Daq’s Wings & Grill

Food is pretty good but the service is terrible. I’ve been 3 or 4 ones now and waited at least 30 mns to get my food after ordering every time. The bad service and long wait is definitely not worth it.

Atmosphere is cool and the food isn’t bad, but it’s $ 11 for a plain chicken sandwich!!! I expect to get either the greatest chicken sandwich made on the planet, or get an entire chicken. Maybe it’s like Kobé chicken where the chickens are fed beer and given massages? Simply put, I need more chicken for $ 11 dollars.

The sandwich was pretty delicious and was not $ 11 by itself. It was in fact the French fries that I did not order that were charged to me. Guess I need to check the bag before I leave the drive through like it’s McDonalds or BK Lounge

Place was very cool the night I went. Very chill. And the BLT had enough bacon to feed a small army. Definitely loved it and will be back.

I know their specialty is wings but i checked out the menu prior to actually eating here and their the variety of apps alone was what made me want to try this place. I came for lunch and ordered the spicy green beans and the Big Harvey poboy. Spicy green beans were not very spicy but still good. I’ve had better though. But I would definitely come back just for the poboy. The bread was fresh and the poboy dipped in the gravy was delicious. I ordered a half and it came with fries. I thought the prices were a bit pricey— $ 18 for lunch, but the portion was filling. I would have liked to try more appetizers, wish they offered a sampler. My friend ordered the cheese boudin balls and i was actually very surprised to find them on the menu and also a little weary of trying them– but they were decent. I only say this because i’m from Lafayette and Billy’s has the best pepperjack boudin balls. But the one at Daq’s has good flavor and a good amount of spice. I just didn’t care for their fried batter– similar to the batter on the spicy green beans. I just thought the price ($ 7.99) was a bit steep for 3 balls… but my friend had never had a boudin ball so it worth the try!

Thank you 8 pound 6 ounce baby Jesus for shining your light to lead me to Daq’s Wings. Finally some decent wings! I absolutely love the lemon pepper hot wings. The roast beef po’boy is wonderful, although I do recommend you substitute the horseradish mayo for the regular mayo.
I’m not sure what they put into the gravy, but if it wouldn’t be frowned upon, I’d be tempted to drink it. It absolutely makes the sandwich.
The drinks are pretty pricy, so that is the only negative item to note.

Most of the time I’ve been satisfied here, but I must caution my fellow Unilocalers. I ordered a Tom Collins with well gin, and when the check came it had been rung up as a Bombay Sapphire cocktail ($ 8). I brought it to our server’s attention, and she reported that she was unable to get the bill corrected because she can’t «discount» alcohol, and that they don’t have any well gin, so they had to make it with Bombay Sapphire. How messed up is that? Let me count the ways.
1. Correcting an inaccurate bill isn’t a discount.
2. Any halfway decent bar should have a well brand of gin in stock.
3. If they can’t fill my order (a well cocktail), they should tell me, rather than bringing me something I didn’t order and then charging me extra for their mistake.
However, the adult grilled cheese with gouda, havarti, and jalapeño jack is fantastic, and I rarely have had any problems here. Just be careful you don’t get ripped off.

Used to love this place when it first opened, needless to say the service and its preparedness has been constantly on the decline. Ordered a couple spicy chicken sandwiches to go other day and a side of sweet potato fries, after paying $ 22 some change, the sandwiches were barely cooked on the inside, disappointed again! Will not be returning for a quite a while!
