Definitely an outdated venue. Never been here but since it is shutting down at the end of the week I decided to take the family there for my mother’s birthday since she says it’s her favorite place. $ 8.00 for a Sutter Home moscato that was opened from the mini bottle and poured upside down in to the wine glass like a high school kid seems a little high. We were walked to our table(actually the finest table in the dump since it was right on the corner with two window views of the airport runway) to be seated at a dirty table, not bussed from the previous diner. Food is of the Red Lobster/Olive Garden area in pricing. Apps were between $ 8-$ 15 and entrees were $ 14 and up. I had the Chicken Oscar at $ 19.50. Chicken was super juicy and lump crab meat was large pieces of good quality! Meal came with AYCE salad bar, which is just a regular salad bar with one lettuce mix and dressings, some toppings, and maybe six other cold salad varieties set in hotel-pan style buffet under a long incandescent light fixture. 4 people came to $ 85 with just one soda and two coffees for beverages. Entrée price could be accurate if the background and service style would match the price but it definitely does not… but again, the entrees were good!

This is one of those old town places. The atmosphere is dated and I would say almost Retro. The restaurant has been around since I was a kid and I am 50 Steak, Prime Rib and Fried Chicken are the best. They have items like frogs legs which my mom always gets. The salad bar is right out of the 1980’s with all the fixings, crackers, beets, pea salad. and chocolate pudding! The wait staff is friendly and have never had a problem with service. I would say this is the place to go when you don’t want to cook at home and want to have a relaxed meal after a long day. Family Friendly, If you are taking your girl friend on a date or want something fancy I would look some place else… this is your laid back good cooking restaurant. It almost reminds me of one of the dinner lodges you see in up state Wisconsin.

Well… the gal at the hotel said this was the best place in the area so figured what the heck. I walked in and no one welcomed me. I went to bar and squeezed into a table. The bar tender was pretty responsive. The menu has a range of fried or broiled fish, frog legs, fried cheese, escagota, and prime rib. Kind of a back to the 80’s high end establishment. I had the prime rib with has browned potatoes and the salad bar. The salad bar was on wheels and the highlight was the out of a bag bacon crumbles. It looked like it was all out of can or bag from Gordon Foods. The prime rib was so-so. Nothing special. The hash brown potatoes were like butter mush. Its definately a local joint and the people were very nice. But… for 35 bucks I would have rather gone to Arbys and got a six pack. People dining seemed to enjoy it. I guess if you are a local and don’t get much other variety it is a good local place. But if you are traveling in and am used to fine dining Id just set lower expectations. The fish /seafood isn’t fresh. Probably bought frozen from Wal-Mart or a food service. Beer is only out of bottle and no craft beer selection. Id give it more stars but the food quality wasn’t that good and the service was mediocre. Also the ambiance was out of an 80’s movie. Wood paneling old tile and all. I’d give it less starts but the people seemed nice and for the area I guess this is the best. Would I come again??? Well it depends on what else is around.

We read reviews that Bud’s was a dining experience with the average entrée costing $ 25. We went in and waited 15 minutes for a server and no one came. So I went to the kitchen door and asked for someone to wait on us. All the servers were in the back of the kitchen gossiping. We finally got a waitress and we ordered the catfish and orange ruffy. The catfish came out with a bag of potato chips on my plate! The orange ruffy was so overcooked it was like eating cardboard. We sent the fries back because they were cold and they came back hard as rocks. The salad bar was not chilled to the right temperature and did not look sanitary. The waitress felt bad because we sent back all our food and took our drinks off our bill. The manager gave us dirty looks and stared us down when the waitress told her we sent all our food back and told the waitress to inform us that we still had to pay the bill. We didn’t eat any of it and we still had to pay the bill!!! Would not recommend wasting your money here.

Overall, this place was pretty good. Their menu has a rather big selection and I think that all of the 15 or 16 people that we were with were happy. The waitress was very very nice and accommodating as we had several young children at the table. My only complaint would be that my uncle ordered a steak medium. It came out rare. He sent it back, and it still came back rare. After the third attempt, they got it right. I ordered the salmon, nothing too special about it, but still very good. The place was packed and the patrons seems generally very happy.

I went here with my parents and will preface this review in saying that Skyline inn has an awesome salad bar, and the view is as advertised with a great theme going on. My ribeye was a bit fatty though cooked well and seasoned well, the sirloin was without fat and great and the prime rib is also well cooked and seasoned. I hope to return some time and try the fish.
