This place is just fantastic. Great service paired with even better food. The place has a good vibe Interior is modern and trendy. One of the few Japanese restaurants in the Hudson valley that my wife and I frequently visit.

I’ve been coming to Yune for years and have always appreciated the atmosphere, the service and, most of all, the food. It seems paradoxical the the most sophisticated Asian fusion restaurant in Orange County is in a small strip shopping area on Route 17M, but that’s where it is. Their hand rolls and sushi are unexpectedly sophisticated for Orange County. It’s as good as it gets around here.

After going through Unilocal determined to check this place out. The dumplings and kimchi soup was good. The sushi was you’re average run of the mill nothing special. There was no difference between their dynamite and spicy salmon rolls. The service was a bit slow for the amount of people around. You had2 people going around and 4 just sort of hanging out. Everything seemed to take about twice as long as it should have. People that came in after us got their food first. There looks to be sake on display but no drink menu available. Though not a terrible experience probably not going back any time soon.

One of my favorite Japanese restaurants, service is a bit slow but the food makes up for it…

Perfect sushi right in the valley! You really can’t compare Yunes with any other sushi — the rolls are very original, perfect symmetry and ratios of raw fish and spice/rice and all the rest of the love they put into their rolls. There salads and Korean food is also amazing. Who needs NYC Korean town with yunes in the Hudson valley. Thank you staff and Mr Yune for constant quality.

The sushi and all entrees are always fresh and delicious And the prices are reasonable. The staff is very attentive without being intrusive. We are regulars and have not yet been disappointed whether we eat in or take out

Been here often. consistently good food and courteous, attentive service. Very willing to accommodate special requests — no fuss. Try the dinosaurs eggs … outstanding. Had dinner here on Saturday night friends … lots of sake and beer + a wide variety of hot & cold food — all good although did have one questionable tuna roll which should not have been plated/served but things do happen on occasion so we mentioned it to waitress and moved on. This is our go-to sushi place in a 15 mile area … no need to travel to Rockland or Northern NJ.

I’ve tried a few sushi restaurants in the area and so far this one is the best I’ve had, and I would definitely go back. They had a great selection and the food seemed fresh. They seem to have a little bit of something for everyone. I had the Phoenix roll and sashimi. Both were great!

No matter what, I always have a great meal when dining at Yune’s. The sushi is fresh and the menu has such a variety. My go to is Sushi A sub California roll with spicy salmon. Comes with soup or salad. The owner is a nice man who wants the best quality for his customers. If you’re looking for quality in the lower Orange Cty region, this is a great place!

Our favorite restaurant. Food is always outstanding and served with professionalism. The specials are wonderful creations and only add to the experience. Always call for a reservation as they are becoming so well known that they are always busy. What a great addition to the area. The Plum House should pay them a visit to see how it’s done.

I went to Yune’s a couple of days ago for some lunch. I’m new to the area, so I wanted to get acquainted with a sushi place I could trust. If you’re in a similar position as myself, or looking for a new sushi place, definitely go to Yune’s. The prices are great for what they offer, the food is excellent, and I was nicely full. Definitely can’t wait to go back; whether for myself or with friends. I will say, it took a little while to get my food, but there were quite a few customers there already. Plus, you can’t rush quality! Again, absolutely fantastic and I’d recommend it to anyone.

This is a small restaurant on a road side shopping area, and I almost missed it. But no regret, this is a nice place with decent food and very casual atmosphere. I enjoy their interior design and cleanses. Although this is more of a Japanese restaurant but they also have some decent Korean menu. I tried their soon dubu and I like it. I enjoyed their spicy tuna roll too. Service is courteous and attentive. Definitely a good place to eat if you’re in the Woodbury outlet area!

Place is an absolute mess. Call, placed on hold for 4mins. Hang up, call back, line was busy. For 2 full minutes. Cause, you know, it’s 1992 and multiple lines are expensive for a business. Finally get through, placed on hold again for 3mins — all while not actually being on hold. Nothing like listening to drawers opening and closing, and servers chattering to themselves for close to 10mins. Finally place my order of 4 rolls(I know, crazy), told it would take 50mins. It’s Tuesday. At 7:45pm. And we’re in freaking Monroe, NY, not midtown Manhattan. Its now going on 65mins, and I still don’t have my food. It actually would have taken me less time to walk to the Stop & Shop, buy fish, walk back to my house, cook rice, COOL the rice, and assemble the sushi myself. Which is what I’ll do next time. Horrible service, uninspired rolls. Can’t wait for them to rebrand AGAIN(first Haru, then Yune, next TBD) to give the old restaurant business another go. Third time’s the charm, right?

A group of friends and I were heading to Fat Tony’s pizza next door(well reviewed on Unilocal) but once my wife saw sushi we ended up at Yunes. Great relaxing environment Lunch specials are big portions for the price Everyone in our group was happy with their food. I can’t eat sushi because of allergies but their beef teriyaki is one of the best I have ever had. Fried rice was awesome. Customer service is great. I base a lot of my dining decisions on Unilocal and I am making it a point to leave positive reviews where I find great food at reasonable prices

We are regulars here. The food is always fresh and well presented. The owner is very friendly and the staff is accommodating. I’m surprised some reviews find the staff lacking. It’s the best Japanese restaurant in southern Orange County.

The sushi was really good. The hot saki was really good. The desert was really good. The old man waiter needs a lesson in communication and courtesy skills. Dude was all annoyed that I asked him if I could sit anywhere then he was rude and acted like me ordering and asking for the check was inconveniencing him. aside from that guy the place is great.

Went there because I saw all good reviews and was very disappointed. Very expensive, staff far from friendly and not good quality. Salmon not so fresh as I expected, sushi very thick on rice and the fish was very thin. Not a good experience for the price they charged. Had much better sushi in different places. Unfortunately there’s not a lot of Japanese places around this areas and this is probably the reason that people go there and find it great. Not impressed by anything I had there and probably won’t be back.

The best japanese restaurant in the Tuxedo /Monroe area in our minds. Sushis are excellent, fresh and well crafted. The selection is impressive and some of the specialty sushis are really unique. The korean dishes are really good too. The pork with spicy kimchi sauce is worth trying though I don’t care much for the thick rice noodles. Bring the sweet potatoe noodles back !

The sushi roll selection here is plentiful and the price range reasonable. The service is rather courteous. One star taken off for the wait for food. I’ve eaten here twice in one week, once on a busy Saturday evening around 6:30pm and once again during lunch when it was empty. Waiting times for the rolls(ordered on their own without soup or salad) were about the same, 20 – 25 minutes. Saturday night it’s understandable, but if we’re the only people in the place, less so. To go orders seem to receive priority over diners. The food quality is still worth it, though.
