Recently visited The Admiral and this is located within the hotel. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming. I ordered from the small plates and had shrimp and grits which was very good. I also ordered a drink called the Bön Rien. Both items were my first try but I’m glad I did. The price was kinda high but that’s the norm in places like this

This place is awesome and has such a cool vibe. The food and price points beat any other establishment around. The star of the joint has to be the desserts though. The tempura fried moon pie and bread pudding are must tries! Kudos to the pastry chef! Will definitely be back.

Connected to the new Admiral hotel, Corner 251 adds a crisp and trendy option for downtown Mobile. The ambiance is pleasant and the service is good. For my first visit, I sat up at the bar and had a few Southern Pecan brews from nearby Lazy Magnolia brewery, the fried green tomatoes, and a spinach salad. I wouldn’t say the flavors were over the top great, but the take on the fried green tomatoes dish was unique. The tomatoes were fried and prepared with scoops of pimento cheese and a tomato soup esque sauce. I wish the taste would have matched the presentation, but all in all, not too bad. BOTTOMLINE: A descent option downtown for a drink and some small dishes.

We were eager to try Corner 251 after seeing other reviews posted. The place is in the Admiral Hotel on Government Street. The atmosphere is cool and sleek. In addition to the tables and the bar, there’s a little area over in the corner with sofas that would be a nice place to enjoy a drink and socialize. The food, well, it didn’t disappoint. I had the shrimp and grits, which is something I rarely order because the bar has been set so high on those. They were good. They only had 4 – 5 shrimp, but they were perfectly prepared and sauce and grits were delicious. My son had a burger with bacon and it looked fantastic. The sweet potato fries he got on the side were good. My husband ordered a blackened redfish sandwich and he enjoyed it. The dessert menu looked great, but we opted to skip it on that particular visit. We’ll definitely check it out on the next visit. The prices were average and the service was great! This would be a great place to grab lunch if you’re downtown, or a meal before or after a parade, as it is on the parade route.

Love the atmosphere and the staff are super sweet and helpful. Food is on point! I love the Salmon Ruben and the Portobello salad! If you add shrimp to any salad they are perfectly seasoned, fresh, and cooked just right.

I really enjoyed this place! I got chicken and waffles, which was really good. The waffles were sweet potato waffles with bechamel sauce on the chicken. For a appetizer my girlfriend and I got the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese over top. Neither of these items are great for keeping off the pounds, but worth it. The atmosphere was very clean and sleek and I have no complaints about the service. However, when we ate there was only one other table occupied. So, I don’t think too many people have found out about this place. My favorite thing about this place was the price point. The food was very modestly priced. For a entrée it was between 9 – 15 dollars. That is one thing I have been trying to find around Mobile. Good food at a sit down restaurant for a reasonable price. I would definitely come back here and recommend others to try it!

Corner 251; conveniently located inside a hotel in downtown Mobile. Atmosphere is modern/clean/sleek/industrial/trendy. I really like it. They have different type of seatings available that’s perfect whether you are by yourself with your laptop/latte or with a group and having relaxed dinner/drinks in the evening. We went there in the evening for light dinner and drinks. Next time I will try their baked goods and coffee in the morning… they sound mouthwatering on the menu. The food; it was good. I was pleasantly surprised! It would be really great if they had more veggie friendly/lighter options though. Downside: Our cocktails took(what seemed like) a long time to arrive, and they were not made very well. Next time I’d probably just stick with beer. But hey, sometimes nothing beats good craft beer and good french fries.
