My boyfriend and I wanted to try different restaurants, but once we found Cosimo and Susie’s we never tried another restaurant.

Great food and customer service. I’ve never had anything on the menu that I didn’t like and a nice quaint atmosphere.

We went to eat here after reading all the terrific Unilocal reviews – we love Italian food. We entered the restaurant at 9:15PM, noticing a sign saying they close at 9:30…and went to «seat ourselves» as the sign said. There were several tables of folks in various stages of their meals. The waitress came over and told us they were sorry, but they were«closed», when clearly they were not!!! Our hungry(post Notre Dame game/Mass) family was basically kicked out. Hope they enjoyed their early evening… we won’t be back to try again. The restaurant business is about hospitality? Not here.

I really liked this place. It’s always great to go to a restaurant that is family owned and you can tell they really care. I was greeted by Cosimo(in his chef’s attire) right when I walked in. I am glad that we decided to eat early because many of the tables were already reserved. It was my wife and I and 4 kids. We ordered a large salad that came with meats and cheeses. We had the house dressing — very good. We orders a large and small pizza. That was more than enough. The crust was great, perfect thickness. Very tasty. Cosimo provides all the regular toppings but they also offer awesome things like their homemade meatballs as a topping. Our glasses were always full and our plates were cleared quickly. The service was fantastic. Even though it was our first trip I felt like family. I hope to up my review to five stars. I want to go back a few more times to try everything they offer.

Oh my! I’ve been hearing about this place for years and finally went with a group of friends tonight. FANTASTICFOOD. The pizza was scrumptious, the Italian draft beer was delicious, lasagna, manicotti and fettuccine looked fabulous. Will DEFINITELY be going back SOON!

What a find! When the 9 year old boy loves it, you know it’s a winner! Yummy and local!

So so food. Lasagne was salty and not a very big portion for the price. Pizza was better. Garlic bread was dry and bland. Expected better based on the reviews here.

Second time eating here. Both times have been outstanding! The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The food was excellent and they offer a nice choice of wines. I enjoyed«Susie’s special“‘moscatolli and it was delicious! I also enjoyed all the Notre Dame memorabilia and old newspaper clippings under the table glass. We will certainly come back when we are in the area.

Great place. My boyfriend and I went here on a whim. The little place was packed. Dimly lit with interesting garb and décor. I liked the old newspaper clippings underneath the glass surfaced table. The place seemed short staffed for having so many people to serve but most mom and pop places have longer wait staff service, so I was OK with the wait for the most part. We ordered the pizza bread and the special that night the meat sauced lasagna. Everything was delicious. The wait time on the food indicated that it was freshly made for the most part and it tasted fresh too. The sauce was a little salty but still really good. I also ordered the Lambrusco, it was OK. I probably wont order it again. We saw a lot of people order the pizza which looked really good too. I will be coming back to this place to try that and some other things. Not the best Italian place but probably the best for the price. Decent, as bubbles would say!

Hands down the best Italian food I have ever had! Best wedding soup and portobello ravioli around! Cannoli was so delicious that I thought i would die from joy!!! The food is great, the atmosphere is quiet and calm and the service was on point! Loved it all!

The family knows this is the second place we wanted to return to after flying in from Arizona. The pasta tasted even better then we remembered. We have yet to find anywhere in Arizona that can compare for the service, the friendliness, and the food. Everything is made with care and the flavor is there. In the whirl of visiting family we will make it back for the great pizza so we can renew our memories and our tastebuds.

Thanks to Cosimo & Susie for opening early for my Mom & Dad. They love the sausage and onion pizza but haven’t been able to stop by for nearly a year due to health issues. Cosimo & Susie welcomed them like old friends

Reading some Unilocal reviews ahead of time, I knew to forgive the location and décor, and to give the kitchen plenty of time. Those ARE things that affect my review, but I thought it best to say them first and get them out of the way.(The place isn’t the cleanest, either). All of that aside, the food was certainly worth waiting for! It truly was the best pizza I’ve had in a long time. Thin crust(in the authentic-Italian way, not thin-and-crispy-American way), great sauce and seemingly fresh ingredients. Perhaps a bit salty, but not enough to be a bad thing – just noticeable. My wife had the meat lasagna, which I tried. Pretty good stuff! I know she really enjoyed it. Medium two-topping pizza, meat lasagna and two sodas plus tip came to $ 50 on the nose. A tad on the high side, in retrospect, but no regret either. We have some leftovers. All in all, the food was great and while the kitchen was slow, the servers were VERY prompt and friendly! This place is an easy recommendation for me!

Very«meh» in my opinion. My son and I went there because we really like Italian food. What we got on our plates was warm(not hot) and the flavor was certainly nothing to brag about. My lasagne is better than theirs. I expected a lot more.

We had lasagne and pizza. Both were excellent! Just finished the leftover pizza(it made a 7 hour trip home) and it was still good — even cold! Service was good and everyone was very friendy.

Excellent food. Pizza, pasta, bread, were all terrific. Service was slow however. The sign at the front warns«Good food takes time» but we waited close to an hour from the time we ordered. However, I’ll still go back but give myself more time. it’s that good. One hint: they take resevations and you should call ahead.

An establishment of this kind and caliber is an amazing thing to find in Michiana. I’m thrilled to have finally found this gem in Town and Country. Don’t let the location and décor belie the fact that this is a truly 5 star restaurant with family style service. The pizza is particularly good and is very reasonably priced. We also had the ravioli which had a marinara sauce that was made in heaven. You can’t go wrong picking this fine family establishment for your dinner. Just remember that good things take time… so be patient and you’ll receive top flight food!

This is a family Italian restaurant. They will give you fantastic food for your money, excellent service, and treat you as a member of the family if you come in somewhat often. It’s quite rare to find such an establishment in this area anymore.

Best Italian fare I’ve had since I have been in South Bend. I have lived here about 3 years. My girlfriend and I came here and tried the tortelloni in vodka sauce and a thin crust hand tossed pepperoni pizza. The vodka sauce was the best I’ve had. Wonderful complex flavor. The meatball that was with it was also excellent. The pizza sauce was sweet and flavorful. The crust was great, crisp. The toppings were top notch. I would be completly remiss if I didn’t mention the service. I felt like a guest at their home, not just another customer. Susie was a pleasure to be around. She always was looking for a way to make us more comfortable. It is no wonder they have been open 22 years. Here’s to another 22 years for them.

Cosimo & Susie’s is a little mom and pop-type restaurant located in the old Town & Country shopping center. Though T&C is generally a turn-off, this hidden gem is well worth the trek out there. The interior is nothing fancy — my fam was a bit overdressed for it actually. Dimly lit with tons of photos and sports memorabilia lining the wall, the restaurant is small, cozy, and casual. Service was great, very friendly and attentive… minus the 40+ minute wait for our food, BUT then again, there WAS a sign informing us that all food is freshly prepared to order, and it was definitely worth it. My family had the mostaccioli with meat sauce, cheese raviolli, meatball sandwich, and tortellon with vodka sauce and meatball. Everything was amazingly delicious. All sauces were homemade, and the meatballs were to die for. Meals here will run you between $ 8(for a sandwich w/chips) to $ 15 for a special entrée(including soup or salad and garlic bread). All in all, it was a great restaurant, a great Urbanspoon find, and somewhere I’ll definitely return to. I’d recommend it for a casual dinner when you feel up to waiting patiently for a delicious meal!
