Taking into account all factors including price, time, convenience, and quality, Spring Creek is a solid choice for bbq. It’s not a place I would take guests for a good exposure to Texas bbq, but coming here certainly beats waiting 2 hours at some other places, and the cost is super reasonable(less than $ 20 a person including drinks/dessert). Plus, free ice cream and bread, and unlimited refills on most of their sides! I opted for a combination platter and got the ribs, brisket, and black pepper sausage. Ribs and sausage were good, I’d definitely recommend both, but the brisket was pretty dry and I didn’t end up finishing it. For my side, I opted to get the fried okra, which is one of the premium sides(no refill) that takes the place of the unlimited-refill sides you can otherwise get, but it was super filling and really, really tasty. Their bread is actually freshly baked on the spot(and not the random slices of grocery-store white bread), and definitely one of the best buns I’ve ever had! The servers also come around every so often with a basket of fresh buns to offer to tables. Same deal with the free ice cream(which is vanilla Blue Bell’s) — they just bring it up to your table and ask if you want any! I also got a banana pudding because I hadn’t realized at the time that you get free ice cream, but I didn’t really enjoy it that much. Moral of the story — free ice cream and bread. And I guess the ribs/sausage too

Gross. Not even of you pay me. In regards to pros and cons there are no pros. I take that back the bathroom was clean. I noticed when I went to throw up. Obviously everyone will not share my opinion because there are many cars here on the parking lot then again it is Saturday. This is some of the worst tasting BBQ I have ever had in my life. I’m trying to understand why people don’t believe in using seasoning. I’m also trying to understand why people think it’s okay to cook meat in the oven with little to no seasonings then slap Waterdown barbecue sauce on top of it and call it barbecue. This is not BBQ this is hot meat with tomato sauce on it. This is a fairly decent neighborhood possibly I’m going to have to go to a more urban environment find decent tasting food. I thought you’re supposed to use mustard in potato salad but I guess it’s okay to have mashed potatoes with mayonnaise. It not only is not tasty I could actually say its gross.

I love the moist brisket here. Ribs aren’t as good as Pappas, but certainly not bad. Bread is good if you can catch them when they’re fresh out of the oven. The place is really clean with a nice TX theme to it. Service was prompt and courteous. Free bread and drink for people waiting for their to-go orders.

Was not impressed at all. It’s literally cafeteria food, sides are nasty. The portion of protein is really small compared to other barbecue places. Honestly would rather do papas or goodes.

It was a rainy day and the place was not as packed as it would on a Saturday. The ribs is tender and fell off the bone. BBQ sauce was homemade and tasty. The house sausage comes in two flavors, original and peppered, both are rich with layers of spices. I picked as many sides as I could fit on my tray. Aside from the delicious meat, I got the mac n cheese, baked beans, and potato salad. All the sides are right on the money. The freshly baked bread is so good we have to have seconds. The peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream is wonderful and heavenly. Will definitely recommend.

Good food as usual. What I didn’t mention is that we have a dinner group of fourteen or so that go out every Monday evening. We will strike this store from our approved list. The management has elected to eliminate wine from the list of offered beverages. Not all of the ladies care to drink beer.

I love how they have the bbq cooking next to cutting and serving. I love the atmosphere is like. Kind of cold inside. But it’s cool. I love when I come here on Sunday, where there’s a complementary ice cream. I enjoy. Always smells good. And pretty waitresses. I love it.

Being new to Texas, I love eating BBQ every couple weeks. Spring Creek BBQ was recommended by some people who live close by. They said it is great. I do like the décor & it is cleaner than most restaurants in the area. I especially like the fact that they hire so many high school students and somehow get them to learn to provide good service. This will help them prepare for college and future jobs… thank you for believing in this generation! The food was worth the $$$, but not great. I would not order the ribs again. Still, the sides are great and you can go back and get more.

I usually don’t eat at too many gain restaurants but I grew up going to spring creek at home in the Dfw area. I have only tried this restaurant once and the meat was dry and the sides were watered down, especially the corn. Service was good but wouldn’t return. Maybe we just went at an off time and it wasn’t fresh.

Talking about a ripoff. I ordered a sandwich and baked potato with two sides. It cost 20.00 for this!!! The people in front of me had a full plate of food and it cost them 17.00 This has to be THE absolute biggest ripoff barbecue place in Texas!

I grew up in KC. So I’d say I know BBQ. I was not impressed with this place at all. Meat wise, yes they did a great job and it was quality meat. I now know why KC is known for its BBQ sauce cause this place had horrible sauce. It did not compliment well. We tried the coleslaw, potato salad, beans, rolls, Mac n cheese, and corn on the cob… wow. Definitely buffet quality food. Not good. I miss my KCBBQ now much more :/

New to Texas but this a great place for Texas bar b q! Close to my work and my boss loves this place, it’s very clean and fast service. The endless side items and bread is also a big plus to me. The lunch special was $ 9.99 I think which is a good deal with large amounts of meat and endless sides.

Great ribs, potatoes and sandwich plates. Awesome atmosphere with a small town feel to it. Everyone is friendly here. I would wish for a bigger beer selection though but still a great place to come. I frequent here about once every other week. Love it!

