Been with Aarons for over 4 years and loved our experience with them until recently. Within the last year they have lost their manager and each employee has quit shortly after. There is clearly something going on in the Oakdale CA store because each month there is new staff all together. We recently decided to send a couch back that was peeling and they convinced us to swap it out with a different«new» set. They even called to make sure we were going to make it in yet when we arrived they had no idea who we were or what we were talking about. Hello you just called me yesterday to confirm I would be here to arrange a new set now you don’t even know who I am even though I refreshed your memory. Go ahead, yeah I’ll wait while you go look up my account. The previous employees would have already had everything situated, manager would have greated us by name and we would have walked in said this one will do and set the time. Feeling uneasy at this point we went ahead and picked the couch waited forever for the papers and set the day of delivery. The day they delivered the couch they were late, didn’t bother calling, and within hours we realized the frame was broke. I contacted the store first thing when they opened the next morning and let them know. I asked them to send someone out the next day yet they still showed up that day. They took pictures and I was told I would hear from them of which I never did. This was the last straw and I called and told them to just come get everything. They never showed up the day that were supposed to so I called again to be told they wouldn’t come get anything until we paid a payment. I then spoke to the manager who didn’t even know what was going on and said they would have sent the guy from jackson to fix the couch but needed a payment. Really you need a payment before fixing the broken couch you delivered. So I need to wait a month since I made the payment in the store before the couch was even delivered. Beside I don’t want it fixed I WANTITGONE! I told him that I wasn’t paying for something that they left here broken and they were supposed to pick it right back up so I wouldn’t be paying for the time they left it here unwanted. Yet still time goes on and they want money for stuff I have repeatedly asked them to pick up. We have sent an item back before when the place was being ran right and never dealt with this. Remember we have been with them for over 4 years and are one of their top ten.

Horrible! You pay way to much in the end and the delivery crew are very rude cussing at me in front out my 2 year old daughter and 13 year old little sister. Then smoking on my porch! What kind of service is this? If you want to pay way to much and get cussed at and have them smoke at your house then go here!

Aaron;s is a ok place to get things if you don’t have any credit or going bankruped, other than that, they tryed to pull a fast one on me around the first of the year. The tax rate in calif went up, but I bought my TV last year, I got a phone call to ok a incress of my payment because of the higher tax rate. I called the Calif Tax office and asked if this was ok. I was told that if I bought the Item in 2012 then my tax rate is within that year and should be taxed for 2012, NOT2013! so i did not ok the incress. The lady told me this is a common practice for them. I left RTO because of there bad ways. now i find myself in the same boat! Thank God my Bankruptsy will be done soon so I can get my 700 credit score back. and hope i don’t have anymore storkes. I must say they are better than RTO and far nicer. RTO had a guy that was there So called bouncer and as you walk in the door, you got bad looks untill you left. I did not like that type of treatment, so i came to Aaron’s. Once i pay this tv off, no more. But Aaron’s is good for people trying to get back on there feet. and after working with the new Assistant manager at this place. I find that he is very helpful and will go out of his way to be clear and help you. I give him 5 out of 5 stars and hope the best for his new upcoming family. as for Ken the manager. He is a cool guy, but if you have a problem. he never returns your calls and dissapears when you walk in the store.

Went in today pricing out an item, the monthly payment for a 24 month lease is on every item, if you want to see the monthly payments for 4 month(120 day same as cash) 12 month or 18 month then you need to ask an associate. The woman I spoke to, Linda, was very helpful and up front about everything. I was given a quote for 12, 18 and 24 months and it did include the retail(cash) price on each quote. They do deliver the items on the floor/in stock in 24 – 48 hrs so there’s a good chance that the item you pick out is the one that will be delivered. There really isn’t a way to say you’ll be screwed unless you take the 24 month payment plan, there you’d end up paying 2.5 times the retail/cash priced amount. But that info is right there in black & white on the quotes. To me, the only way you can claim you were screwed is if you didn’t read the quote. If you know what payments you can afford and how much you’d be willing to pay in finance charges then go for it. They offer both used & new items(used are in green labels and new is in red) and a wider selection than Rent-A-Center. Also be aware that they will call your references and landlord.

They are selling credit here. Nothing more. Great place to go if you want to pay $ 2500 for a $ 500TV.

OK. this is a really beautiful store but… it needs to be ran better. first of all i always been a customer here. i moved from turlock to Modesto and decided to go to Modesto due to the old turlock manager being moved to Modesto. when i walked in no greet, store was dirty dusty,. a older man greeted me and said he was the store manager first of all he has no customer service didn’t ask what i needed or had respect when i asked for the other manager he stated that he got fired with a big smile like if he planned it or something. anyways, I decided to step out due to not being helped at all and decided to try Rent a Center for the first time in Ceres by Mitchell ave And absolutely love it there. prices are a bit high but Its Great i don’t regret my decision whatsoever. I think that if your looking for just great Customer service Rent a center is the way to go. plus, you get to take your item with if if u want it that same day.

Heard alot about Aaron’s. Decided to stop in and see what all the fuss was about. I agree with Doug S. Looks nice but the prices are deceiving. Asked about some of the furniture and was told that the items on the floor were for looks. If I wanted something it would have to be ordered, with no guarantee would be the same item. As far as the prices go??? I can find better deals.

Some good things about Aaron’s are the layout and customer service. When you walk in, the first thing you see is nice furniture. Off to a corner are the TVs and around the store are computers and appliances. The staff was helpful and tried to answer all my questions. Unfortunately, there are some questionable practices with this store. One is that their advertising insert does not list the overall prices of items, but what costs per month. So you see $ 99 dollars and think, «No way, that’s too good to be true!» At this point in our capitalistic lives, we’re used to the bait and switch, but what can be frustrating is that it is actually difficult to find the full price for items. Also, things listed on the ads aren’t always in the store. Aaron’s may be around for a while because they offer credit without a credit check. This may pull in enough business to keep them afloat, but it is unlikely.
