Asked for rigatoni with sausage and meat sauce. Got over cooked noodles with a puddle of water at the bottom with bland red sauce. Threw more than half out. Won’t be back.

My Husband and I enjoy coming here for our date nights, the atmosphere is relaxing and the food is excellent. My favorite is the chicken Limon and My Husbands is the Cioppino.

Average Italian fare. Average Bloody Mary. Nothing too exciting. Great service, but long wait times. My nephew got the chicken parm which he said was a bit tough and watery. My toasted ravioli a were decent but nothing to write home about. It was pasta Wednesday, so every person who bought an entrée got a piece of lasagna to take home. We had 4 large servings to take home which was generous but after eating a ton the last thing I wanted was to take a bunch more home. My sister, who got the lasagna as her meal noticed the whole bottom layer was burnt. With all the choices around its hard to say I would give it another shot… One word, meh.

We went there on a Saturday without reservations and were told about a half-hour wait. An hour later, after two other groups were seated, we were still told a half-hour. We were at the bar and not waited on. UNACCEPTABLE! Never going back. Owner looked confused that we complained, while drunk people were leaving.

I am beyond shocked that Tonys response was so negative. I have been a patron for 3 years and have always been greeted and served with a friendly and enthusiastic approach. Joan, is one of the kindness person… And enjoys her job. This is the first time that I have ever commented on Unilocal, but I just had to rebuttal!.. It is so far from the truth. We have made so many friends and have had amazing experiences at Scrementi’s. …

If you get a waitress by the name Joan. Leave or ask for someone else as server. Dealing with rude ignorant person lost appetite. Lenora took over our table and she was a gem. But the damage was done and kind of ruined 46th wedding anniversary for the parents.

Went there last night to try it out. The atmosphere was very nice. Warm, not too loud, and the staff friendly. I wish I had as many good things to say about the food. It was definitely not fresh. We got the stuffed peppers… sausage was very solid, over seasoned and almost too spicy to enjoy… and we like spicy! The sauce did not seem homemade for ANY of the dishes. He got the cheese ravioli and meat ball. Again, seemed like it came from frozen and the meat ball was like a bad lump of poorly made meat loaf. I got the walleye. The fish was not bad and the green were good but it was nothing to rave about. Just fish and greens. What made matters worse… we came home and did not feel well. He is still having issues! I believe it was more the bad sausage than anything. We won’t be back.

Many visits here. While all the food is terrific, you might not think of them for s burger… They have the best burger around. This is coming from someone who eat a hamburger every day. You won’t believe how good it is. The chicken Romano is awesome and they have the best meatballs by far. You don’t find giblets at many Italian restaurants anymore but Sam serves up a wonderful dish. The service is excellent and you will be treated like a king. Check them out and leave room to share the lemon cake.

Me and my family went here for dinner, I have a allergy to butter and gluten, I informed the server of this when I ordered the cod dinner and got it plain with lemon, it came out with breading and butter so she sent it back. we got our appetizers b4 my kids drinks, server was rude when we politely asked for their drinks and didn’t apologize for the fish being made wrong, took 20 min longer and family are without me, 18 $ for that and no accommodations were made when bill came no apologies when we told her we were unhappy with the fish and service just a ride,“oh”.would never give a dime to this place. food overpriced rude service and incompetent kitchen staff.1 star for sure and that’s being generous.

Sunday night, called to see when they stop serving dinner. Was told, «9:30». Got there at 9:04 and the three old hens sitting in a booth said, «kitchen’s closed.» I said that I just called and you said, «9:30.» They looked at me like I was loco. We walked out. They looked like us and one of the hens said, «it’s Sunday night!» Now I know why business is suffering. Please hire someone borne after the Hoover administration to greet your guests. Webpage says 1:00 am for closing on Sunday.

I have been here a bunch of times since my last review. It is still as pretty good and consistent as it has been.

Husband had the lake perch dinner 6÷17÷2015. 1 hour later vomiting and diarrhea. Called them today to notify about the fish. Since the manager thinks she knows about food poisoning and thinks it is 24 hours later. Note i only called to advise them and never asked for refund. This is for you… Collapse Section Symptoms has been expanded. The harmful substances that cause Ciguatera, Scombroid, and shellfish poisoning are heat stable, so no amount of cooking will protect you from becoming poisoned if you eat fish that is contaminated. Symptoms depend on the specific type of poisoning. Ciguatera poisoning symptoms can occur anywhere from 2 to 12 hours after eating the fish. They include: Abdominal crampsDiarrhea(severe and watery) NauseaVomiting Shortly after these symptoms develop, you will start to have strange sensations, which may include: A feeling that your teeth are loose and about to fall outConfusing hot and cold temperatures(for instance, you will feel that an ice cube is burning you, while a match is freezing your skin) Headache(probably the most common) Low heart rate and low blood pressure(in very severe cases) Scombroid poisoning symptoms usually occur immediately after eating the fish. They may include: Breathing problems(in severe cases) Extremely red skin on face and bodyHives and itchingNauseaVomiting

This place was terrific the food and wine was incredible. My boyfriend and I both ordered pastas. The waitress was extremely helpful and kind. The portions were perfect size. I only gave this four stars because the waitress actually told us we could come in anytime and actually buy the bottles of wine they offer. Silly me I should have known. However, when I went in the older women with the extreme amount of jewelry was very rude about it when I asked. She pursued the ask the owner sitting at the bar drinking o believe. He seemed confused but kind of rude about it to. Wish I could have at least gotten an apology for their mistake. Instead I got denied out the door like I was underage. Was actually kind of embarrassing.

