While at the register, the cashier Melissa is helping customer next to me… the customer donates $ 1 to receive a $ 10 discount on her purchase. When the lady leaves, Melissa begins to talk to my cashier Alma about her. Snobbily, she comments about how the customer ONLY donated a dollar just to receive and discount and«really, it’s not for us it’s for the kids». That was so tacky and unprofessional to even have that attitude, let alone talk freely in front of us. They have no respect for their customers. And seriously, clean your vents, it’s disgusting!

Customer service lacked at this store when I came today. Previous times they have been great but it looks like the people that were friendly and welcoming are no longer working there which is a bummer. I only came into the store because I had earned a $ 5 reward with their credit card. I actually came at a good time because it was 50% off their clearance and was able to get a t-shirt and some cute pants for my daughter that will be born in November for .51. I guess I will only be coming to this store if I have a reward in hand to use. Sad to say Old Navy in Turlock and the Gap in Modesto who are the same company has zero customer service skills and I don’t fill welcome in their stores. Maybe I’ll just stick to shopping online with this company.

I heard they had a 40% off entire store sale so I decided to come here since I was in the area. They did have a 40% off sale and I was able to find a sweater and long sleeve tshirt in my size for all under $ 20. I was happy with my purchase and the staff here seemed fine like any other gap store I have been too.

Staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Helped me to find the perfect fit for jeans. Asked if they could hold my stuff when they saw me struggling with my items.

Customer service has much improved. I was double-charged for an item and didn’t notice until several days later. I’m not gonna be a jerk and rant about the cashier, because I know that stuff happens. What was NICE about this experience was all it took was a quick call to the manager, and to come in to show my receipt, and it was all amended very quickly. No shifty-eyes, no lecture, no trying to blame the customer. They knew they messed up and took steps to redeem it. I hope they read these reviews and know they are on the right track, at last.

Every time I go to the Modesto Mall, I’ve noticed one thing. I always find the Gap store attractive so I feel the need to go inside. Once I get inside, I notice that they have nothing to offer. The clothes are expensive but it feels like cheap quality. Their sale(still pricey) aisle has all these excruciating ugly clothes nobody wants. I’m sure some people agree that some of their clothes are thin as paper. It doesn’t feel good on the body. It feels CHEAP. No thanks. I’m better off buying a pack of white shirts and nicer outfits somewhere cheaper.

I got some GAP jeans(1969 label) on Black Friday and within a few days they had torn on the inseam near the zipper. I was super disappointed because the jeans fit me perfectly and were a great price. A friend suggested that I could return them as «defective.» When I got there, it turned out that I had the wrong receipt, but they exchanged them anyway. The manager who did the exchange was polite, but kept pointing out different spots of «wear» on the pants. I felt like she was accusing me of trying to cheat the system by saying things like«We’re going to exchange them, but look at this spot right here.» Anyway, I was thrilled that they exchanged the defective merchandise even with the wrong receipt, but I left with an awkward feeling.

I just bought a high school reunion outfit at the Gap and was helped by Christina, the perfect store employee fashion consultant. She was a delight. I’m going back next week to buy some tees.

The Gap provides comfortable clothes that you can wear to work. That’s about it. They also have nice deals, but will confront you if you have a return. There are many other clothes stores to shop that give far better service.
