Mountain Mike’s Pizza

We scheduled a dinner party for my daughters birthday the staff and manager did their best to accommodate us and the entire entourage. Food flew off the table, service was great and the help coupons discounts the employees gave us made this more affordable and tasty. We loved the chicken club pizza my family found a new favorite. Thank you

Last night I ordered a large Everest, and a large garlic sauce with chicken and pepperoni. They had a great special, get 35% off all large pizzas. It use to be 40 but oh well. When I got home you can always tell how good MM is because everyone is quiet. The pizza was excellent and the wings were juicy but wasn’t slathered in sauce which I like. Overall a 4 att because of the great food and excellent customer service.

While I grew up scarfing down Shakey’s Pizza (R.I.P.) after a long week of ballet and gymnastics practices with my sister and our friends, Mountain Mike’s is another great choice for pizza in Modesto.
You can’t go wrong with your classic pepperoni and cheese!
The pepperoni Mountain Mike’s uses are dime sized, and they don’t skimp on giving you lots. They crisp up nicely in the oven.
My grandparents like to order it with extra sauce — Highly recommend giving it a try, made for a tasty change.
Friendly service each and every time either myself, Mom or Grandma drops in to pick up a pie.
On my last trip, I noticed there was a Unilocal check-​in offer for a free jalapeño breadstick.
Now, I’m thinking this was just supposed to be a single breadstick, but Mom and I ended up sitting around for an extra 15 minutes and were kind of confused as a result.
Are these people stoned out of their gourd or something?! It’s one breadstick not 90.
Whatever, it’s cool, let’s enjoy an ice cold pint of Sierra Nevada and raid the Grumpy Cat Sticker machine while we wait. :)
The kids working ended up hooking us up with a FRESH, small order of them! Not sure if that’s what they were supposed to do, but those breadsticks were phenomenal.
Just the right amount of cheese, and the jalapeños had more than a spicy kick.
Carryout, dine-​in, I’ll always hit up Mountain Mike’s when I’m visiting family.

I had a wonderful experience here and was completely surprised. The pizza was fresh and the service was friendly and funny. I really enjoyed eating my pizza inside the restaurant instead of taking it to-​go as I normally do with pizza. Very good experience and will definitely be back.
I recommend ordering the cheese bread or the jalapeño cheese bread. Yummy!

When it comes to yummy pizza, this is the place. Never disappointed in the quality of the food. We were craving a pizza with anchovies and they were out. The worker was apologetic which we appreciated, especially because the person who really wanted it traveled from out of state to get their fix. We ordered a half/​half combo and asked for fresh tomatoes on the vegetarian side. They forgot. I asked how much longer till our pizza was done. It was ready to go, but no one called my name. It was still hot when we finally got it, so that was fine. They seemed understaffed. The pizza makers were working hard. Employees were super nice and the food is always good. A couple of disappointments won’t deter us from coming back. But puh-​leez have anchovies when we do. :)

Pizza was not on time. No one was wearing hairnets and men had facial hair. When you are working with food its gross! The place was not the cleanest.

The buffet pizza goes fast, but as soon as they finish wiping down the counter, there’s fresh pizza. The salad bar is always fully stocked and well maintained… No salad dressing or topping spilled everywhere. It does get a little packed, but that’s always a good sign of good food. They always make sure to wipe down the tables as soon as somebody leaves so there’s always clean tables available.

