My family and I went to this small restaurant as a pre-Mother’s Day treat for my mother. This establishment, considered a true«hole-in-the-wall» by central New Jersey standards, offers most of your standard Mediterranean favorites, including doners, kebabs, falafel, etc. You will find that most of the dishes here have more of a homey feel and taste compared its larger competitors within a fifteen mile radius of the restaurant. A previous reviewer commented that the halal carts in New York City were preferable in terms of taste. Indeed, flavors are a bit muted and noticeably less reliant on sauces here. However, in my opinion, that is a good thing; the result is that you are able to appreciate the freshness of the proteins that grace Kapadokya’s entrees. My father was especially impressed with his adana kebab, which is essentially seasoned«assembled» ground lamb. He found the lamb to be on the softer side; this texture was unexpected as other places serving similar dishes tend to overcook their lamb, resulting in undesired firmness and blandness. Service was with a smile, straightforward, and extremely efficient in spite of the fact that there was only one person in charge of orders and serving diners. Perhaps this establishment’s two shortcomings are price and portion size. If value is of primary concern, you will find more of it at Kapadokya’s counterparts, who generally give you much larger portions for just a few dollars more per dish. However, my personal opinion is that the excess is not worth it in this case, and you should not be detracted from the culinary experience offered by this establishment based on these two shortcomings alone. As one with a relatively voracious appetite, I actually cherished the fact that we were all able to finish our dishes and feel full but not completely overstuffed. My mother, in particular, appreciated the half portion size of chicken kebab that she ordered. On another note, to those that adhere to Halal dietary standards, be advised that the restaurant’s website and menu do not advertise Halal certification. It may be best to call this establishment for more information should it be a concern to you or your fellow diners. Yes, it may be true that you are able to obtain more flavorful and inexpensive Mediterranean-style dishes every two blocks or so in Manhattan. However, one must remember that we are talking about Monmouth Junction, which is nearly fifty miles away from the big city. With a limited(but growing) number of unique food options in the immediate area, Kapadokya is a breath of fresh air. If you live in the area, please do not hesitate to give this place a try.

Good Turkish food. Stick with the kebabs, doner, or adana. The falafel isn’t that good and it’s in that rolled wrap style which we don’t like. Slightly pricey for the quantity but good quality meats. Don’t get the small but rather large entrée or you will still be hungry. Also the baklava is really good.

Awesome delicious and flavorful food, tastes very well :-) the lamb Adana tasted very good, so far the best lamb, lentil soup was made to perfection, chicken and lamb was grilled as chef quality, Hummus and Ezme were as per the original recipe and served as great starters. Good Value for the money spent, portion size(small, large) is justified by the price on the menu and complimented to the fullest by the mouth watering and delicious food. Very empathic and welcoming staff. I strongly recommend this place and would love to come again and try all the items on the menu Will come again soon. Thanks a lot Capadokia Grill for such a delicious and savory dinner.

I’m giving this place 4 stars for now until I try different things from the menu. We ordered the H-Gyro-Doner Wrap and a Burger Delux. The H-Gyro-Doner Wrap was pretty good. It could have had a little more flavor. The burger was just ok. It was cooked well well done, it had no flavor(maybe meat had no fat) and is not worth almost $ 9.

Awesome doner kebab sandwiches. Portions perfect for one person. You don’t go out feeling uncomfortably full.

Overrated and overpriced. The only reason it’s getting two stars is because the woman that helped me at the restaurant was a sweetheart. She was so welcoming, kind and answered any questions I had about the menu! Unfortunately, the food was extremely bland and tasteless. Maybe it’s just me, but when this restaurant opened up I was really excited to try it out because I was hoping this would taste more like NYC street halal food. Needless to say, it did not. The hummus was flavorless, as was the falafel. The sauces on the side were watery, bland and did not make up for the lack of flavor.

Okay call me a little prejudice but it was Burrito Royale for most of my childhood, teens and part of my adulthood. A very small restaurant wouldn’t even know it was there if you were speeding down rt. 1 in south brunswick. I was stuck in my old neighborhood for awhile so I needed lunch. The first place I went was booked for an event. So I went to my Unilocal friends n went to check this place out. I love Mediterranean food so off I went. 8 tables and 2 overly eager waitresses. I did notice alot of take out. Thankfully I wasn’t the only customer. I ordered red lentil soup which came with a pieces of warmed pitas. It was really hot, flavors were there it was okay not the best I’ve had but decent. Menu is small, prices were all over the place. Didn’t have a lunch menu just one whole menu. I was trying for economical, so I ordered chicken kebab in a pita, it came with white sauce n hot sauce which was delicious. It only came with a sandwich no fries or salad or side. Apparently that’s extra, which wasn’t worth it. The chicken was moist n juicy. Also seasoned very well but a little too salty for me. All in all I would visit if I’m in the area but wouldn’t go out of my way.

Love this little hole in the wall! First off the staff is super nice and welcoming. The food is delish!!! My husband and I usually get the chicken gyro-you can never go wrong with those. Topped with the white and red sauce drizzling down the gyro, yum yum. For an app we get the falafel and hummus very tasty. It’s a must, really a must. We also get for a sweet treat the walnut baklava it’s not super sweet which I love, sometimes baklava can be too sweet. But there is a nice balance between sweet and flaky. I gave it 4 stars only thing is we usually spend about $ 30 – 35 dollars there and I think the portions could be a little bit bigger. That amount of money at another restaurant can get you a lot more food. But either way I’m a fan :)

This place is tucked away on the side of south bound route 1. It is a small joint with a few tables, but the food is quite delicious! I have tried many things here, and nothing has disappointed me yet. The service is friendly. The lighting is bright. Parking is a gravel lot.

The food is great. I came here with my family and we ordered kebab, falafel, tabouli and even baklava for dessert. I recommend the«Chicken Kebab Yogurt,» a plateful of seasoned chicken atop pita bites and yogurt sauce. The restaurant is small and doesn’t appear to be anything fancy, but the staff is friendly and accommodating and the food truly is delicious. We’ve been in town a few days and my brother keeps asking to come back here for dinner again. Enjoy! (And do order dessert!)

The place is hidden on the side of route one, passed by it multiple times before, finally decided to try it out. The place is quaint, nice seating area, its hard to find places like these now, very chill. Food are not too expensive, nicely priced. Food, we ordered the falafel, lamb and beef gyro, and lamb with paprika thing, and a turkish coffee. The food here are nice portion, not too big like regular american size, yet not so small that you need multiple orders. The pita bread is a must, love it. The meat are nicely done in general. Also the falafel’s sauce is very unique. Don’t be put off by the area, this place is truly genuine. Will definitely stop by for a quick bite another time.

A hidden gem thst seriously offers the best quality food at a great price. There’s competition in the area but honestly the food here is the best Mediterranean food I’ve had. Don’t be off put by the location, its a great gem and you’re greeted with great service. I hope this place succeeds

Awesome. So hard to find any Turkish food outside of big cities like New York or Philly. Let alone find a good one! Had the gyro dinner with rice and everything was wonderful. Place is not that big but i will be back with the family soon. Flavors of the food is great. Cant wait to try everything on the menu!

These guys make their Gyro and chicken shawarma from scratch and it is good. The is a little pricey for what you are getting but the food is very good. It’s not the nicest dining room so don’t plan on impressing your date it’s probably best for lunch or take out. I’ll go back and try the Falafel. The beef lamb Gyro on Pita was the perfect size. The taziki was great but he red hot sauce wasn’t that hot it did give me the scary garlic smell for the rest of the day. A little embarrassing but it was still very tasty.
