I’ve been on an very official mission to taste test all the pizza in Montclair over the past year, and I have to say this place is my favorite. Maybe tied with another place, but the atmosphere pushes it over the edge for the #1 spot. I could prooobably eat here every weekend but I restrain myself. There are three pizzas I am mainly obsessed with — the Buffalo mozzarella(sans cherry tomatoes, please — the cheese is the star here), the arugula/prosciutto, and the pesto with sausage(smoky, savory, cheesy goodness). I also really enjoy the calamari with hot peppers, sausage and balsamic as an appetizer. It’s technically on the specials menu, but it’s there every time we go, so I hope it stays. The salads are also good and I personally find it awesome that they have a salad named after me, AND my sister(the Samantha and Sabrina). Cool coincidence! The atmosphere is really nice, I like sitting near the open pizza oven. We were the last ones there recently and the staff was all very gracious and patient. Bring a bottle of wine and eat all the pizza you can. Including the Nutella dessert one.

Walking in I was digging the place — not only does it look cool(on the outside and inside) but it’s lively and it’s loud and things are moving fast — cafeteria-style. The pizza arrived at our table lickety-split. Unfortunately they looked ugly(I’m sure you got a pie delivered that was completely messy cause it was too hot when it was thrown in the box and the teen behind the wheel is going way too fast? Same concept here — too hot a pizza too loosey-goosey and coming too fast). The pizza is small and very thin. The cheese had a nice tang and the tomatoes popped. We tried two different ones and they were delicious but after so much hype and seeing all sorts of seals and mention of their food being authentic and whatnot… for me it didn’t justify the price. It’s BYO(although the food comes out so fast you might not have time to uncork that wine). They have a parking lot(although it fills fast and it gets a little tricky trying to leave when it’s full and other cars don’t seem to understand they need to give you a little elbow room to be able to exit your spot so they can take it). Service is on-point(the waitstaff are constantly hustling and sometimes lingering a bit too close ready to pounce on that empty dish or glass).

The food was wonderful. The hostess«Nadine» was a tad over zealous accommodating arriving patrons. When our table for four(when we were a party of two) was abruptly moved while informing us of the need for that table, we were little taken back by her actions. Will we return? Everyone deserves a second chance.

The pizza was really yummy! The starters I could do without. Would definitely return for the Montclair and Fig jam/goat cheese pizza. Yum! Service was pleasant and prompt.

Great experience. Walked in with a party of six on a Friday night and sat right down. Great service, great pizza, great dessert.

We sat down and waited for service, which didn’t come, until we walked out, because a big giant brown bug was on the wall and continued across our table. We got up and left. You know restaurants should have to show their health inspection grade proudly, as they do in the city.

We were there for our nieces 2nd bday party April 17th. Food was fantastic, staff was very courteous and the atmosphere was awesome. We’re from PA and plan on dining here in July before a NJ Jackyls game. Highly recommended!!!

Ah Pizz’ is one of my favorite places for a quick bite! You can always count of quality food and phenomenal service. We always have multiple apps and some pizza, of course can’t forget about dessert pie! This time we tried the tomato soup with pancetta– of course did not disappoint. But most of all, my all time favorite is the owner he is so so sweet and will continue to check on every table throughout the night and also genuinely communicates with every guest. It makes you feel at home, without having to do the dishes.

We have been here many times and the food and staff are always on the money! Mike, the owner, is warm and friendly and makes you feel at home. The pizza is delicious as was the home made pppadelle with shrimp. Well worth the trip and the wait.

Came for dinner with a group of friends. We were a group of 10 and had made reservations. I had also asked about separate checks when I made reservations. Not everyone in our group wanted to split the bill. The guy I spoke to said it would not be an issue and to let our server know. When they called to confirm my appt. I asked again and was told it wouldn’t be an issue. I used to waitress and realize it is a pain… But again, not everyone we dined with wanted to split check. We arrived on time for our reservation and had to wait 20 min. It was. Saturday night and there was a show in town, so the place was jammed. Service was fine. Our waiter was visibly annoyed when we asked for separate checks. We told him that we asked and were told it wouldn’t be an issue. We got passed that. The food was excellent. All 10 of us were more than happy with our meal. The meatball sliders were delicious and in hindsight wish i ordered them for my meal. Pizzas and pastas were all delicious.

Let me start by saying the food itself is about four stars for a higher end pizzeria. However the service was sub par. I ordered a pizza and hot half meatball and half chicken. They charged me for two full toppings. I don’t understand that logic. I asked my server and his response was, «that’s just what our system does» like that makes it ok. It’s only a few bucks but it’s the principle that bothered me. In my opinion, Too much competition around to run a business that way. I also had the balsamic calamari which was ok.

On a Sunday evening the wait for 4 was about 20 minutes. Not bad. I heard their food was pretty good and they have a nice selection of entrees, so we thought we would give it a try. As an appetizer we got the Balsamic calamari. It was good because it was not overly greasy but I prefer when it has more than less balsamic glaze. This definitely had less. The fired sausage that comes with the calamari was actually better than the calamari itself. Nicely charred on the outside but flavorful. One of my friends got the rigatoni alla vodka. I wish they gave him some bread because it was a lot more sauce than it was pasta. Kind of disappointing. I had the Samantha salad, just ok, the mozzarella is cubed and not the freshest. Someone got a pizza, it was good, three stars quality. We’ve definitely had better but it’s not bad at all. Don’t get ½ and ½ toppings because they will charge you for two full toppings. They do make a Nutella pizza which looked really good but we passed on it.