My dad’s favorite pizza of all time since forever. Any Californian should know what Mountain Mike’s Pizza is. For me, Mountain Mike’s never quite lived up to the hype my dad perpetuated. Rather, it’s an okay pizza place that offers quality pizza on the higher price scale range. What makes it unique, though, are the pepperoni and sausage. The pepperoni used are small and crisp around the edges, forming a tittle bowl that holds delightful greasiness. The sausage are flavorful and taste like Italian seasonings. I haven’t had meat since I was a wee lass, but I can still remember what the pepperoni and sausage taste like on these pizzas.
VEGGIE PIZZA: Cut in the usual thin slices and loaded with green bell peppers, olives, tomatoes, mushrooms and artichoke. The crust is on the thin side, firm and crisp. ³⁄₅
SERVICE: You order at the counter and drinks are self-​serve. ³⁄₅
VIBE: Dimly lit pizza joint with TV’s for the adults and video games for the youngins’. Biergarten style seating that makes it a great place for large groups.
Worth a Return Visit?
In Modesto, Mountain Mike’s Pizza is definitely up there for best spots to get pizza. However, I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here. Out of love for my dad, I’ll eat here anytime he wants :)

Modesto has good taquerias and Chinese restaurants. Tonight I ordered a pizza to be deliver at my hotel, Price of a pizza pie, lge thin crust veggie pizza, veggies were good the crust was not thin under baked, cheese what cheese. Ready for the price $ 35.00. Today is Tuesday they offer 40% of on Tuesdays the employee said that this discount did not apply for deliveries, yet I read some reviews where customers say 40%off dine in or delivery, ???

I’ve been here a couple of times for lunch because I work around the area. This place is always filthy, the tables are always dirty while employees are just standing around clearly doing nothing. It’s just sad that the past three times I’ve had to clean my own table. Cmon get it together. Phone rings off the hook before some one gets to it.

Pizza here is delicious, that goes without saying. The customer service on the other hand, holy shit, beyond expectations and I expect a lot. Trent is honestly the most helpful, eager, polite, and enthusiastic person I have ever crossed at any kind of food spot and that includes fine dining, family restaurants, and hole in the wall places in modesto and beyond. As a business owner, I was floored by the service of Trent and his crew. Owner of this mountain mikes beware: good employees are hard to come by, and any business owner would kill to have such a high caliber of employee working at their establishment. I’ll only buy pizza from mountain mikes from this point on and only this location in particular. I can’t emphasize enough how how floored I am by my experience ordering a few pies to go. I am a picky customer and if any managers or owners want to see what ideal customer service is to better their own operation, order a pizza from here and ask for Trent, it’ll definitely make you reevaluate your views on your employees and favorite local eateries.

We had ordered a large pizza and beer and the pizza had taken quiet a while to come out but when it did I noticed we never got our beer we had to ask for the pitcher we gotten and the pizza wasn’t that great and the beer wasn’t really cold it was kind of warm

This Mountain Mike’s is the best one in the central valley. The pizzas are always very flavorful. They are more expensive than other pizza places because let’s face it, no one makes pizza as good as they do. Their buffet is a great deal and they have coupons on their website, not to mention 40% off large pizzas on Tuesdays. Their pepperoni pizza is the best I’ve had and their veggie pizzas are to die for. The garlic chicken is also the best I’ve ever had. The wait time is a little more than other places but it’s well worth the wait.

I am definitely a fan of this Mountain Mikes. The lunch buffet that they have is great.
I can never complain about a buffet of pizza. This store is a bit old, and could use some up dating. But, if you’re a sports fan, they have TVs all over the place. The staff is really friendly as well. I had a problem with a pizza, and I talked with Albert, the manager, and he fixed the order promptly. Overall, I dig this place, and the staff.

So nasty food is still frozen ! Im disappointed! Employees are rude and I ask for a water cup and got a cup with stains on it! Gross!

They always have the best pizza. My favorite is the McKinley. My Hubby likes pepperoni with pineapple. Hoping he will share his salad.

I agree, this place can be a bit overpriced if you don’t know what to order. But tonight I got a mini pizza (green pepper and olive) with the all you can eat salad bar and a draft bud light for $ 15. That’s not bad considering other options in the area.
Plus for every dollar here you can earn miles with your airline, if you’re a traveler and into that sort of thing.
Overall, I like the place and will keep coming back when I’m in town on work.

Visited this Mountain Mikes recently for carryout. Ordered on my way there and the pizza and wings were ready as soon as I went inside to pay! Great pizza and you can usually find specials.
