Good location, courteous staff, clean rooms. I stay at Marriott properties often and this one is pretty standard. I don’t patronize the complimentary breakfasts or evening receptions since I prefer a different kind of food choices, so I can’t comment on them. However, one of the food service workers did go out of her way to get me some ice while I was waiting on the ice maker in the room fridge to catch up. Would stay here again next time I’m in Mobile.

We stayed there from 727⁄2013 til 8÷17÷2013. We were in Mobile to visit my husband who is attached to a US Naval ship that is being built there. Our son has autism and the staff was WONDERFUL to us and our son. They spoke to him every time they saw us. If we needed anything they got it for us right away! The only complaint I would have was the other guest! But the Staff was WONDERFUL! Tiffany, Melissa and Kimberly are the front desk women who always helped us. The cleaning staff was always kind and so polite! If you have to come to Mobile this would be a great place to stay! Indoor pool great, outside grill and patio area also great! GREAT if you have children with/without special needs!

Nice rooms, good place to spend a period of time away from home. Food at breakfast except for the oatmeal was lousy. There was never enough Food at evening reception for all guests. Food at evening reception was lousy. Had a drainage problem in my shower tub and after repeated requests for maintenance I just gave up asking and dealt with the slow drainage. Internet was very good Don’t stay in rooms 116, 216, or 316 as they are right over the courtyard and folks gather there at 0445 to smoke and drink coffee and like to talk and are there until 10pm at nite so don’t plan on going to bed early.

Overall — This hotel’s top feature is that it’s a 2 minute drive to my office if I hit the green light, 3 minutes if I don’t. Set between Airport Blvd and Cottage Hill Rd on the south I-65 service road, the location is great for me. Really, that’s the only selling point for me. In all other aspects, this is your standard Residence Inn. It’s a solid step up from any other ‘residence’ style hotel, but for frequent travellers, the Courtyard and Fairfield next door give you twice the Marriott Points the Residence does. Not to mention there’s currently a $ 25/night gas card promo running at those two hotels. Unfortunately, I’m trying to eat better while I’m on the road, so having a stove top, microwave, and full refrigerator is better for me! Staff/Front Desk — 8⁄10 — Friendly and accomodating. I haven’t really had much interaction other than the infrequent run down to the market for a drink or snack once or twice a week. Check in is fast and easy, as is checkout. I wouldn’t really expect any more, though no one has done anything to distinguish themselves or stand out in my mind. So… a solid B+ here! Lobby — 7⁄10 — Fairly small eating area, coffee stand, seating is standard Residence Inn… looks nice, not all that comfortable or inviting. Market is well stocked with essentials: snacks, chips, granola/protein bars, ice cream, microwave meals and snacks, and sodas, water, energy drinks, etc. There’s a Courtyard next door, so if you want a hot meal(bar food for the most part) you have that option. Room — 9⁄10 — Again, standard Residence Inn. Using a chain is nice, you usually know what you’re gonna get. Room appears well maintained, ample seating for a 1 bedroom suite, incluing couch(sleeper), recliner, computer desk and chair, kitchenette table with 2 chairs, queen bed. Furniture is newer. Kitchen — 7⁄10 — Plus side: Full refrigerator, 2 burner stovetop, toaster, microwave, dishwasher. Minus side: Cookware is horrible. Ridiculously thin pans… don’t plan on cooking with them unless you want to scorch your food and set off some smoke alarms. A $ 15 non-stick pan from target will do you well here. Bathroom: 7⁄10 — Small tub, but ample sized bathroom and toilet. I don’t really like bathroom set ups with sinks and vanity outside the actual bathroom, but in this case it works. The vanity counter is huge, and there’s a large closet with hangars and shelves. Bedding: 4⁄10 — The bedding is new, the sheets and pillows fresh. But the mattress is too damn firm! I can’t stand a firm mattress and this one is more rock than firm. I’ve stayed in 3 different rooms hoping I’d find one different… to no avail. I’m actually more comfortable sleeping on the couch. Not a great night’s rest, but it beats waking up each morning with a sore back. Wish list item: A LUGGAGERACK/STAND! I don’t want to completely unpack and repack for each business trip. I have to put the decorative vase on the ground and use the small nightstand table on the far side of the bed to put my suitcase on.

I’ve stayed here 4 times in the last 10 months. I’ve experienced better and worse. The first time — my room had a leak. I was forced to move — with my 2yo child — in the middle of the night with no help. I was even made to go get the key for the new room. Was seriously unimpressed with the way they handled the situation. To be fair, however, Marriott did apologize and gave a refund. Second time — It was TOP notch. No complaints. Third time — They honored my request for a first floor room and called to make sure things were satisfactory. Fourth time — They did not honor the 1st floor request, but they did give me an upgrade that was acceptable. All in all — If I’m in the area, I know where it is and how to get to and from the hotel, which always make it easier when traveling.

Absolutely fabulous! Super clean and comfortable — excellent AC system for the hot and humid Mobile weather. Front desk very nice and helpful. Will definitely be a repeat customer every time in Mobile from here on.
