Great service! Our server was very knowledgable and our food was delicious. I would just suggest maybe the hostess’ do more. The server had the whole dining room and the host at the time just stood up front and could of helped the server buss tables since he was busy. When the host left her shift a new host came on and immediately started bussing tables! The original host was a pretty blonde Asian girl but she just did not do much of anything but just stand at the host stand.

The flavor of the steak was disappointing. The place was pretty empty. For the price we paid for dinner I expected a mouth watering steak. I do work at Texas Roadhouse however I haven’t been here in so long I wanted to try it again. I’ll stick with our roadhouse steaks. They are half the price and melt in your mouth. Maybe I didn’t order the right thing.

Great service and surprisingly unbelievable cuts, the Joe’s steak was a real treat. These are slow roasted at 130 degrees for like 18 hours then seared to your liking before serving. I had my reservations with it being overdone and dry, but no chance. It was like a piece of prime rib but with much better flavor. For a sirloin it was the bomb. Apps and deserts all real good as well. For a chain I recommend any day!

My wife and I had lunch here today. Very nice! She had pasta which was very good. I had the chicken and ribs. The smoked skin on the chicken was outstanding! The mini rack of ribs was very meaty and tasty. Good service and reasonable price. They had a bar we will try out next time.

Bad service. Bad food. Bad times. The server was nice, but not so great at his job. We waited for almost twenty minutes to get our drinks. We had to ask multiple times for refills. My husband’s food was not what he ordered. My mother in law’s clam chowder had hard potatoes in it. My steak was overcooked. Everything had too much pepper. We were there for over an hour and a half because everything took so long.

THEWORST! The service was slow. The prices were expensive. Not one thing was good! The clam chowder potatoes were hard. It seemed like sand was in it. They made us wait to order drinks. Hen rushed the rest of the meal.

I ordered the Joe’s Steak, which was so dry and weirdly flavored that I genuinely thought they had brought me some kind of overcooked pork. So I asked the waitress if this was the Joe’s Steak and not in fact pork, which she said she hears that a lot. So it wasn’t a fluke, it’s supposed to taste like that. I would think a steak house would know how to prepare steak. Also I asked for mashed potatoes as my side but got a baked potato. The service so far was really bad so I didn’t bother asking her to fix it. When my son told her he wanted the crab cakes from the appetizer menu, she asked him what sides he wanted. He was confused by this but just picked 2 sides to move the order along. This was a huge mistake because of course this doubled the price because now it was an entrée. We ordered one of the specialty drinks and I swear it was devoid of alcohol. And they charged a pretty penny for it of course. The service was really slow, we sat at our table in the bar area for 10 minutes before we could flag down a waitress. And she had a grumpy demeanour the whole time. So food was gross, service was slow and grumpy. Suffice to say we will never, ever, be going back.

This place was eh. Went there last night for dinner and the place was pretty much empty except for one other couple. My black burger tasted like the stove it was cooked on. My gf said her steak tasted like it was old. The spinach and artichoke dip was loaded with garlic and my wild berry lemonade(an alcoholic drink) tasted just like my gf’s spirit free strawberry lemonade. We felt awful having to pay $ 60+ for our subpar meal. Service was decent though.

Lunch was great food was fresh. We got there when it opened up so it was pretty quiet. The fresh bread rolls with butter were yummy.

Love Tahoe Joe’s. Anytime we come to Modesto, we usually eat here because there isn’t one at home. Always have had good service and delicious food. Their green beans are to die for.

Food was not good. It was like it was prepared long time ago and just sitting on the plate. Baked potato tasted like baked In the morning and then was kept warm. Fries tasted old, fish very old, steak was ok. service was very friendly.

Took my husband here last night for his birthday. Needless to say we won’t be returning. The steaks were dry and NOT worth the $. The service was so so. We were sat right next to the kitchen and had to listen to all the cooks and kitchen staffs FOUL mouths and my kids had to listen to it. Our experience was terrible. My husband had always wanted to go there and he was so disappointed and on his birthday no less. Shame on Tahoe Joes.

Just a few things you may or may not know. You can bring in Your Own Wine Bottle here with no charge at all. Happy hour is awesome but it also goes from 9pm to close at 10pm. Some great items for just $ 2.99 or $ 3.99. The rack of ribs are the best in town. The meat falls off the rib. Don’t just buy 1 rack for $ 19.99, best deal is 2 racks for $ 26.99, you are getting the 2nd one for just $ 7 more. The loaded fries are Awesome.

Doesn’t even deserve a star. I’ve been to tahoe joe twice. The one in vacaville and this one. I had such a bad experience in vacaville. Bad service. took forever and the food was stale. Decided to give it another try. When i went to modesto i saw a bunch of tables open and they made us wait for nearly damn 30 minutes. Once seated, it took another 30 minutes to take our order and then the food took almost an hour! NEVERCOMINGBACKHERE. Just go to apple bee’s. Cheaper plus the food is good.

Happy hour. It’s a good deal, and the food is delicious. They ditched hefeweizen for 805(not a good business decision) to appear more hip and youthful. Occasionally, and it’s perhaps 20% of the time, the rolls(and those on the happy hour sliders) are somewhat hard/old. Again, this is relatively rare. Accuracy of orders is high. Initial reception is generally quick and painless. Wait time for food is average. Food quality is above average, but not«wow, we’re coming here next week good» Joe’s Steak sandwich is excellent. Pecan crusted calamari is good too. Steaks/Prime rib(flavor, tenderness, outside spice) I’d rate it maybe an 8. Parking and accessibility is average. Show up early for dinner.

So far Tahoe Joe’s is still my favorite steakhouse in Modesto, beats Texas Roadhouse by far. I come here all the time for Happy Hour, the HH menu is pretty awesome. A beer and an awesome burger for less than $ 10 bucks, I’m all over that! My favorite dishes here are: 1. Joe’s Ribeye 2. Tahoe T-Bone 3. Pan Seared Calamari Try these 3 before you try anything else, you’ll be glad you did.