I love this place and consistently have a good experience here. I think the food is really good, the vibe is good, & the décor is just right. I have nothing but good things to say about Ah’ Pizz. I tend to order the same items when I dine here but it’s so good, I can’t resist. My top 3 are the sausage pesto pizza, arancini, and the calamari with chorizo and hot cherry peppers. All so good! The sausage pesto pizza is flavorful with fresh mozzarell and an ample amount of pesto and sausage. The arancini was moist, oozing with cheese. The calamari is amazing, never tough with the right amount of heat from the chorizo and cherry peppers — never disappoints! Definitely check out Ah’ Pizz if you want a relaxing dinner with friends or on a date with a great bottle of wine!

If there’s a wait — leave. Leave right away. Totally and completely miserable experience with the hostess and seating. Told 15 minutes and walked out after 45 minutes after being repeatedly told we’d have the next table, we’d have the next table and lies and lies and lies. If you’re a regular here you’ll get seated immediately. No problem, just walk on in. Kisses and hugs galore for them as tables sat empty. Joe! Oh hey Joe. Yep come right in past these people waiting. Unfortunately, your hospitality for Joe lost you a customer. Was the hostess even the one determining who would sit or was she so whipped by the owner and his friends that she couldn’t do her job? The staff? Hugs all around. Kisses. Smooches. You’re family here! How about you get to work instead? Imagine how annoying it was to see tables sit empty as we sat and sat and sat. Even if they were reserved you could easily have turned them over. Were they short staffed? The hostess kept disappearing? And who was the girl randomly spinning around near the hostess sipping out of a water glass? An employee? Well she was useless. Unilocal may delete this review as it doesn’t involve the food — but we couldn’t even get that far because the service upfront was so dismissive.

Ah’ Pizz definitely deserves 5 stars! My friend and I came here last night for dinner. The parking in the lot right next to the restaurant is extremely convenient for being in Montclair. We were sat immediately, being it was a Monday night. The owner(manager?) was really welcoming and our waiter was very nice. The ambiance was pretty and the restaurant was filled with a variety of people: families, couples and friends. Once we ordered, our food came out in minutes!!! On to the best part… the food. I generally don’t eat cheese so the Marinara pie was perfect. I topped it with Spinach, Hot Peppers & Kalamata Olives. It also came with Garlic & Oregano on it. Honestly, it was perfect. The crust(my favorite part) was the perfect doughy consistency and all of the toppings were tasteful and not too salty. I loved the chopped garlic. The middle got a bit soggy from the sauce, but hey I’d rather have more sauce than too little. My friend ordered the Pizze di Montclair: Truffles, Porcini Mushrooms, Pecorino Sardo, Parmigiano-Reggiano, Grape Tomatoes and Wood-Fired Mushrooms. Of course, I had to pick at one of her slices and it was amazing. I cut off the crust and squished all the toppings inside and it was great. Honestly the perfect amount of Truffle to Mushroom ratio, and the tomatoes helped balance it all. We finished off with a delicious Nutella Pie. No regrets here. Devoured one slice each and took the rest home. It’s a blissful must.

I went here with a deal I got in the mail from ValPak: $ 24.99 for the following: — Insalata(Arugula, grape tomatoes, red onions, and shaved parmigiano-reggiano tossed in a peppercorn vinaigrette dressing) — Carrozza(Deep fried mozzarella-filled battered bread served with marinara) — Rigatoni Alla Vodka(Rigatoni, prosciutto, and shallots in a light pink cream sauce) — Pizza with mozzarella and basil Normally all this would cost around $ 45. Everything was delicious, except the rigatoni. The sauce was somewhat flavorless and the prosciutto wasn’t chopped finely enough, making it really difficult to chew. The ambiance is really nice if you opt to dine in, plus it’s BYOB. The parking situation is a little weird. If you encounter the complimentary parking side next to the restaurant, you’re pretty much parking in what appears to be tenant parking. You’re better off on the street.

Amazing all around. We started out with the fried calamari, fried mozzarella, and the goat cheese and ham balls. The food came out quick, hot and exceeded all expectations. For dinner I had the Mont Clare Special pizza and had them sub the Roma tomatoes for sausage and this pizza was one of the best I have ever had in Jersey. There was also so much sausage on the pizza I was shocked. Definitely no skimping here. Other diners at our table had the chicken parmigiano and it looked like 2 huge chicken breasts on top of pasta. The portions were definitely reflective of a true Italian eatery. There was also the vodka sauce pasta which I got to try and it was really good too. Again, huge portions. For dessert they make a s’mores pizza. They take a pizza dough, fill it with chocolate Nutella, cover it with crushed graham crackers and marshmallows and put it back in the pizza oven for a few minutes. It was so rich but so good at the same time. Definitely something the whole table should share. Lastly, byob. Take advantage of it, no cork fee either.

The ingredients in all of the dishes are very fresh. I love the Samantha salad which comes with mozzarella, roasted red peppers and artichoke hearts. The pizza is also fresh with a very natural tomato flavor. My favorite is the margherita pie. I love their eggplant rollatini appetizer and their chicken francese dinner is excellent(great sauce!). I recommend the fried calamari too! The big show stopper is their cannoli — it’s not only the best cannoli I’ve ever had but it’s one of the best desserts I’ve ever had(and I’m a dessert junkie!) The brioche bread pudding is a must try and their tartoni ice cream is excellent.
