I sold 2 Apple laptops to Khalil at Gadget. He gave me a very good price and handled things professionally. Returned 5 months later to buy an iPad and a tv and again received great value and great service. This place is fantastic and the boss there is a class act. Can’t say enough good things about this place — and I hope they enjoy great success because all businesses should be this good. 5 stars!!!

Calil (I hope I have the spelling right) was very on top of his product in terms of hardware, networks, services, fees, etc. But more importantly, he was more than fair. He went above the call of duty to help us in a difficult situation. I felt safe dealing with him. I will certainly deal with him again. Plus his customer service was outstanding. He helped us gladly and with a smile.

RUN — — DON’T WALK… away from these sheisters. He lost my 1^st laptop when I took it for repairs… «it got stolen — my employee got off with it» he said, then had the nerve to charge me for a newer by a yr or 2 one because no others were offered worth having — no worries or even mention of ALL MY INFORMATION on it… gave him another chance some 2 yrs later, this month — -bought used (not smart) one yr old 49″ TV and a used HP laptop «for $ 414.00 plus a new Kindle». OK…1^st, it’s not a Kindle, 2^nd, not new. Now the laptop has a key so loose it’s easily removed with use. The list goes on. The worst is the attitude we get for complaining by way of saying «we are pretty discouraged at this point». I said that when somebody spends $ 440, they kinda feel like stuff should work when they get it home… he reminds me of the 30 day warranty (thank God) and says he moves «thousands a day through here» & that $ 440.00 is no big deal… I kinds chuckled too — -maybe $ 440 isn’t much for him, but… I didn’t say it. Sigh… we are just very, very, very discouraged. Now gotta return the laptop with the absconding key — not looking forward to this either. Good luck folks.

This is a long overdue review.
My funds are limited, so I don’t so much buy a new computer every few years, but put a few hundred dollars every few years into component upgrades, and smaller replacements when things conk out. Quite some time ago, my USB controller on my motherboard died, so I had to install a USB expansion card. No big deal, but on Good Friday, 2014 THAT conked out.
Now I’ve been limping along on this motherboard for years — and it is not the most modern. I needed a USB card that used the legacy PCI bus. I drove all over Modesto that day looking for this, admittedly slightly outmoded expansion card.
Many promising places were closed, it being Good Friday. The places that were open that did not have the part would direct me to a promising store … which would then direct me elsewhere. I had only been living in Modesto a short time, and I learned much of the town geography that day!
Finally a guy at Radio Shack told me about Gadget Exchange.
When I walked in, I knew I had the right kind of place — it reminded me a bit of the hobbyist electronics stores of times past — only stocked with consumer goods instead of components to build your own stuff. When I described what I needed, a young man, that honestly reminded me of myself, 2 or 3 decades past, encouragingly said, «I think we may have that!»
He pulled out a small cardboard box with a jumble of expansion cards (to someone like me, such a sight is MOST EXCELLENT). But alas, no card of the type I needed was found.
I looked crestfallen, sighed and began to walk out. The young-​geek-​with-​much-​potential stopped me and said, «there is another place to look!» at which point he went to the front of the store, and to a pile of old computer cases, which he began taking the covers off, looking for a PCI bus USB card. and found one. He cannibalized the old machine, and held aloft the sought after card most triumphantly.
Then… well like I said, I am of limited means, and had very limited funds at my disposal. The initial asking for price was barely just over what I had (by only a few dollars). They brought the price down for me, and I walked out, card in hand. That same card, that the mouse I used to navigate this site RIGHT NOW is plugged into.
I promised a Unilocal Review, and a customer for life. After many months, I have made good on the first part of that promise. Sorry it took so long, guys.
