I will never shop here again. When I walked in they had a no gun sign. How stupid it that. That is just telling all the criminals that they will not get shot at when they come to rob this stupid place.

I live very close to this liquor store. There are several near me so I usually rotate if I’m feeling really«thirsty» regularly. Parkway has a decent selection. I’m not an exotic drinker but I’ve never not been able to find what I’m looking for. The prices are about average for the area. On great occasion I’ll notice that my vodka has changed price here. Sometimes it’s higher than the other store I go to. Sometimes it’s lower.((Shrugs shoulders)) The staff here is always friendly too. I’m happy to give them my business.

This place is a stone’s throw away from me, so it’s become my «go to» liquor store. The selection is pretty hefty, a lot of wines, and cigars too. The whole place looks like it was made out of barn wood, which I find kinda cool. The wooden floors creak as you step and overall I rate this place 4⁄5 stars, only lacking a star because the staff doesn’t ever seem like they’re into talking(which is why I’ve never asked suggestions or questions) but i’ll keep trying.

I have always had very good experiences here. From the selection to the prices, I have no need to go anywhere else. The staff is another bonus… they have gone out of their way to help me find something, they are always extremely polite and happy, and are always willing to assist me on the phone as well. And 10% of wine on Tuesdays is a good deal!

Parkway Liquor is very close to my home, I could actually walk there. I think their prices are competitive with any other liquor store, but I prefer the«ambiance» and proximity of Parkway. I agree with Jeff H that this store differs from most liquor stores, as it doesn’t have that sterile, grocery store feel. The squeaky wooden floors almost make me feel like I’m entering a saloon. They have a decent selection of wines and beers, a few microbrews and mixers, like most places. The service here is always friendly and efficient. If I’m not sure what I want they will help me, also, I went in with a special request one day, I learned that they don’t carry what I was after but offered to order it for me. How kind! I have also ordered a keg or two from Parkway(for my birthday party, not just a random Friday night), and they always load it into my car for me(even though I’m really strong). The wine cellar has been a part of the store since I can remember, it wasn’t a part of their remodeling, and I don’t see a wine clerk being hired on at any point in the near future. That doesn’t really seem like the vibe of Parkway liquor, but again, it has been my experience that they will help you with anything you need.

I’ve lived near enough to this liquor store that it’s a shame I’ve never been there. I had just noticed a couple of weeks ago that it looked like they expanded into the storefront next to it and then we got a Val-Pak coupon for the place last week. So, in my effort to visit every liquor store in the city I decided to stop in. It reminded me a little of Gomer’s South(the one on Holmes) except not as crowded, it had that same woody feel but with the bonus of not having to deal with Missourians. It looked like the sort of place John Candy would have bought beer from in «The Great Outdoors». I like a liquor store with a little charm like that rather than the grocery store feel of a Lukas Liquor Superstore. The beer selection was a bit pedestrian, though they did have sixers of my beer of the moment, Modus Hoperandi. What was interesting was the wine room with a controlled temperature wine room built in. The wines in the controlled room are stored at cellar temps and they were nicely merchandised. The store could be helped by having a wine clerk but I think this room is the new addition to the store so maybe they will have a wine clerk in time. I can’t say that they have quite the wine selection of the nearby Tipsy’s or Gomer’s Lenexa but they do fill most wine consumer needs. The prices on beer and wine were in line with every other store in the area. The clerk, most likely the owner, was very friendly without being annoying which is a fine line. Overall, a nice mid sized liquor store well suited to meet nearly anyone’s needs.