While we like the atmosphere. The food is above average but always consistent. So try something different if you do not like your previous choices. Tomato sauce changes by locale in Italy. This is northern Italian sauce. Perhaps you like southern darker sauce better. Perch is always fresh and tasty. Parmesan dishes great, Veg soup is terrific. Bread is fresh baked and to our liking. Sometimes waitress forget olive and bring tomatoes and butter with the bread. Disappointment to us that to many customers seem to be in jeans… why? Sam the owner, tries hard to make it a first rate restaurant. How about taking that look to a restaurant without white table cloths. The Waite staff has been around forever and knows the menu well. Overall super for a suburban restaurant.

Not a fan. Came here tired and hungry. The waitress seemed like she was in a hurry? Get off, Bitch! I got a martini and it came out purple and tasted like candy. Not my idea of a good drink. Especially when it was served in an over sized glass and came only ¾ full. Then I ordered a Tito’s and lemonade, tall. I got the Chuy size and that tasted like crap as well. I just looked at the bill and I was charged for Grey Goose. Nice! One more star off for ripping me off. The beef tenderloin was the special and I figured I’d make it easy for them. It was pot roast on my plate. The chopped beef in one pile and peppers and vegetables on the other side, all in a thick gravy. This is what I get for 22 bucks. Shit dude! I do not know why I came here when Roccovino’s has never let me down. We weren’t even finished with dessert and she brought the bill. I gave her my card right away and she came back faster than anything I have ever seen. I signed it and I didn’t notice, but she was behind me and grabbed it again. WTH! Did this broad have a date! Not coming back here!

Been a year or so since I was last here. Arrived later on Friday and not too crowded, We were greeted and asked if we would like a booth in the bar to watch the hawks game. worked for us. Our server introduced herself and took our drink orders. we were ready to order and I went for the Lobster and Ravioli, this was a good choice. Very tasty. Good size ravioli with a lobster tail perched on top. Good flavor and filled my belly. I chased it down with the Tiramisu and this was equally as good. Good meal and a happy belly.

Atmosphere is nice, but the food is well let’s just say yuck. We have been to many Italian restaurants and they have a long way to go. Maybe change to a burger and sandwich place.

Unilocal, hello, why does this place have only 3 stars, with a bunch of one-stars? This place is terrific! I didn’t even know it was there, but now that I do you can bet I’m going to add it to my list of favorites when I’m down on the south side. The food is great, service is awesome, and the prices are reasonable. So I went on a date here with a woman who’s kids play for the Lincoln-Way East football team. She told me these guys cater to the school for the football dinners, and the food is great. I had never heard of this place, but I figured if they support the local schools I’m willing to throw some business their way. When I arrived, I was early, so I took a seat at the bar. They have a really nice bar with lots of TV’s. The bar is well stocked and they also have a respectable wine list. The bartenders(there were 2) were really nice, went over the popular options, and were definitely all about the hospitality. I ordered a glass of wine, and when my date showed up she put in a request for some crazy martini concoction. The bartender totally took her request and made a specialty martini for her– a salted caramel rumchata martini. I was impressed the bartender had such a knowledge of mixology, she really made the drink look nice, and D said it tasted awesome. After 45 minutes at the bar, we finally sat down. I can’t remember our waitresses name, but she was awesome. She knew the menu and made recommendations, as well as reciting the specials from memory. We made some decisions, and the food came out quickly, but not too fast where we felt rushed. I had the chicken marsala(something I always choose as it’s a good barometer dish), and D had the chicken vesuvio. Both are made with boneless chicken breast tenderloins, and were much tastier than the average boneless, skinless chicken breast. We also had fried calamari for an appetizer– it was cooked perfectly– just the right amount of breading and not greasy. Overall a terrific place! I was quite happy with the quality of everything we ate. The service is awesome, the bartenders nice, and the food terrific. Cheer up, Unilocal,it’s not that bad… give these guys a try– you’ll be glad you did.

I’m really shocked at all the 1 star reviews. I have been stopping in here almost once a week lately. I’ve never had a bad experience. The service is always friendly. I’m always happy with my food. I do tend to stick with the same few items though. My favorites are the chicken Romano, ravioli and linguine with clam sauce. The desserts could use a little work. I like the custard cake but the tiramisu is just average. The bar area is a nice alternative to the other options in the area. They serve sandwiches at the bar and the full menu of course. They also have specials almost every single night of the week. Tuesday is 2 for 1 drinks(with food purchase) and Wednesday you get an order of past to take home. They have at least 4 specials during the week. It’s worth checking out.
