I booked a room at this hotel more than a week in advance. At this time, I called the hotel directly and requested a room on the first floor, as my husband and I travel with our small dogs and our baby. We stayed at this hotel one other time on the 1st floor without any issue. No complaints, other than the rooms are a bit small. However, this time we did have an issue. When I booked the room, not only did I request a room on the 1st floor, but I also booked for 2 adults and a CHILD. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told that we had a room on the 2nd floor and there were none available on the first. No biggie. However, after the first night there, I woke up with a raspy throat. I had smelled cigarette smoke, but I assumed someone had lit up in their room quickly against the rules. However, the smoking continued, and it continued to fill our room. I called the front desk to figure out what was going on, and they informed me that there were smoking and non-smoking rooms. I didn’t realize this, as during my first visit, I experienced no indoor smoking whatsoever. By the next night, I couldn’t wait to leave. My nose was running, my eyes burning, and my throat so hoarse I could barely talk. The cigarette smoke was pouring into our room and filling the halls to the elevator. Our hair, clothes, everything smelled like smoke. I went down to the front desk to get ANOTHER hot tea for my burning throat and ask again what the smoking situation was. I was informed that even though I requested the first floor, and even though I had pre-booked with a CHILD, I was placed on the 2nd floor… the only ALLSMOKINGFLOORINTHEWHOLEHOTEL! Why in the world my family and infant were placed on an all-smoking floor, despite having requested a floor where there is no smoking is beyond me. Why I wasn’t notified that the 2nd floor is all smoking while carrying my baby to the check-in desk, if not during the booking phase, is completely outrageous to me. This was extremely upsetting to me as non-smoker traveling with an infant child. I did bring my concerns to one of the staff members at the front desk in the hopes that they would notify their guests during booking, check-in, or at least post signage somewhere at the entrance to the 2nd floor that it is in fact, a smoking floor. Aside from all of this, the hotel itself is great. The staff is super-friendly and accommodating. The pool and other facilities are kept very clean and the breakfast is convenient. I also love that my pets stay free and there are relief areas for them located conveniently around the hotel. I would certainly stay here again in the future, but I would be very clear about not putting us anywhere near smoking whatsoever.

Of the things that could ruin a hotel stay, you might say bats, mice, skeletal remains under the bed… Well the latter is what we found. Yes, there was a large bone under the bed of our room. They also failed to clean and service both our rooms between our 2 night stay there. When I called and told them about it, they said I was welcome to come down to the front desk for clean towels… really, you can’t deliver them since you failed to clean the rooms? The pool was also closed during our stay, so the kids couldn’t swim. Don’t want to know what caused the closure of the pool… Really? They have signs everywhere pledging clean rooms. They have a guarantee for«Friendly Service, clean rooms, comfortable surroundings, every time. If you’re not satisfied, we don’t expect you to pay. That’s our commitment & your guarantee. That’s 100% Hampton.» The«we don’t expect you to pay» part, well they charged us… If skeletal remains under the bed doesn’t qualify for this pledge, then what does? They said that the bone must have been for a dog that stayed in the room. Really? No wonder my daughter had a severe allergy attack the next day. I wondered what caused it, pollen was low and it rained, so the air quality outside was good. If they can’t clean well enough to find a 6 inch bone, then I guess they didn’t get all the pet dander either. Hoping they will live up to their pledge, because if this doesn’t qualify, really, what would qualify for it? They didn’t clean the rooms between the 2 nights we stayed. There was a bone from some previous resident. And enough pet dander from animals staying in the room to cause an allergy attack for my 11 year old daughter(her eyes were so red, and nose was running and so congested). And I had to get new clean towels myself. No pool, WiFi connected and logged in, but couldn’t access anything.

We came in on a Thusday, and stayed two nights. Service was prompt and courteous, and the room had both an refrigerator and a microwave. We had hoped for two queen beds, but they only had the one king. Still, the room was very nice, clean and well appointed. The pool and free hot breakfast made a real deal for us, a family of three. My daughter slept on an inflatable bed that we brought along. Pool was shallow, but they had plenty of towels, and a very nice, small exercise room. They even were kind enough to allow us a late check out, since I had some car troubles. Bottom line: One of the better hotels in the Monaca area. I would stay there again, anytime.

Clean sheets and duvet covers for every guest. Does it get any better than that? Why, yes it does. The employees are friendly and always speak and say hello. When you come to a small town from a very touristy town, such as Las Vegas, it is nice when the locals say«Hi» and«Good Morning» for no other reason that just because. Upon check in the rooms were immaculate and very welcoming to walk into. Extra features that they had, that we did not utilize were pool, exercise room and laundry rooms. What I did enjoy was their continental breakfast. We were there for a couple of days and it was nice to see that they changed it up from day to day. They offered coffee and hot chocolate 24 hours a day, very nice touch I might add. Complimentary wi-fi was also provided. And they were cheaper than the Holiday Inn across the road. Winner, winner, I want a chicken dinner! If I need to travel to PA again, I would definitely stay here without a doubt.

I normally enjoy staying at Hampton Inns because of the amenities such as a free hot breakfast and free internet. This one is located right by a mall. There were two negatives: one was that they didn’t have a better gym. The gym area consisted of one bike, one treadmill, and one elliptical. The other negative was that when I called to book a room the woman told me there weren’t any, but I was able to book one online immediately after hanging up via the Hampton website so obviously there were.
