I recently had an oyster poboy and their mac n cheese. The oysters were small, but very flavorful. There were 18 oysters on my sandwich. No complaints there. I had forgotten that their mac n cheese isn’t my favorite. I went at lunch time. There was a new employee working the register and taking orders. She did very well even though she had someone looking over her shoulder. Service was fast and friendly.

I’ve had Catfish Charlie’s twice, we dined in once and ordered TO GO yesterday. The place isn’t fancy but it is clean. You order at the counter and seat yourself. Both times I got the catfish angel, because it was that good! We also got cheesy grit poppers and fried jalapeños for appetizers, which were about $ 6 each. I didn’t care for the cheesy grit poppers and thought the portion was VERY small for the price and that they were WAY too salty! The fried jalapenos were really good and plenty. The food is pricey but they do offer a military discount, which was nice and helpful. When we ordered TO GO yesterday, they were very quick! We called in and our order was ready in less than 10 min. I would definitely recommend checking their nightly specials– the catfish angel was $ 10 (Thursday special) versus $ 13 regularly. Portions did seem a little smaller when ordering TO GO though but my belly was still happy! Overall, I’m impressed.

I want to tell you we have ate alot of seafood across the United States on our travels and i am so happy that we gound this place. We didnt know exactly what to expect but from the pictures on here it looked very good and promising. We went in and i ordered all you can eat oysters and my husband ordered all you can eat shrimp. Let me telllll you they know how to make and serve some seafood. He started with the fried shrimp which was delicious but then he switched to the boiled shrimp to try and omggggg. There Jumbo shrimp is JUMBO!!! They was so fresh, huge, meaty, hot, and beyond any shrimp we have ever ate. Very worth the money!!! My fried oysters was awesome too, but i did try his boiled shrimp and Wowww!!! you have got to try this place… We will be back it is only 6 and half hours from missouri

The 2 catfish fillet basket was just the right amount of food to fill you up! Make sure you ask for them to make it thin and crispy, which costs more, but we’ll worth it for the distinct taste you get on the catfish.

Was very disappointed after reading the reviews. We stopped on our way through to Dallas. The place was filthy. The food was very bland. We had fried pickles, catfish and boiled shrimp. The shrimp was delicious. Was not worth the price.

If they dip it in grease, it’s A BEAST. From the Shrimp, Oysters, gator bites to THE CATFISH ON THE DAMN NAME. You will hurt yourself trying to decide so let me help you and he get the tacklebox. Skip the slaw, they only reason they didn’t get 5 stars and the price. Not the cheapest place to eat but one of the best in Monroe.

Excellent meal at a fair price. The best catfish I’ve had in a long, long while. Fried pickle appetizer will easily accommodate four diners of any age. Not far from I-20, this will be a good place for my wife and I to stop as we travel between Texas and Tennessee.

Catfish Charlie’s is definitely my go-to place for catfish from now on when I’m visiting the Twin Cities. I had the AYCE basket of catfish (thin cut) and «pop corn» shrimp. Delicious, well flavored. Biggest popcorn shrimp I’ve ever had. Just all around good food and a good experience.

Delicious Delta food! This is your normal neighborhood catfish house, nothing fancy. Reminds me of the ones I enjoyed as a kid in rural Alabama & east Texas. This was a great spot for the Mr and I to enjoy a fish fry on a week night while he was working a rig outside of Monroe. We have had fried pickles probably every way they make um. These we the best. True southern/cajun treat!

Tried the special thin and crispy cat fish. It was good. Fried oysters was ok but fried shrimp tasted better. Over all first time experience was ok. Highly recommend the Ooey Gooey butter cake. It is addictive and take good. Try it.

Good thing I’ve had delicious fish tacos before, or I’d never get them again after having this here. Someone in charge at this restaurant should do them a favor and remove it from the menu. Fish tacos don’t require cheese… or a fried shell. Yikes. Hope this review will save someone from an $ 8 mistake.

Not impressed. The woman at the counter was not helpful or friendly at all. We had the catfish basket. The fish was fresh but the coating was very bland. The hush puppies were bland and doughy. The macaroni and cheese was about the level of Kraft. High prices for what we got. We had much better food and service at Outlaw ’ s catfish house.

Ate here on a Monday at 4:30 or so. Staff was friendly and helpful, even though we had substitutions in our order. Asking for spicy food by asking for it «snappy» was fun. I had mine snappy and liked the level of spice (flavorful but not hot). The food itself (popcorn shrimp and fish fillets) were excellent and indeed tasted fresh. The sweet tea was perfect – not too sweet, but just right (they deserve a medal for this alone).
Bathrooms were clean with some humerus décor. Casual ambience with country music (not too loud) and clean tables. I also appreciate that you can see into the kitchen.
All in all, I have nothing to complain about. It’s not fancy by any means, but if you’re hungry for seafood this is the place.

If you’re a catfish lover like me, LOOK NO FURTHER!
Catfish Charlie’s has a large, varied menu easy to navigate and a fun atmosphere to be in!
They cut their catfish so thin and fry them in the Thin N’ Crispy Basket, which is what I always order. Picture catfish cut thin enough that it’s easily eaten right out of your hand. It’s absolutely delicious!
Like a fast-food joint, you walk up and order your food. Like a higher-end restaurant, you’re handed a square buzzer so you never have to worry about craning your neck to hear your name being yelled.
The soda fountain and tea dispensers allow you to select your own beverage and you’ll never be without condiments. An entire bar of ketchup, cocktail and tartar sauce lies in the middle front of the whole place!
It also won’t break the bank either. You guys have to eat here!

Lent Season? Have no fear, Catfish Charlie’s is here!
As a former ULM student, during lent season I always find myself at Catfish Charlie’s every friday. There fish is so delicious, and they cook it fresh to order! I always get mines «snappy» (spicier than normal). They are a bit pricey, but they are worth it.
