This is one of the GGNRA sections that is essentially overrun with dogs. If you hike here make sure to take something to protect yourself against the off leash dogs. I usually load my pockets with rocks and carry a big stick. I would carry pepper spray if you have it. I get accosted every time I hike here. The problem has only gotten worse since the national park service took over. Rangers don’t enforce the laws at this park. Parents this is not a safe park for young children.