My husband and I have driven by this place many times and tonight we decided to give it a try since we have not been able to find a decent bbq place near our home. We pulled up in the parking lot which was packed and thought that it must be a sign that the place had great food. WRONG! We managed to choose a night that was spirit night for a local elementary school. Despite the hordes of screaming kids running wildly throughout the restaurant, we decided that we would stay to try the food. After all, it’s not the restaurant’s fault that parents don’t know how to control their children and we thought it was actually good that the establishment supported local schools. I ordered the loaded baker with chopped bbq and my husband had the brisket plate. Since I ordered my baked potato at one end of the line and found it waiting for me at the other end of the line, I didn’t actually see it being assembled. I could see the meat, cheese and bacon so I know they were there, but I’m just going to have to assume they put butter and sour cream on it. It was so dry that I had to go back and ask for more bbq sauce since the single 2 ounce cup I’d filled was not enough to give the potato some moisture. The BBQ sauce itself is watery and thin, not like most Texas BBQ sauces I’m used to seeing. I personally hate to ruin a good moist piece of beef by putting sauce of any kind on it, but this potato was inedible without it. Hubby said the brisket was moist and tender, but had no flavor. Like me, he rarely uses sauce, but had to resort to covering his meat with it so it would have some flavor. The pinto beans were not very good either. The rolls that everyone raves about looked beautiful, but they were cold and hard. A big disappointment since we were really looking forward to trying them. Needless to say, we won’t be back. We will continue in our quest to find a good place for bbq in our vicinity. These food chains just don’t know how to do it right. Somebody with a good family recipe would make a killing here in the Sugar Land/Missouri City area.

Used to be great when they opened. Sizes of portions got smaller. Rather go to the Swinging Door.

While in a training class for work, I stopped here with a group of my classmates for dinner. The group contained people from all over the US and one of the Houston locals recommended the spot to us. We were all very happy with it! Everyone had the combination platter that includes up to three meats of your choice and we all shared. The chicken and beef brisket were the best choices. The ribs were dry and just ok. The sides are unlimited so we filled up our plates with coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, potato salad and baked beans. Every 5 minutes or so, a girl would come around with a basket of rolls straight out of the oven which were amazing! The butter would just melt instantly on them and we seriously had about four rounds of the rolls! To top off the dinner, you can get peach cobbler with ice cream for $ 4. It was the best $ 4 I have ever spent in my life. Incredible. OMG! Thank you SpringHouse for making my Texas beef brisket experience a great one!

Pretty good barbecue here. My friend got a combination of different meats and I got ribs, and we shared it so we could have a bit of everything. I actually thought the sausage and brisket were better than the ribs, so don’t jump so quickly on getting a rib dinner. We happened to come in near the end of the major dinner hour and right before the kitchen brought out more meat so what we got was probably sitting out for a bit, but it was still pretty good. After you pick out your meats, you can fill your plate with side dishes, of which we got a good amount and variety. I believe in total we paid around $ 25 between two people to get a little bit of everything. There will be someone who walks around with a basket of bread. Take advantage of every opportunity that the person walks by your table because that bread is amazing. The place is really spacious and would be really good for large parties. Service is really nice, and even though they were nearing the end of the night they brought out lots of fresh bread for us so that my friend could fill her takeout box with them to bring home.

I called these guys up first and said, «Do you have any vegetarian options?» The man who answered kind of laughed, «This is Texas barbecue!» Okay… guess not… So we get there and I ordered the«new» item, the pulled pork sandwich, and it was delicious for damn sure. About halfway into our meal I saw this lady walk out with a HUGE salad! It looked like it had a variety of vegetables in it and I was like«Dude, wth, this guy said there were no vegetarian options.» This girl walks around with a basket full of bread rolls and asks if you want any. «If you go around and have some of those left, just bring that whole basket and leave it here.» She thought that was funny but didn’t do it =(haha I didn’t expect her to. Prices are decent. Banana pudding was good. Mom is a picky eater and she enjoyed her ribs. All in all, I’d go there again.

The Question: «So, what’s good here?» My Answer: «Hm – everything is good enough, nothing is amazing. Unlimited sides and free Blue Bell ice cream on Sundays.» The Response: «Why don’t we eat here every Sunday?» I think anyone will admit that there’s nothing amazing about Spring Creek, which is why they offer incentives like unlimited sides, unlimited bread rolls, and sabbath ice cream. But, if you’re left stranded looking at the menu, I suggest the ribs which exceeded my average expectations. Brisket, sausage, chicken were all decent. If you’re okay without unlimited sides, the Chopped Baker is a great alternative. Sunday Cheat Sheet: take your free vanilla ice cream and dump it in a cup of root beer. Miracles do happen. God is good.

By no means is it the best BBQ. I like the concept of unlimited sides… but I still can’t get pass the first plate. I really like the mac and cheese. It has a nice cheesy sauce that you couldn’t get with powdered cheese. Cole slaw and potato salad are standard. The rolls are out of this world though! It’s great to eat fresh bread instead of that regular bread loaf you can get at your local grocery store. The meats are decent. I’ve never had any dry meat here yet. My favorite is the chicken. Crisp skin and juicy inside! The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the turkey. It wasn’t dry but tasted rather salty. Even BBQ sauce couldn’t salvage it. But tonight I made a take out order through the phone with an order of a whole chicken. Unfortunately when I came… they ran out. They asked me if I was willing to substitute it for something else. That is when I decided on the turkey. I wish the cashier’s customer service skills would have kicked in then. Not only did I not get my beloved chicken but I had to pay extra for something I didn’t want in the first place? It might be just a few bucks but I just wish my business was a little more appreciated that’s all.
