Save Mart

I’ve been shopping at this store for about 5 years because its right around the corner. The staff are always so friendly, one even greets me happily every time she sees me.

I like Savemart. I’ve shopped their stores for as long as I can remember. My favorites store is the one on the corner of Oakdale and Scenic. They have a truly beautiful store with a large selection of items, quality produce and meat, and honestly the most friendly staff. The store that I am reviewing doesn’t quite live up to my expectations.
I’ll just start by saying the layout is unlike any Savemart that I’ve shopped at before. Its not bad, it’s just confusing.
I was not pleased with my visit here today. I was in desperate need of an ATM machine since I had to pay a bill by 6PM across the street. Was told that I could get $ 300 dollars at any cash register. I went to the customer service area. Seemed the best place to be for just a cash transaction like that. The cashier then instructed me to wait in one of the lines for other people to buy their groceries. I had only ten minutes to get the cash and pay my bill. By the time I got to the register it was already 6. Tried to get the $ 300 but I was then told I had to buy something. I grabbed a candy bar and that failed also. The cashier told me it was an invalid transaction. Not declined. Invalid. So, instead of getting her manager and figuring out if I had to buy more to get it to get my cash, she basically looked at me like she couldn’t help me and said sorry.
Moral of this story: if you want to do business or get customer service in general, go somewhere else.

I shop here because it’s convenient and close to where I live. There is something annoying about the fact that they put things too high up for somebody thats 5 feet tall to reach. They put 2 liter sodas 6 feet high in the air, milk and dairy products, the bags for produce are too high for somebody to reach also I have to see if there are any bags on the areas near the individual sectioned produce. I do like the employees so that’s why I come here everybody is friendly. I just don’t like their set-​up. In general I like shopping here I just don’t buy things that are out of reach. So I guess they do help me save.

I like the store everybody is very helpful here and friendly really good service maybe a little bit high on the prices but their meats are great there

This grocery store is overpriced and doesn’t have the best selection of items. Unfortunately, I don’t have a car and Save Mart is conveniently located for me. I can say, however, that you won’t find a nicer group of employees anywhere. They have gone out of their way on several occasions to get me what I needed. For that reason, I think I would continue to shop here even if I have other options.

Save Mart is somewhat expensive, but I came to this one just for House Foods brand tofu. For some reason, I can’t get it in Manteca, although I haven’t tried all three Save Marts in the area yet. Anywhere else in the country, Walmart has it but not here, and it’s a circus in Walmart anyway.
This store wasn’t bad and it didn’t take long to find the tofu and they had a variety of types within the House Foods brand, which was extremely helpful. The only problem was that much of it was about to reach the expiration date. Maybe there just aren’t enough Asians in the vicinity?
The cashier seemed almost unhappy with my purchase and asked «Is that all?» in an unhappy tone of voice. I guess I’ll look closer to home and find some.

Meh, I’m rating this place slightly above average, I noticed some outdated items on the shelves and cordially notified one of the produce guys. He immediately took note and got the items off the shelf…
I continued shopping, and I felt as thought he kept watching me… I was buying loads of garlic for my pre Thanksgiving prep marinade… he then kept watching me and quickly suggested I buy larger quantities of garlic rather than little packages of them.
I then was asked every 2 min. from the workers there if I was ok, if I needed help… they must have thought I was a disguised quality inspector or something… Strange… I was overly catered to and overly seen throughout my shopping… It shouldn’t have to be this way…

I like save mart. I also like that everywhere I have lived, there is always one conveniently located around the corner. Staff has always been very friendly, never can say I’ve had a bad experience. And I also like that the stores are pretty uniform and consistent with each other.

Ahhh Save Mart. You stores are so saturated in this area and generally lack quality, freshness, and a diversity of meat. I am frequently disappointed with your deli. Can you please get a better selection of fresh cheeses and meats? Sometimes I can’t even find fresh mozzarella. And as for the meat counter… the fish never seems that fresh and is mostly thawed out and farm raised. The cuts of beef are marginal at best. Also, can we have more organic options?
I know your corporate headquarters are in Modesto, but that is no reason to subject gentle Modestians to your bland supermarket. Where is Whole Foods when I need you?
