It’s OK pizza. The crust taste floury, no flavor. Some pieces don’t have sausage on them and the sauce is thin spread

The pizza is excellent and sorely missed now that I’ve left the area. The crust is thick and crunchy and the toppings are heavy. Some of the reviews about service might be a bit misinformed. Barnaby’s is a local favorite, and non-locals don’t always know the drill. Seat yourself, make your order at the counter(there are three, 1 for drinks, 1 for pizza, and 1 for everything else) and wait til they call your number. You will not be disappointed by this wonderful brick oven pizza

Went for pizza — no one greeted us at the door or to explain that we don’t wait to be seated, which wasn’t at all obvious. When we walked up to the counter the women there looked at us like«what do you want?» We asked where we order, how it all works. She explained the process. We ordered and went to the bar for waters, salad bar looked like it had been there for some time as I browsed it on the way back to our table. The people working there stood about the room looking like angry bouncers so that creeped us out, as well as the old timey building smell that ended up permeating our food with an odd flavor. The place had a dirty feel to it and the pizza was not good. We won’t be coming back here again.

Barnaby’s was not my favorite pizza experience in the Michiana area… There wasn’t anything I hated about it but I think I would probably take my business elsewhere in the future. As we walked in, the lighting was dim and the décor was a little dingy. BUT I’m no snob :) I can appreciate a divey place for sure. After taking in the atmosphere for what it was worth, the first thing I noticed was a salad bar– this pumped me up. My favorite pizza place back home has an EXCELLENT salad bar that I crave and so I was excited to test Barnaby’s salad bar out. Unfortunately, it was a little lackluster. When we got to the counter to order though, I still decided to give it a shot to get some greens in before my pizza fix ;) I do like the way the ordering is set up. You walk to the counter and fill out a series of check boxes to express exactly how you want your pizza, what you want to do about appetizers, and any other specifics the kitchen might need to know. We got a couple pizzas, some mozzarella sticks, and the salad. Total came to around 40+ bucks. When I asked about drinks, I was directed to another counter to purchase those separately. Drinks were cheap… but choices were slim. Food was meh. I was hoping for a fresher more homemade approach to our dinner… but the motzerella sticks seemed frozen and the pizza was a little cardbordey and dry. Maybe the pizza is hit or miss? I hear some people rave about their sandwiches and garlic bread… we might go back sometime to try those, but we will continue our search for Michiana’s best pizza elsewhere.

They charge 50 cents plus tax for a take out box! My husband ordered and paid $ 49 for our pizza and sat down to wait. He forgot to tell them it was for carry out so he sent our son back up to tell them that it was for carry out and they said it was going to be $ 1.07 more. They wouldn’t give them our pizza until he paid $ 1.07 more. If they sat back down and ate one piece they said they could have a styrofoam dinner box. Don’t order carry out unless you take your own box!

Horrible food! Dirty cups, beer was flat, dirty bathrooms!!! South Bend location is our regular joint and we were on this side of town and decided to get our favorite pizza. Quality is horrible, all frozen, and nothing like he South Bend location. Even the nacho cheese is different! Will never come to this one again! I’ll stick to downtown SB

The Pizza is ok. I do not see what all the hype is about. I usually order a bowl of chili(nice portion) and some bread sticks. The ”no refills on pop” gag is straight out of the 1940’s. Pizza takes quite some time to be made considering it’s not thick by any stretch of the imagination but it is on the pricey side. Sauce is usually lacking, which is why i don’t even bother sharing with my wife anymore, but on the rare occaision they do remember that sauce is supposed to go under the cheese… i might have a slice or two. Lastly, and before i say what I’m going to say, I want to say bless the owners hearts for giving the bus boys an opportunity at employment because most of the ones i’ve seen are mentally off to a point… but the bus boys can make your experience very uncomfortable. I’ve seen them get in loud arguments with each other over money on the table, frequently talking to themselves loudly which draws customers’ attention, and constantly offering to take dishes out of the way you’re clearly not done with. I was out with a couple of my buddies one night, and one of the bus boys for reasons completely unknown, looked at my friend across the room and slowly put his thumb across his neck. My friend asked what his problem was and he said he didn’t know what he was talking about. Very strange, and very uncomfortable. Considering that and the food is just ok… 1 star is a gift. Does not live up to the hype.

I’ve been going to barnabys for years, I love their pizza. Their pizza has a little bit of a unique taste because they use a cracker crust unlike other pizza places that use traditional dough. Their food also doesn’t have that commercialized, mass produced taste like Pizza Hut or fazoili’s. Barnabys is also very warm and cozy, and is a nice place for families, and large groups.

