Jim Booth Swim School

My first experience with this school had me upset. My 3-​year-​old went under water twice in the first 10 minutes of the lesson. Another parent helped him from drowning because I was not sitting close enough. The instructor was not informed of his age or abilities and did not intake his skill level before leaving him alone. There were only 2 other students in the class, and the teacher was not close enough to help him. I let him finish the lesson in the hopes not to make him fear the water. He is fine. Unfortunately, I was the one not fine. The teacher and office were apologetic. They did not communicate the classes correctly. I chose not to return.

Our now 3-​year-​old started lessons with the school and Teacher Jena when he was about 14-​months-​old. From the early Mommy and Me style class to the more independent student style that he’s in now, the school’s teaching philosophy is low-​pressure, creative and anxiety free. Our little porpoise spends more time under water than above it these days. All the teachers we’ve met have been warm, genuinely responsive to the kids and skilled in their approach, but Teacher Jena is extraordinary in her ability to relate to toddler minds and inspiration.

We love the Jim Booth Swim School! My boys (ages 2 & 3) attended classes in Modesto with teacher Jena. Her high energy style helped keep the kids engaged and excited about going to class. I love the small class size and how she is able to teach each child to his/​her ability. We also did a session of «Mommy & Me» swimming and had so much fun singing songs and learning proper technique. We’ll definitely be back!

we’ve had our son in lessons for about a year now, he’s almost 4, and are amazed at his improvement. The teachers are great with his strong and playful personality, they have managed to make it fun for him while still encouraging learning. My favorite pare is the small class size of 4 students which really allows for lots of one on one time.

Our Daughter has been taking lessons for one year now. She was four and a half years old when she started. She has always liked the water and was very excited to learn how to swim with out a float or adult attached to her. The goal was for her to be able to swim at her grandparents pool by herself in the summer. (She began lessons in February) She more then made her goal. She was swimming, jumping off the diving board and going down the slide by herself in May. Joy was incredibly proud to showcase her swimming prowess at her Preschool Graduation party. The confidence she has learned from attaining this important skill, is awesome. She loves her teacher (Jena) and has enjoyed class from the very beginning. I believe that living in California we are so blessed to have the ocean and many water ways at our disposal for enjoyment. Knowing how to swim is a necessary tool, not to mention can be a life saving skill. I highly recommend the Jim Booth Swim School. Their teachers are qualified and their chosen technique is fun and simple to follow. We have recently expanded our family and I will certainly be enrolling our youngest when the time comes.

My family and I are very pleased with the instructors and lessons provided by Jim Booth Swim School. We enrolled our 5 year old son during the summer to help enhance his swim skills in order to decrease some of his fear of the water. We took a short break to try another class, but came back to Jim Booth because the quality of the lessons and the connection that the instructor had with our child was superior. I just felt that the instructor at Jim Booth engaged with our son more and that really made a difference. Our son has improved leaps and bounds with his ability to swim on his own and his belief in himself is also improving. He loves coming to swim class and is always happy to be there. He’s no longer one to sit on the steps of the pool afraid of the water. He is happy to get right in there!

So far so good I loved our first session the coach was great with a nervous mom. went for my 6 month old son Jerry’s first swim lesson and it was a breeze for him I was the nervous one the swim coach had to work with and I can’t wait to see what happens in the future update to come
