I went here today off chance with my friends. The foil chicken was the best I’ve had in a while. The fried rice was very good too. The chow mein was kind of bland and the place is a little old, but the service was good!

I used to go to this place back in the early 90’s. It was great. I moved back to Modesto and was excited to go there. The place has changed pretty drastically. The food quality is now very poor and the overall feel is not the same.

The wonton soup is so goooooood!!! I love the combo plates ! Even though service is crappy food is good !

If there was the option of giving this place zero stars I would… I used to go here back when I was in high school and the food and service was great… now the service has become so bad that I had to ask for every refill… my sweet and sour chicken was covered in a tomato/​maple syrup mix completely disgusting but I could have forgiven all that if it were not for the fact that me and my friends were forced to listen to religious music I am a Christian but there is a limit to how much klove I can listen to we asked owner to turn it down or change it and all we got was a few notches lower… will never return here again

My favorite chinese place in town. Its not the cheapest but the food is the best imo.

once going to DAVE WONG’s in stockton, the food here shouldnt be given to cats, Dry BBQ pork, dirty kitchen, out dated menu board, Chow mein, gooee, bbq rice stale and unflavorful, Panda Express does better than here, quality DROPPED ! Service an dparking is for local tweaker s, no one is ever in dining room, an when we di d din ein, servic ewas poor PRICES TO HIGH for what we get, STAY away GO to DAVE WONGS in Stockton !

First time here, my fiancé and I both loved. The food was delicious and unlike other places I’ve tried it’s pretty good! Was kind of hesitant about trying it but totally met my expectations. I had the pork chow mein with orange chicken and broccoli beef. The waiter was very helpful in providing knowledgeable answers to our questions about the menu. We will definitely be back:) keep up the good food and excellent customer service!!!

My husband and I decided to try this place last night and were pretty excited because it had 4 stars and I had heard from other people that it was good. However, our experience was definitely not 4 star. They advertise takeout and we decided to go into the restaurant and order our takeout because the menu online seemed incomplete and was different on different sites. We order crab puffs (crab Rangoon), beef chow mien, and two of the #1 meals which consisted of fried garlic chicken and pork fried rice. We took our food home and proceeded to eat our dinner. When we bit into the crab puffs, we discovered that they had given us cream cheese wontons (which cost less of course) instead which was hard to believe since we heard the waitress tell the kitchen staff our order and she specifically said crab puff. The sweet and sour sauce that came with them was the consistency of honey so it made it rather difficult to dip them. Then we started on our main course. The chicken was greasy and the skin was so overcooked that we ended up taking it off. The rice had good flavor but was really dry. The chow mien had no color to it, was dry, and had no flavor. We don’t usually need soy sauce but had to douse everything in it just to make it palatable. So after we were done eating we had agreed that we weren’t going back there, but it wasn’t horrible. Then, later that night and all the next day we both had upset stomachs and felt terrible. Since the Chinese food was the only thing we had eaten that was the same, we knew it was from that. Needless to say, we are crossing this place off of our list for good!

Quick service, and the food is pretty good. Wontons were a little chewy then I’m used to, but I liked it. Lemon chicken was hella good.

This place has been around forever. It is pretty consistent. It is American-​Chinese food. There is nothing truly authentic that sets it apart. Just a decent solid meal at a decent price.

The best place for this food!!! The Owner CeeCee is a wonderful Person, We Like Her Soo Much! The Food is Fresh, Great Prawns, BB Pork is Great, foiled chicken, Chowmein, Rice and veggies are all Excellent! And try there hot Sause. You will love it!!! :)

I’m a Chinese Foodie. And the dishes were pretty bad. I’ve had better from other small-​family based Chinese restaurants.
The combo plates are cheap, some starting from mid $ 4 but… I’m not impressed.
The garlic chicken was a weird big… chicken… fried ball. It was odd. Ordered Crab Wontons and I was served regular cream cheese wontons.
Meh.
There is a lot of cheap chinese foods that pack better plates and taste better, IMO.
I liked the service though, hence the two stars. But I pass.

Went there for lunch, Had the Orange Chicken. It was freshly made, tasted delicious.
The Waiter guy was pretty cool. What I was excited to find out was that they are associated with Dave Wong’s from Stockton. I Frequent DW and now that I am working here in Modesto, it is nice to know I can go here and get delicious Chinese food, for a good price.

I have been going here since I was a kid and the food is still great. One of the best in town.

Just so so. I wasn’t really that excited by the food. Probably won’t be back.

Gotta love your local Mom & Pop’s business.
Food is always consistent & affordable, (poor college student here!)
My new found fave: wonton soup, def. my comfort food.
For their takeout. they come in interesting lil tin trays, diff from the usual
chinese takeout boxes.
Service is friendly & attentive.
If you come on a good day, you’ll catch their lil helpers taking your drink orders. Cute!
Garlic chicken is still as good as always.
Remember to tip the kiddies!

I love the orange lights. The food is OK but if they remove the orange lights that heat up the food here I’ll have no reason to come back.
