A great place for any meal. For this trip we settled in on the moon pie banana pudding. A very healthy size serving which wifey and I split. Instead of vanilla wafers they had half moon pie crumbled up and remaining half on top. The dessert topped of our trip to the Cajun Cookoff at Cathedral Square, which will be a diff review.

Excellent experience. The food was delicious and the service was great, even on a Sunday lunch rush. The location is wonderful being in older part of Downtown Mobile. The ambience is outstanding. I highly recommend eating here for breakfast or lunch. The crab bisque was amazing.

This establishment has great customer service. Our server was the best. She made sure that our coffee was filled, out water glasses were full, our food was served timely. The chef made sure that the dishes were GREAT! I had a sausage omelet with grits and toast, my friend had Crab Bisque. Both meals were STUPENDOUS!!! I will return to the restaurant on my next go round to Mobile.

Spot of Tea had some good points and not-so-good points. The coffee was lackluster, but my companion, a tea aficionado, gave the tea two big thumbs up. The Cajun seafood omelet was tasty, and the fish sauce packed a punch. The hash browns were kind of off-tasting, like the oil they’d been cooked in was a little past it; shoulda gone for the deadly hash browns. Service was friendly and professional. There was a Bernie Sanders rally and march across the street. Feel the Bern!

Far and away the best bananas foster french toast and eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. I would move to Mobile just for this place.

After reading reviews on Unilocal,we decided to go to The Spot Of Tea on a Saturday hoping to enjoy a great breakfast. Sorry… I don’t get what all the«Hoop la» about this amazingly ordinary(at best) restaurant. If you like paying absorbent prices for waffles or eggs, then this is your place. We had strawberry waffles with an extra charge for what amounted to be strawberry syrup. Come on people… are you kidding me! The bill was almost $ 30.00, plus tip for waffles and juice. Our waitress was great… but that’s about the only thing I can say positive.

I keep wanting to rate this at 3 stars but every time I done somewhere else and compare, I can’t. Was there on a busy Sunday, waited an hour or more for seating. Once seated, found myself in Shenanigans, a bar connected to Spot of Tea. Funny thing was that there were 6 open tables, yet a crowd was still waiting to be seated at the front door of the restaurant. That was odd thing #1. #2 was the thing stuck to the inside of my water glass. Needless to say I did not drink any of it. #3 was the floater in my wife’s water. She didn’t drink any either. For a place that is proud of its breakfast/brunch, it sure had a limited breakfast menu. Many of the items looked like well-constructed meals, often with sea food, so a plus if that’s your taste. There is no kids menu, but a note on the menu informing you they can make small orders for children, which they did. Food was fine, nothing to write home about, coffee was typical cheap restaurant coffee that only tastes fine if you drown it in cream or sugar. The biggest issue we ran into besides the unwashed dishes was the service, mainly that of the hosting staff. They were frazzled the whole time and could have placed dozens more customers if they could figure out what was going on. They raided silverware from unused tables rather than bringing out fresh ones, etc. Perhaps they were frazzled with dealing with the high number of guests, and hopefully they’ll figure it all out soon. It has a lot of potential but seemed to miss the mark.

This is our place for brunch the next day after our mardi gras parade and ball. The eggs Cathedral and the banana foster French toast are my two favorite menu items. The service in impeccable. We normally have a party close to 14 and they always have everything in order. I definitely recommend this place.

Great customer service and the food is delicious! Our server was outstanding! Super friendly and gave us tons information about the mardi gras parades even though the restaurant was packed. She made us feel like we were always a top priority and not a hassle. We ordered the eggs cathedral and it was a delicious concoction of all our favorite breakfast foods met with a wonderful blend of southern sea food flavors. The sea food sauce was creamy and a perfect complement to the eggs, sour kraut, potatoes, and peppers. The only area where they could improve this dish is the crab cake. Hardly any crab, but still super yummy. I also ordered the cajun sea food omlette, which was a delight. No complaints here. Large fluffy omelette and perfectly cooked fresh cajun shrimp that weren’t too salty. The french toast stick we ordered on the side is actually an omelette covered in powdered sugar! The waffle tastes a lot like fortune cookie. We loved it!

Understandably busy Mardi Gras parade morning, however, blaming not seating over 9 empty tables because there’s a party of 80 in the back that the cooks are trying to catch up with… no. Poor management. A party that size should have been booked earlier and already prepared for OR turned away due to today’s festivities and the enormity of said party, if they hadn’t made prior booking or reservations. Still waiting to be seated after 1 ½ hrs. & we’d been told 30 mins.

Whatever you do make sure you order the deadly hash browns. Next time I’m in mobile I will be sure to. I did the create your own breakfast. The breakfast as a whole was good but the hash browns were incredible.

Food is pretty impeccable, if you can get it served to you in a timely manner. The kitchen was«swamped» because they had a party in the back. They didn’t let us know there would be a wait, and it took them 40 minutes to bring out our food. Our server was outstanding though, and made sure we knew that our order was still on her mind. I’d say come here just not when everyone else does, because the kitchen can’t handle a half-packed house.

Did not leave hungry after a serving of eggs cathedral. Good grits to boot. The Menu was extensive. Will become another regular stop when in town.

Mediocre at best. Driving through from New Orleans back to South Florida. Food was not great. I ordered the Hawaiian melt which was decent. My wife ordered the Cajun omelet. I tried her omelet and did not like it at all, she was unimpressed as well. I was originally going to order the seafood eggs Benedict but was informed that they were out of potatoes so I could not have the hash browns on the side. Parking sucked. Food was ok. A little expensive for what you’re getting. $ 10 for a little ham, pineapple and cheese melt with a side of salad?

I didn’t get to take advantage of the bloody mary’s but I will say it’s a neat vibe here(despite some people saying it reminds them of a 70s piano bar). Hey, it’s unique. Regardless of the atmosphere, the food is the reason to come here. The eggs cathedral is the well known dish here and my friend said they lived up to the hype. I had the seafood omelet with old bay seasoning. We’ll mark that one up as another success. I’ve only been here once as I’ve only recently moved to the area, but I plan on taking future guests here and making this my spot to hit up after the Sunday church service.

Eggs Cathedral. Absolutely delicious. Great coffee, too. This is the kind of place where we like to take our out-of-town guests to introduce them to Mobile’s great cuisine. Thanks, Tony. I haven’t been able to get past the Eggs Cathedral, but I’ll have to venture out and try something different next time I’m in.

Great place in downtown Mobile. Right in the middle of attractions, a lot of street 2 hr meter parking. I had no problem finding the parking spot and getting a table, but it’s 12:30 pm on a rainy Tuesday. Vey cozy place. Attentive and quick service. My server Tim was very nice and also Victoria started me with some drinks and had a very friendly personality. I ordered Banana Foster French Toast. Might be one of the most delicious things I’ve ever tried. Food came out super quick too. Either way, great find, absolute gem. I’ll make sure to come back whenever I’m in Mobile again.

This place was a great find in downtown Mobile. Open from 7am until 2pm on the day we went, they were packed but we got in quickly. Great food. Eggs Benedict style dishes are their specialty. But the omelette was awesome too. They have a wide variety of teas, and actually serve tea, complete with cucumber sandwiches and all the accompaniments. If in Mobile, find s way to get here.
