Super 8 Motel

This is a comfortable place to stay when I was visiting people in a nearby town. It is a basic motel and basic accommodations. What makes this motel stand out, and above so many, was the way in which I was treated. Peter, one of the managers, helped me with installing the Über app on my phone and did so in a friendly and helpful manner. He explained specific things about my phone and Über that I was unaware of. Another helpful employee was Dev. He assisted me in finding transportation in the Monee/​Crete area… as the taxicabs are outrageously expensive! All of the employees were friendly, helpful, and extremely courteous!
A friendly staff does make the stay much more enjoyable… and this staff consistently went above and beyond to make my stay pleasant. Should I return to that area I will gladly stay at this motel, Super 8!

I had no trouble with the internet and the room was clean. The bed was fairly comfortable. It was annoying, however, to make the reservation by calling the Super 8 reservation center (web site was down) and have to fill out a cheesy little form when I check in. They had all the info. They won’t even print out a receipt for me. Why do I have to go through this? Because the place is run by foreigners, that’s why. They are notoriously cheap. They even re-​use the little envelopes that hold the key cards, with several room numbers written on the outside and then scratched out. Cheesy. I won’t be back here.

To put it simply, there is a reason why they have a 1 star rating from other reviews, and things have not improved. They kept turning off the power to my room that the milk in my fridge went bad when I left for a night. Yes. they technically have wifi, and it works about 30% of the time. I have a 110 $ in data charges to prove it from hot spotting my phone to send my daily work reports.
They have no respect for anyone as a customer or their employees. Avoid this place at all costs, up interstate 57 there is a bunch of hotels off hwy 30. Worth the 5 min drive.

Terrible experience… wi-​fi wouldn’t work and got lame excuses… dirty rooms… only one waste basket… refrig was inop… just a very poorly run establishment… and to top it off some turban head that couldn’t understand English at checkout… Stay away from this place
