Pastry Shop

I will start by saying that the 3 things I tasted were very good, Heath bar cookies & chocolate and vanilla petit fors. However, my sister and I were looking for a place to make a 50^th wedding anniversary cake for our parents. When my sister called the owner was very abrupt and acted like she didn’t have time to talk on the phone. We chalked this up to maybe they were busy. When we went in today the girl at the counter was very nice. However the owner was there but wouldn’t come out to talk to us and relayed all the information through the counter girl who had to go back and forth. She wouldn’t even poke her head out to speak. I’m sorry but if I’m about to spend $ 200-​$ 300 on some cake you could at least say hi, be a little more professional, and act like you want my patronage. But I don’t know, maybe she didn’t.

One of a kind bakery!!! The staff has created beautiful cakes for my son’s birthday for the past two years. His birthday is in June and I went into the shop three weeks ago to generate ideas and within minutes they took my vision and came up with a great theme… that far in advance! Other bakeries would have said «come back closer to the party date», but, the staff at the Pastry Shop understand and appreciated my excitement and eagerness. It’s those little things that make a customer feel appreciated and respected… so they will forever have my business!

Going to the Pastry Shop is like stepping into a store on Main Street USA in the early 1900s — it is so cute! There is a big case with a wide selection of little pastries and cookies. The staff is very friendly and patient (they don’t get irritated if you ask «what’s in that?» about all of the goodies). There are a lot of beautiful big display cakes that look delicious, though I have never ordered one. The treats are a little pricey (about $ 1.50 for a small tart or petit four) but so much better than getting a bag of oreos at Winn Dixie. Heads up: cash and check only.
