My husband had suggested this place based on all the hype on Unilocal.I gave in and came in on Labor Day. And they were closed… We are new to the area(from Chicago) we looked ion Unilocal and found another restaurant Aunti i’s Jamaican restaurant less then a mile away. We had our meal and it was AMAZING! This weekend we came back to cool runnings excited that they were open and to compare the food. The food was served from warming pans. We had oxtail, curried chicken, curried lamb and rice and peas. Everything was bland not seasoned as great. Oxtails were fatty and very rubbery, chicken was dry. Rice and peas were good. This meal is not served with the cabbage and plantain as Aunti I’s and the food at cool runnings is sub par. I will definitely be a long standing customer at Aunti I’s

I would give it 5 stars but the lady behind the counter wasn’t the nicest. With that being said the food was outstanding. I ordered the large oxtail. I’ve had it at a soul food restaurant where I live and it was good, but this was the bomb. I ordered the large and while I didn’t think it would be enough, I was wrong. Along with the rice and beans with gravy totally awesome. The salad on the side helped to cleanse the pallet until I pushed it into the wonderful tasting gravy. All I all a great meal.

Bomb homemade JA food. Better than my MIL makes(don’t tell her).My hubby’s favorite spot when he comes home. Love the oxtail. Curry goat too but watch out cuz that’s spicy!

I gave this place a try craving some good Jamaican food. I was not disappointed. The Curry Goat was INCREDIBLE. I asked the woman behind the counter helping me what she recommended and she replied«it’s allllllllll good». That it was! Be sure to ask for the curry goat sauce on your rice and peas! Salad was great too. My girlfriend got the jerk chicken, which was moist and FULL of flavor and my friend got the oxtail which was falling right off the bone. I will be visiting Cool Runnings on the regular! Keep up the great work!

I am no expert on Island cuisine but this stuff is good! Very good. And people that should know tell me that it is authenic. Very bland interior, very informal ordering and service all add to the experience. Try it.

I’m not typically a fan of Jamaican food or jerk anything. But I still wanted to give this place a try since I do enjoy sampling different cultural foods. My friend and I shared 3 complete meals to have an opportunity to sample as much as possible. The food was good considering it wasn’t my style. The interior of the restaurant is nothing fancy. It kind of reminded me of a school cafeteria; but I enjoyed that. On my goal to try different cultural foods I can say that I have tried Jamaican food.

It was pretty good Jamaican. I hate to say it but the chain restaurant Golden Krust on other end of shopping center tastes better.

Good food! Jerk wasnt as spicy as I like. Large portions even for the small order. Its tucked away on the side of a strip mall so you have to go on the side to see it. Don’t get confused by the other Caribbean restaurant in the same strip mall. Keep going until you get to Cool Runnings!
