the food here! The service though is truly hit or miss. Half of the time I get servers that act like they don’t want to be there. Food is great but the service tends to ruin the vibe.

Came in, service was good. Pizza was excellent! Prices are a bit steep, but we will be back.

By far one of the best places to eat in Minot. They have probably the best beer selection. The service has always been wonderful. And we’ve never has a bad meal. The starved rooster pizza is delicious.

My family and I were seated for 20 minutes without any service. I’ve been here before the food is pretty good, but service is lacking. We got up and took our business elsewhere. They weren’t even busy. It looked like a staff meeting was being held. Think they should include service in their next staff meeting.

First time in Minot. Great recommendation. Neighborhood gem with a solid menu, good attitude, and rolling jukebox. Kelsey behind the bar made it special for us out-of-towners. Caprese skewers, Portabella sandwich, chocolate cake, and a Cubs victory made for a great night. Don’t miss The Starving Rooster.

TOURISTGOHERE! I am from Los Angeles, California & this was amazing! The portions were smaller than everything I’ve had in Minot ND, but very well worth it :) The ingredients are top notch but only if you’re open to try an array of flavors. If you are a foodie or have taste buds accustomed to Worldly or ethnic flavors go here. If you like authentic Mexican Foods try the cyclone. If you enjoy authentic Thai, try the Thai-lime chicken(it’s an appetizer). The aesthetics is amazing. I love the enterprise. Good selection of beers. The waiter had excellent customer service.

Very popular local spot, known for good pizza. Sandwiches are great, with good bread and flavors. Kids menu is available, and many folks enjoy their beer selection. Our service was fairly slow(long time between seating and order, and for the check to come at the end), but the atmosphere was decent we didn’t mind the wait. If you were visiting and only going to eat one dinner, eat at the Starving Rooster.

I was excited to try this place being new in town. The portions were very small — I had a cup of soup that was easily ½ C. I also had a chicken salad that was very small. the salad was more than $ 10 too. They did have a good selection of beer and the service was okay. The interior decoration was awesome, almost had a steampunk-ish vibe to it. Exposed pipe, brick, and wood everywhere. The huge garage door that opens in the bar area seems like it would be fun when the weather gets nice. I would like to come try their new brunch menu at some point soon and redeem this place.

An off menu Special Event pairing lured is in. Special is exactly what we got. If you only eat here once, go during a tap takeover course pairing event. We’ve attended multiple times and love it. Masterful creations by the chef, based on tap takeover beer flavors. Each course was prepared with an infusion of the beer being paired with — beer crème brule, beer braised short ribs over polenta, beer stew with beer bread, beer based vinaigrette salad dressing… — every course served with a small glass of the beer used in that culinary delight. The personable chef makes rounds discussing the food — successes and struggles — and the brew master does the same for the beer. It is an excellent experience all around.(5+ stars) Due to the parking nightmare, which may clear up after construction, it took me a while to make my way to The Starving Rooster.(3 stars) I’m thrilled that I did finally give it a try. I have had the pizza 2x. Also had a sandwich 1x. The variety of topping options allows my inner hippie to celebrate.(4 stars) We will do our best to at least attend every event, & may even eat menu items now and then!

This place is great! The chicken Caesar salad is amazing, and so is the pulled pork sandwich. The soups are always delicious, too. The beverage list is small(as is the menu), but I always find something I like. It is a little expensive, but the space has a great atmosphere and the staff is always friendly and fun. The lunch specials draw in a weekday crowd, but you can still find a table! PS — parking is weird. Park on the street or the far lot. The lot next to the building is for the apartments, and the apartmrnt manager WILL have you towed!

5 star food, would give it 5 stars all around but doors open to the street and in ND that is not fun in the winter. Build a breezeway please! You freeze while sitting in here unless you are way up by kitchen. The food is stellar. Thai wings and cuban sandwich are my favorites. They have a great brick oven style pizza and the often have a homemade, very spicy but perfect recipe chili as a side. Super trendy building that has local history and a fun place for beers. Eaten here about 6 times and always go back, please owners — figure out the entry way so I can take off my coat while I enjoy your great food.

