Mehhh… This place wasn’t my choice from reading the other reviews. The inside is okay, really old and def need some upgrades. The booths were old and the whole place just felt dirty. Can someone please pass the salt??? Omg, no taste. Everything was tasteless. Wait, hold on, can someone please pass the salt?(Yes, again) I had to do something to make this taste better! The guacamole was very good and it definitely saved the dish! The Flautas really weren’t that bad. The bad part was the beans and rice. How can a Mexican restaurant mess up the beans and rice! That’s my favorite part of the dish.(sad face) A lot of TVs for sports so I can see why people come here and drink. I guess if your watching sports and drunk enough, the rice and beans won’t be too bad! A lot of space for large groups. The salsa dispenser grosses me out. You’ll have to go to see what I mean. :(

the spicy carnitas tacos are hands down the best carnitas I have ever had. My wife loves them also, except she get about half the spice.

Dined at La Flama this past weekend and thought the food was exceptionally good! We had spicy shrimp tacos and pork tacos. Both were very spicy and very delicious. The shrimp was not over cooked which often happens. Chips and salsa and guacamole were great. The beans were delicious and well seasoned. I had a frozen strawberry margarita that was the best I’ve ever had! Fresh strawberries were used in the drink making it particularly good. I will definitely return when I visit Moline again.

We eat here pretty frequently. We love the fish tacos — fried but not greasy. Love the guacamole and tortillas. My husband loves the chorizo tacos and Chile rellanos. My friend loves the spicy carnitas tacos. The place is always packed but the service is quick and friendly.

I REALLY wanted to like this place but I’ve got to be fair to those who dine here after me. It won’t stop your Mexican food craving. To be fair, I’m not a local. I’m more accustomed to the Mexican food served in Texas and Colorado. This is the second place I’ve visited in Moline and both have been very bland without a hint of the spices that make Mexican food Mexican: cumin, cilantro, etc. Tonight I had the beef chimichanga, one of the specials. It was not crispy and the beef filling had what looked and tasted like diced potato. The small guacamole side was just so so. And the chips were bad… not fresh.. on the other hand, the salsa had some bite to it and would have been excellent had the chips been better. The margarita prices were cheap, but they use an overly sweet mix that has an artificial taste and overpowers everything else. The server went through the motions but there was no engagement. Can’t recommend.

Been going here since it opened, great atmosphere, great service and even better food. The pork meat is to die for!

Stopped in for a late dinner midweek and the place was pretty quiet. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and we even had a pleasant conversation with the owner. Had a really nice meal and drinks that made the night out a success. I’d recommend stopping in.

It is in such a great location. I walk there for lunch so often. They bring chips & salsa to every table. That is the main reason for my visits. All of the food is delirious.

When I got there there was no one around. It looked like a ghost town. It took a few minutes for the waiter to get my menu. Rice was nasty and hard. I wouldn’t come back here. Overpriced. Save your time and money!

We tried this place again. The food was okay, not really authentic. My order was wrong and I got it corrected after my table of eight had already eaten. My waitress was argumentative and just plain didn’t care about her job. The owners are nice. I wish they had been my server.

The positives: really good salsa. I like that it was just left on the table like ketchup; I had the spicy grilled chicken tacos and they were good– I ate two and gave the third to my husband– although they weren’t super spicy and we’re sweet, we still enjoyed them; my husband got enchiladas and took half home; our waiter was nice and quick. The negatives: this place is expensive for what it is– the food was good but not the best Mexican food I’ve had; the hostess didn’t provide us with our flatware or napkins– we had to ask when our food came; who pays $ 14 for a margarita? Not me. The lunch specials we priced great and I would maybe come back for lunch, but not likely again for dinner and never for drinks.

In contrast to reletively recent reviews, I found the experience at La Flama to be quite good. Perhaps today was either a good day or exception to prove the rule, though the service was excellent and friendly, the food and especially the meats were flavorful and fresh and the salsa was excellent. The ambiance and majority of patrons give a business trendy feel though the food is quite solid and the restrooms are different, but quite functional.

Been comin here for years! Delicious. Best mole enchiladas In the area BYFAR. Delicious margaritas. Great service always! I am eating the fish tacos now and they are really good. Super fresh fish, great fried crunch, nice creamy avocado slices. Good salsa too! Not sure why this place has some bad Unilocal reviews! It’s awesome!

Not great. All of our food was cold. Sent back the fajitas came back hot, but the worst my wife has ever had. Go to Azteca or Las Agaves!

I will not go back. Not only did the hostess slap down our menus and disappear before we could sit down, but we sat forever to get our drinks. Our chips for our appetizer were stale… so we didn’t even bother ordering an entrée. We drank our drinks as fast as we could so we could go somewhere else. The waiter did work hard and seemed overworked but that is a management issue, so we still left a good tip.

The LaFlama should be extinguished. For starters, the chips were way too thick for my liking. The salsa is what saved them and got them the two stars — the salsa was actually very good. I ordered the hard shell tacos and couldn’t have been any less impressed. There was not one single hint of seasoning in that ground beef. Some suspicious liquid oozed from my hard taco shell… normally i would have assumed grease. but it was clear… taco tinkle perhaps? Grease you would at least expect would have given the meal some flavor… but there seriously was just none. By the end of my meal my plate resembled a small lake full of the taco tinkle and the abundance of salsa I had to add to the meal in an attempt to give it some flavor. Needless to say… I will not be back. Cheers.

The service was extremely fast. My friend and I were in and out in 25 minutes, and that included the time it took us to eat. The food was just ok, not bad but nothing special. I had two tacos and an enchilada. The taco meat was dripping water/grease(I’m not sure which) whenever I picked it up to take a bite.

Real good food and the mixed drinks are poured strong! Decent beer selections. Décor is upscale and is quite nice and trendy. A step above other Mexican joints in the area. Nice and clean as well

Went back for some more… wasn’t particularly delicious, to be quite honest. The enchiladas are made without any sauce. Ok, I guess, but kind of bland. Refried beans looked like paste. Mexican rice had absolutely no flavor. Salsa was bland this time. A touch of spice, and no other flavor at all. Chips were very dense. Also ordered the pozole soup… that part was good. The rest, not so much… I don’t think that if the other stuff had been the first meal I’d ever tried at the place, I’d ever have returned again. So yeah… my first visit was way better. I was disappointed this time around.

I really want to give this 3.5 stars. I struggled with this one. I got the spicy shrimp quesadilla. It was delicious. The sauce was spicy, but sweet, it was extra cheesy and just yum. It was great despite the overcooked shrimp. That’s why I struggled with the rating. I know Mexican food doesn’t typically feature seafood, but if it’s going to be on the menu the cook should know how to get it right. But the taste was still good and I ate every bite and wanted more. The margaritas were ho hum I must say. Very light on the alcohol, but they offer a ton of flavors.
