On the Independence(74) highway, this driving range is the definition of basic. Certainly appears to have been a repurposed farm or something to that extent, with really poor grass, an astroturf putting green, rusting farm equipment targets beyond the hittable range, and not much else. A bucket of about 90 balls will cost you about $ 9, which is a decent deal considering alternative ranges, but the balls have been beat to hell, so hit two shots exactly the same and the two balls will fly completely differently. The real problem is it’s location smack-dab on the highway. Because of the elevation and openess, the winds are like Katrina-force the entire time. I’ll crush a driver, on average, 280+, but with 40mph blowing in my face, my driver barely reaches the 200 marker. Then the wind will shift and blow hard right, making every shot look like a banana slice and completely throwing off any evaluation you’re trying to do during practice. This place is great for beginners and teenager dates looking to just have a decent time hitting a few rocks, but it’s not adequate for those of us looking for an actual training session.

I’ve been to this range 4 or 5 times over the last 2 years last year the hitting area seemed to be in a lot better shape. I was there this weekend the ground was pretty hard and little grass to hit off of. Pricing is more than fair 13 bucks for a huge bucket. Staff is always friendly. The balls seem to be getting wore out. You could tell the dimples are getting worn down and some of the ball flight is a little goofy.