Just thought you should see my review of the South Bend location. Keep up the great pizza Mishawaka! Live on Barnaby’s! «How disappointing! I am a long time Barnaby’s customer in Illinois. I travel to South Bend a few times a year and was thrilled to find two Barnaby’s locations. Last time I was here I tried the Grape rd. Location in Mishawaka. Yummmm yummm yummm! The crust was thin and crispy and the sauce and toppings were perfect. I read the reviews online and saw the high praise for this location and thought I needed to try it on this trip… What a disappointment! YUCK! The mushrooms were chopped into little pieces of nothingness. I could barely identify them. I asked for fresh garlic and got WHOLECLOVES throughout the pizza! The biggest offense was the thick, doughy crust. What a shame! You forgot how to make Barnaby’s pizza… Visit Mishawaka or Northbrook, IL for the right way to make a proper Barnaby’s pizza… Well, I decided to head over to the Mishawaka location and get a delicious Barnaby’s pizza for the ride back to Chicago. The dogs will be eating SB Barnaby’s pizza tonight. »

At 9:15 p.m. I called this location and asked what time they closed. I was told 11:00, and with it being Saturday it sounded right to me. I called because my family and I planned to do some shopping at Target, and eat dinner at Barnabys and what time Barnabys closed made a difference of where we went first. Since they closed at 11, we went to Target first. We arrived at 10:25 and the guy at the counter where you order says, «You know we close in 5 minutes, right?» I told him the female that I spoke with me told me 11(I also showed him where I called at 9:15 in the log of my phone) and he said she was wrong. Ok, soooo I understand this was her mistake, but her mistake ruined my plans, because the only reason I eat inside there is their reasonably priced salad bar. So since I still had to feed my kids, I ordered a couple things to go, unhappily, because I wanted to dine in. After I pay, I notice on my receipt he charged me 40 cents per each to go item I ordered for the to go boxes!!! Are you kidding me??? First of all, 40 cents a box is frigging ridiculous for anyone, but considering the incident where his employee made the mistake of telling me the wrong closing time, and me ordering food to go only because of his employees mistake when I wanted to eat there, and then charge me??? I have went to this establishment off and on since I was a child, for 30 years, and I will NEVER go back over 80 cents because that is how the manager chooses to treat people. It’s not about the money, it’s the point. Come to find out this guy was the manager! Way to take care of your customers!!! Lost a lifelong customer over 80 cents. Ridiculous! Not a way to run a business.

We stopped in here last night with basically no information about what it was like. We were pleasantly surprised. It reminded me of a German pub just minus the bad German food. We ordered two pizzas and fried pickles and fried cauliflower. All were very good. Not the best pizza I have ever had but still very very good. It reminded us somewhat of Pizza King pizza.

On the counter there was a big sign that says system down no beer. So I go to the drink station and ask can I at least get a bottle of beer? No. How about a glass of wine? No. What kind of system won’t allow you to get a glass of wine? You can see the bottles of wine sitting back there. So the guy says some body forgot to renew the liquor license. Well no beer with pizza reduces enjoyment by half. Then we get the pizza it’s tasteless. No seasoning. must have forgot the salt. But the worst thing is that it was undercooked. The dough was still raw. Location on Jefferson is terrific. Was really surprised at the quality difference. Left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing.

This place has great pizza that is different tasting from my own delicious homemade pizza, or anyplace else I’ve eaten. I love it. I see people ordering the sandwiches, and I always say, «They must be good, too. Look at how many people are ordering them.» But when it comes down to it, we order a big pizza, which feeds four happy people. Not cheap, but fabulous pizza and sodas for four for under $ 30 is not bad. I am not crazy about places with TV, but I will happily trot over to Barnaby’s for lunch whenever I am in town. I can overlook the TV and concentrate on the superb pizza.

Really awesome pizza. The cornmeal crust is crisp and medium thick. I love the Italian sausage. All the ingredients are tasty. I like getting the classic sausage mushroom onion and green pepper. The pizza style is Midwest? Not Chicago not east coast not Californian and not really that Italian. But it’s really tasty! I would give four or five stars if the place weren’t so dated. They seriously need update this place. The flooring is the original and is gross. So are the tables and pretty much everything else. I know they just redid their other location but I’m not driving that far Also while the staff is very loyal to the business, they could be more polite and smile at their guests.

I came here with my girlfriend and her family. We were craving some pizza. When you get here you fill out order cards and submit them. Then your number is called and you pickup your food. It’s a little funky but not a problem. The food was pretty good. My girl and I had pepperoni and cheese pizza, a simple pie. Her parents had sausage, peppers, and I think mushroom… I forget to be honest but it was their favorite mix. We enjoyed our food. For me, it wasn’t amazing but it was far from bad. I ate quite a bit and the cheesy bread is the cheesiest thing I’ve eaten in ages. I wonder if I should have have asked for more bread with my cheese. :p We had your Pepsi Product sodas and watched the Bears play against Cincinnati and it was a nice overall meal. The place was far from packed on a sunday early afternoon but the few people who were there all seemed to be enjoying themselves as we were. The only downside I could see was that for us four, the table was a bit small. We used the next one over to hold our pizzas so we had room for our own plates and what not. I’d go back for sure.

Pizza = very good Staff = rude a-holes Especially the AA girl with the piercings and crap in her face. Every time you call there to order you get nothing but bad attitudes. Especially the AA girl. Then you walk in to get your pizza and she is leaning on the counter with her hand on her chin looking like she just lost a winning lottery ticket. Gets your pizza, tosses it up on the counter saying nothing. The blonde working was fine. The other girl needs to quit or be fired, period.

Best in town. Pizza comes in many varieties, with a corresponding variety of palates to critique it. For my money, Barnaby’s has the best pie in town, hands down. I’ve seen it compared here to Chicago-style pizza, with which I am unfamiliar, but I can attest to the flavor. I think what sets their pizza apart is the crust. It is relatively thin but has a very distinct character. The sauce is excellent, as are the cheese and toppings. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere, particularly if you’re a fan of sports. Barnaby’s is a local favorite for reasons not without merit. Highly recommended.
