Silver Hangers

This used to be the best cleaning service in the area but they have unfortunately closed.

I have used Silver Hangers for over 10 years and have never had one issue of them not returning all of my articles or cleaning everything to 100% satisfaction. Along with my everyday clothes, i take them my expensive stuff like Issey Miyake shirts, Armani wool suits, Zegna cashmere sport coats and a really nice Missoni mohair sweater. The counter help is always pleasant and courteous. My favorite person is the hip gal who I think is the owners wife — she has the best personality!!! Do not the bare interiors of the front fool you, this place is the best kept secret of dry cleaners in Kansas City!

I’ve taken at least 50 items here and all of the services have been good and inexpensive. I did take in a dry clean only skirt with a bad stain on it. They got in touch with me and had me sign a waiver that if the stain doesn’t come out, they are not responsible. I got it back and the stain was mostly out, but I might try washing the item or another dry cleaners. However, I am the one who got the stain on the skirt, so they don’t always come out.

Absolutely horrible place with the manager who have no professional values. Kept my white coat for over a week and when I got it back, forget about washing, the stains were worse than before. The owner/​manager is such a jerk that he failed to realize that they have messed up my white coat and simply said that often stains can spread and they do not promise cleaning them.
Would never recommend this to anyone. Except for a couple of nice front desk girls, the whole service is extremely pathetic.

It is rumored that Silver Hangers is so awesome at what they do that other dry-​cleaners send their items here. At least that is what someone told me in trying to convince me to check out this hole-​in-​the-​wall dry cleaner. I’m glad I decided to give them a go because the pricing was unbelievably reasonable. I believe I paid less than $ 15 for 2 suit jackets, 3 dresses, 2 blouses and 1 pair of pants. Customer service is so-​so, but you’re really paying for the inexpensive service, so it’s easy to look past. And boy is the service great! If you drop off your items in the morning, they’re ready for pick-​up same day after 5p.
I do want to point out that Silver Hangers DOES accept credit cards, but the minimum charge must be $ 10. So if you’re only dropping off a few items, be prepared to pay cash.

Wish I didn’t even have to give 1 star. This place is lower than low. We dropped off a brand new $ 300+ comforter, when we returned to pick it up they tried to give us someone else’s comforter! When we said they were giving us the wrong one and we wanted ours back (nicely) the OWNER immediately raised his voice saying it wasn’t his problem!!! Not only did they steal our comforter, they also did not apologize once OR offer any kind of compensation for the stolen comforter or the PREPAID FEE we paid for the comforter to be cleaned.
The owner is a classless jerk with no conscience or business ethic. They deserve to get shutdown. Do yourself a favor and never, ever, ever even look at this place. Go anywhere else!