Cute modern restaurant with a cool vibe. Service is friendly. Came in for a quick lunch. Co worker and I both ordered the soup and salad combo. I ordered the soup of the day which was Thai Curry, very flavorful with a hint of coconut, very delicious. Salads were standard, good sized portion. Added shredded chicken for $ 2.99 and the cucumber ranch was light and fresh.

Nothing special. Overpriced. It looked good. Tasted good — but meh! Décor is spot on — great sports bar but not awesome. I wasn’t impressed — my sandwich had 1 little mozzarella pearl for the whole sandwich. So I won’t be going there again unless it’s for beer and nuts.

Loved the décor and the vibe of this place. Seated promptly and the server was quick with the drink order. Ordered an appetizer and it was brought to the table well before the food giving ample time to enjoy. The meal was prepared quickly considering the amount of patrons there — starting the lunch rush — and I loved the metal tray it was served on. The staff was very courteous and prompt. Never had to worry about the drinks running out. Ordered the pulled pork and was very happy with the quality of the food. Will definitely come back again!

Really cool space, great selection of craft beer on tap. Only loss of a star is due to the noise. Between the music, patrons, and TV you had to yell to have a conversation. I had the spring salad, cup of black bean chili, and the 3 alarm pizza. All were very good. Pizza was really spicy which was perfect!

I really like this post in downtown Minot, ND. I was in Minot a few summers ago and it really struggled to please when it came to good places to eat. Well, this has since changed and the Starving Rooster is my favorite place to eat in town. I love the pizza and it also appeals to my need for unique flavors on pizza. They have mexican styled ones, normal ones, hot and spicy to sweeter thai chicken. The beer list is great, and includes so many unique craft beers. They switch out handful on seasonal taps as well. The seating situation is pretty funky and industrial. I love the rustic wood tables and the brushed metal mix of seating, too. The servers are always friendly and helpful, easy to talk to and good at giving suggestions. The only downside is that it can get very loud in here, especially on game nights. Just a warning though, the parking situation is a little crazy right now since there is a lot of construction on downtown roads so sometimes i find it hard to navigate here. If you are with a local, they should easily be able to park nearby. Enjoy! My favs are the thai chicken flatbread and the one with taco style toppings.

If the rooster is starving, it’s cause he can’t afford the food. I can’t figure this place out. Why did I go here twice in the same week? Why is everything so expensive? Why is the food just fine and not great? The good news is the atmosphere is wonderful. The staff is friendly and helpful. The bad news: I live in Los Angeles and am visiting friends. The starving rooster has prices comparable to a tourist trap restaurant in the heart of Hollywood. I can’t figure that out. Why is this place so expensive?!? We’re in small town America. Where are the small town America prices? That said this is definitely one of the better places to eat in Minot but 2 or 3 dollars should probably be knocked off of every menu item. I mean, they have cheaper food at the state fair. Now for the food: The first time I had one of the meaty pizzas. The Hercules I think it was called?($ 15 for a 10 inch pizza) The pizza was fine. Nothing special. I have a feeling it’s probably the best pizza you’ll get out here. But it wasn’t dynamite. If Hercules ate this he would still be hungry. The 2nd time I had the cubano sandwich. Maybe I came back because I really wanted to like this place. Maybe I came back because it’s the only place in town to like. I can’t decide. The cubano was good but I wouldn’t call it a cubano. It was more like a pulled pork sandwich. It was great, just not a cubano. The starving rooster clearly has a great thing going here but it’s nothing I’m going to remember the next time I’m in town. I’d say give it a shot if you’re looking for a fun place to eat and you’re passing through. Just don’t expect to be dazzled.

We were recommended the Starving Rooster by our hotel. It looked like the pizza’s were the thing but I was more in the mood for a sandwich and a salad. I decided to get the buffalo chicken sandwich which was perfectly fine but nothing special. I was excited about the huge beer selection — great options from all over the world. I always try to go local and the Starving Rooster came though with a nice Woodchipper from Fargo(Our waitress didn’t get the reference for the name). The place has a great modern interior. Very popular with families yearning to dig into a pie after school/work. Service was nice and prompt. Getting to the Starving Rooster take a bit of off-roading with plenty of dirt and potholes but have faith, your GPS is accurate.
