I decided to take my son to Quest since I was short on time and know they usually aren’t too busy. I was told that pre-authorized price would be a maximum of $ 250, but would probably be less. I questioned the woman at the desk several times if yes the maximum would be $ 250 since I was freaked out about the non-insurance price of over $ 2 thousand dollars and was repeatedly told that no more than $ 250. So I get a bill for another $ 34. I called billing and they said if additional testing is needed they can charge more and that the ANA was positive and additional testing was required. I told them that my paperwork shows the ANA was negative. They said I needed to have the doctor’s office to call them to correct their billing. I told them this was unreasonable because the doctor’s office is concerned with their own billing and not their’s and I can send them the paperwork proving it was negative. I was told I still needed the doctor’s office to call and I asked to speak to a manager. I was put on hold and the lady came back on the line and said that her and her manager figured out that what she had told me before was incorrect and something about a co-pay or something(which I don’t have with this PPO plan) and that the price is $ 284. These people are dishonest and I will not be using their lab again!!!
