I was in the area around lunch time, so I decided to stop and grab a quick lunch. First I walked in and thought it looked okay, I had to wait until someone acknowledged that I was actually standing there waiting to be seated, then I had to ask the man at the register when I was told to just sit anywhere, next we waited for the waitress to take our drink order and give us silverware. anyway, that never happened, so being a buffet my nine year old son and I decided to just go and get food, once back at the table it took another five minuets for the drinks and such… then there is the food, my son, who is anything from a picky eater made the statement that the food tasted«nasty», I must agree with him. One thing that I noted that was particularly bad was what they called«Sushi», their spicy tuna was made with canned tuna fish, come on, that is so wrong on so many levels, anyway… we paid and that is that, never going to return to that establishment.

This can be classified as one of those places I don’t want to give a bad review to but it kind of deserve it. I’ve been here a couple times and most times, its because of how close it is to my house. The décor there hasn’t changed since the first time I came there years ago. Dingy carpet and same dirty tables/chairs. Its dark inside because they never open the blinds. Probably wouldn’t want to see the place in bright sunlight. The food is always the same. They are hit and miss with a lot of things. Most of the food is usually cold and dried out because not a lot of people are there or people just don’t touch it. I love their salted-friend blue crab. Best in town. I usually do enjoy my meals there. They aren’t stellar but they aren’t the worst I’ve had. If you can look past the décor, I’d say you’d have an ok meal.

Of the three buffets I’ve been to in Mobile, this is the worst of them. I tried many of their offerings and all of them were overcooked. Each meat-like substance was very chewy, whether it was chicken, shrimp, pork or beef and I hate chewy. If I wanted chewy I’d buy some jerky, thank you. One serious annoyance I have is when breaded and fried shrimp are breaded and fried with their tails still intact. I mean, come on! What is the point of that? You have to tear the stupid thing apart to eat it. The egg rolls were mushy. How is that possible? Not to mention that the spring rolls were too sweet. It tasted like nutmeg and cinnamon with cabbage. *insert raised eyebrow* I saw a review for this place over at Yahoo and to my utter amazement someone actually said that this is the best Chinese in Mobile, and the even boast that they should know because they’ve eaten at most of them. Something is very wrong with that assessment because I’ve only eaten at three buffets and already it’s at the bottom of the barrel. Nope I don’t like it and if you do, more power to you. The one thing I did like was their banana pudding. That sure was yummy but I don’t go to Chinese buffets for American food, thank you. If I wanted American, I’d go to an American restaurant.
