Nice clean store. Found everything I need prices are a little bit more but the convenience is nice great that they have later hours for rural town.

I have no choice but to shop here if I want a full grocery store without driving an hour to Walmart. The manager Tony is amazing! He’s there to help you with absolutely anything you need, if they don’t have the item you want, call and talk to Tony and he’ll order it for you. The meat/fish in their display case at the self service case isn’t appealing at all. You can tell the meat just sits there without being bought. I find that fresher meat comes from the full service meat counter and that’s providing that you ordered it in. Most of the staff are friendly but, when you see some employee’s walking through the store, they don’t acknowledge you. They absolutely need new training on their attitude. The store is overpriced, because there are no competitors in Mojave, they charge whatever they want and it’s ridiculous. I would give this store a 5 star rating if they would accept lower prices from other stores, it’s good for them because it’s still selling.

This store is consistently right on target. Fresh produce. Top cuts of meat. A fully staffed market. So friendly. They ask you how you are doing and do you need any help. The produce lady is fantastic. One of the best. The bread isle has a huge selection. We stop here every month on our way to Kernville. Highly recommend.

fresh foods meats canned foods fluids frozen A complete grocery shopping experience that is a lot better than I would expect. The place is clean and everyone is so nice. Vegetables are fresh, fruit is fresh, and a huge abundance of canned and boxed food. But to me what makes a grocery story is that it has a butcher. oh yes. a butcher. complete with knives and scales to abide to your meat eating needs. I would choose this grocery over any in the whole area.

Been shopping at the Mojave Stater Brothers for something like 30 years. Back in the 80’s we’d load up the trucks with bikes and dogs, a hibachi and sleep in the bed of the trucks at dove springs — the stopping at Stater Brothers ritual for a camping trip began. Then I decided we could drive back from Dove Springs and spend the night in a flea bag motel, a bed, a shower and a waitress to bring us food– hot damn. Munchies and beer and a sandwich at the Stater Brothers service deli and we were set. Then we started getting RVs so stocking up at Stater Brothers was always the start of a great trip. I even spent a night or 2 in the RV in the Stater Brothers parking lot waiting for friends to show up– especially when I lived in Seattle for 5 years. Then my life exploded and of all places I moved to Cal City. Lots of pluses and minuses here. Cal City Market or Rite Aid sometimes have that 1 thing or so, but Stater Brothers is the closest real market. Yes, Stater Brothers is not Gelsons, but it’s a good supermarket. You do have to be careful with meats being too close to sell by dates— but I’ve had the guy bring me newer paks from the back that have longer life left– and even gotten refunds for an occasional bad item. And watch the produce. All in all, for basic groceries, even some stuff like shaving cream or cleaning supplies I’m glad Stater Brothers is just 12 miles away– sure, every other week or so when I’m heading below I’ll plan on stopping at Trader Joe’s in Palmdale an Costco but again I like Stater Brothers. As for the employees– most of em are pretty friendly — maybe if you’re walking around with your cellphone glued to your face looking down at people beneath you you might get what some reviewers complain of, I’ve found most helpful and friendly.

Most of the time Deb and I will either drive to Tehachapi or Rosamond for our grocery shopping. However sometimes we just need something quick and don’t want to drive to the others. So the only other option is Stater Bros in Mojave. We live in Cal City but there is no way we will shop at the market in town and the new Dollar General isn’t much better. Stater Bros has a good meat department and the produce is ok. Nothing special but ok. Over all for a quick trip this isn’t bad and we will continue to come here for a quick shopping trip.

Not ghetto, just a supermarket with plenty of selection, even vegetarian options. Lines can get kind of long but checkers are efficient enough. Good spot to stock up on food because the restaurants in mojave can really lack on variety.

For the residents of Mojave, Wonder Acres, Cal City and the surroundings areas this is the«the market». If you want to drive to Lancaster, Edwards or Tehachapi you have options. I love the meat department. Always seem to be good deals when I stop by. As mentioned by another« Unilocaler», the produce… I don’t think is borderline old as much as I believe it is just over priced(Vallarta in Lancaster is the SHIT for meat & veggies!) I think the Cal City market has old produce and under refrigerated meat, but I digress. I always seem to get in line behind the man/lady with two shopping carts of food and only one or two check stands open! These people must shop for a month!!! But there is a cute young sandy blond checker who is the bomb… she«beat my meat» while bagging early yesterday(Friday) morning, and if she reads this she might remember and get a laugh !!! Always happy and cheerful. Thanks. +‘s and -‘s for this store, but I like the staff. The shoppers are interesting to surveil as well! No better time to «Yelp» then while flying and bored… Unless your practicing assault drills in a C-17 cargo hold!!! HooYah!!! Already can’t wait to get home to some good Mexican food in Ventura County… or East L.A. or Mexico City or Mexicali… Hmmmmmmmmmmmm Oh Mexico City… a steak place(who’d thunk it)…anyway, another story for another day.

This is the crappiest Stater’s that I have ever been to! The workers have a lot of attitude here, especially the checkers. This store also seems to be managed poorly compared to their other stores. I know you can’t expect much out in the middle of no where, but seriously?! I won’t shop here again. Some things I have noted include: *Incompetent Staff *Expired Products *Lack of Selection *High Prices *Long Lines *Lack of Security

Shocked. It is a true large, full service grocery. The meat and veg/fruit sections are large and diverse. Great customer service. Full wine, liquor and beer selection.

Good place for Mojave. we were at the desert inn and did not have soap, and this place did the job. However, it is a tad expensive.

I Think this place is AMAZING for Mojave. An actual FULL grocery store! It IS the only option if you live in cal city and you don’t wanna drive 45 minutes to get groceries, so for that i think we should be thankful. There ARE bums outside the place sometimes asking for change. But that’s only sometimes. I’ve never had a bad experience with the produce there like ‘Death-Valley J’ said. In fact, my friend and i came HERE once cause she said the fruit was better than at the Air Force Base grocery store. So yeah! Anyways, i doubt anyone would even have to Unilocal this place. Either you HAVE to come here, or you don’t. It’s not a matter of opinion lol. But yeah, I like the place. Compared to ANY grocery store, it’s as good if not better. I’ll give it 5 stars!

This State Brothers is the PITS! Sadly it’s your only option if you live in Cal. City and don’t want to drive an hour to get groceries. One of the things you really have to watch for here is the produce. Most of the time it is rotten or close to rotten. Produce that has dates, pay attention to the dates! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve picked something up and noticed it expired the day prior. If you’re going into Lancaster or Ridgecrest your best waiting to get your groceries there.
