Can I just say that this store brings me joy! I am a thrift store junky and I love vintage clothes. Now vintage clothes for me is even more heart warming on dollar day! They have those often where all clothing is only $ 1! I have always found treasures there. Only downfall is they close their dressing room thurs-sat or sun. I get it that there is sketchy people in that area that probably like to steal but it sucks for the non sketchy people because if your into vintage clothes you know you HAVE to try it on because of sizing being differnt back then. Because of that I would say to probably shop during the week :)

Ok Salvation Army, your FAILING at being a thrift store. A few basic rules: 1)BETHRIFTY!(meaning cheap) your not. your REALLY not. Why are all your items so crazy expensive. In fact, I have found stickers on some items that show it was LESS expensive before you sold it at your THRIFT store. It’s in your name. Get it together. 2) what is up with your dressing room? Why is it only open on certain days and limited hours. Weird. Common. 3) No baby clothes. Really? There’s tons of babies, they need to be dressed. The only reason this place doesn’t get 1 star is because its clean and organized. The short of it: Its ONLY worth going when there is a 50% off everything sale. Then the prices are actually reasonable.

I used to love shopping here, they had great deals. But now they’ve gone full loco with their prices! Yesterday I found a used backpack with crusty stains and a big hole in the bottom priced at $ 17! Are they forgetting that this store in right next to the homeless mission and the Airport District? There is literally always 3 or 4 crackheads hanging out in the parking lot. Maybe they should take some of that into consideration before slapping a $ 17 price tag on a holey backpack! And there are more examples! I saw a used Walmart bike for $ 100! Are they nuts or wuts? This old man was looking at it and was telling the cashier he wanted it for his grandson, I felt like telling him that the exact same bike in new condition sells at Walmart for $ 109, because I have that exact same bike! The poor guy ended up buying that bike I think. I’d recommend shopping elsewhere until they get a little more realistic on their prices!

I agree with Anna about how this store sells trash. I picked up some nice Adidas sweatpants, Adidas shirt, and a black top. I also picked up some garage sale tags and some diaper pail refills for $ 5. When I took everything to the counter I noticed some stains all over the sweatpants and a hole in the black top. I showed the cashier then told her I wasn’t interested in them. They were having a 25% off sale the entire store. So I at least walked away with some good deals and bummed I had to leave some there. They have a facebook page that they post their sales on and I will just shop when they have sales. They also post pictures of items that come in too, which is nice.

Everything is so overpriced! This the most expensive Salvation Army I ever been to. Old shirts for 6 dollars, i could buy a new one for that price.

This is a very worthwhile Thrift store to go to. It’s surprising the furniture that they get in. I only go when the store has their 50 percent off entire store sale. Otherwise their prices leave something to be desired. This is a thrift store close to the mission so there’s always homeless people around.

Way over priced for used clothing. I got lucky and went on a Wednesday, it was 50% everything. I got 2 pairs of nice vintage style shoes for 6 bucks. But I wouldn’t shop there on a normal day.

I’m usually not a fan of the Salvation Army and this was no exception. Prices of furniture are outrageous, although I found a sad little mid-century modern desk for $ 40. The staff was really kind, but the gal working the register didn’t speak english. I wouldn’t mind usually, except that I had questions about things and my spanish isn’t all that great. We got through it with both of our abilities to speak Spanglish, it was a little more difficult than it should have been.

since the turlock location left about five years ago, nothing, i mean no thrift store in the area has compared to what you could find there. whether it was an old i. magnet woman’s suit, men’s dior sweaters and ties, or some modern piece of furniture for $ 12, it was the supreme place to go. now that the modesto location has come along, it is quite comparable to it’s former location in turlock and the past six months have shown an improvement in their stock, though their prices are a bit steep for the salvation army. a pressed board modern-style desk selling for $ 80 but now on sale for half-price? a bit absurd. however, i have found an unused ice cream maker for $ 10 where sur la table sells it brand new in-box for $ 60. i have found a vintage piece of le crueset cookware for $ 5(sans lid). you can even come across some wood kitchen utensils and bowls for a few bucks. though i am always on the hunt for mason jars, i have been bale to purchase at least five, in various sizes all $ 2 and under. the salvation army usually has a half-off sale and sometimes their over priced furniture pieces stay on sale(it seems they are always getting new furniture pieces weekly, so it is a thrift store with high turnover and definitely you could do a weekly, or bi-weekly parooze). i highly recommend checking out their clothing section… for men, i have found a custom made blazer, some vintage pendleton and gant to my amazement. at times, you’ll come across a great pair of shoes, maybe a great piece of artwork. CHECKITOUT.
