Penn Station East Coast Subs

Husband and I have eaten here maybe 8 – 10 times over the last few years, wait time is long but food has always been decent. However tonight we found a long, thin metal shard mixed in with an order of our French fries. When I called to let the manager know she offered to give us a new order of fries if we came back in. We didn’t care to come back in for new fries, just thought they should know they are serving up metal shards in their food. Manager honestly did not seem concerned.

My favorite location of the two that I am near. But it’s hard to mess up when you have the best subs in the area. Always fast and haven’t had a bad experience. I love the fresh tea.

Went in for a takeout order. The place was clean and bright. The wait staff was attentive and efficient. I’m from NJ, so I know what east coast subs really are… I was pleasantly surprised. Granted, they weren’t really «East Coast», but they were good for what they were. Good meat and taste. I thought it would be like Subway.

Generally this place is solid. Food quality is as good as any other Penn Station. Tables have been tacky in the past but generally I appreciate the flow and décor of the place. This most recent time I was disappointed though. I came for the December monthly special which is the Chicken Parmesan. The previous month was the Fried Bologna. They wouldn’t honor the new monthly special since they had leftover bologna. I’m disappointed that they wouldn’t honor it but I will give them the benefit of the doubt that perhaps the register isn’t setup to allow them to do this just for us. Still lame how disconcerned the employee was. This experience wasn’t very pleasant but I’ll give this place 4 stars on grounds that I’ve had good experiences previously.

Disappointing they do not offer soup or even a lower calorie chip. How about at least having baked Lays?
Italian sandwhich good, however do not believe you have any options on types of bread.
Took awhile to order.
Overall, okay but it would be nice to have done healthy options and not just fries as a side option.

The corned beef sub I got was very much like Quiznos — only way better. Better quality meat and cheese. Much more generous slices of cheese, as well. The bun/​roll is very much like a Pillsbury dinner roll you would bake in your oven. Super fresh and tasty!
They also remind me of an East coast chain called D’Angelo’s. They offer grilled meats (think cheesesteaks). Subway can’t match this.
The two young gentlemen on duty were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. I could not ask for a better experience.
I’d give the place 5 stars, except the pricing is about 10% too high for the portions. The bun is very thin, thus reducing the portioning of the contents. The width is a good third smaller than Subway. But, as I said, it is really fresh and tasty. Their version of a foot-​long goes for $ 10+, regardless the ingredients chosen.
I most certainly will be back. Probably a bunch of times.

Just tried for the first time today. I had a Ruben and my husband had a philly steak. Very good sandwiches and we will be back. The staff was very friendly with lots of smiles

Stopped in after work… had never been to a Penn Station. The food was really good. the employees were really nice and helpful. Manager is a really nice guy, engaged in conversation with us. I am a fan! I will definitely be back to try something a different.

I have been to a couple of these sub shops now and am very impressed with the food and service at this location. Food and staff were both very good. Staff goes out of their way to make you feel good about eating there! Plus a free cookie sample! Well laid out with plenty of seating. Michael was a great server and is what makes this place a big step above most of the other sub chains i have been to. Love these subs!
