This was, hands-down, the worst gluten-free pizza I’ve ever had. I actually thought I might get sick from the crust, which seemed undercooked. And yet the edges were burnt and almost hard enough break my teeth. If you can’t figure out how to make a halfway decent gluten-free crust(and I’ve been to many places that have), don’t make one.

Came with a large group; children and adults. Interior is tight but the servers were very accommodating and we maneuvered to fit everyone. We ordered 4 different pies, salads, pickled veg, and coal oven wings. I have to say all the food was definitely good. Margherita pizza was my favorite pie. Artichokes were delicious. Coal oven wings were my fav dish(ordered 2). However, service was a little off. We ordered a meatball pie that came out much later than everything else(they must’ve forgot) but offered to not bring it and remove from the bill. Of course we ended up just taking it bc… why not. The true downfall was in the vegetable pie(ordered for the vegetarian of the group). It’s packed with lots of veggies and at first bite she enjoyed it. However, after a couple of bites, she crunched on something not edible, only to find it was a small piece of glass. Now it’s understandable that accidents happen, however, when children are at the table as well, it was expected that the matter be made more serious. The waitresses(though young), pretty much brushed it off and made it seem like it wasn’t a big deal and/or we were losing our minds. We showed them the piece of glass, and she simply went on to say there’s no glass on the kitchen and it’s impossible it could’ve got there. We weren’t going to argue about not planting glass in the food, so she took the pie back, and off the bill. On most issues, such as wrong toppings or over salting or something it can be understood to take such a lax attitude towards the problem. But glass in food? With 3 kids sitting at the table. Sorry but won’t be taking my family there again regardless of how good the food that didn’t contain glass tasted.

I called ahead for a pie. It was around $ 24 for the large with pepperoni and mushroom. Parking is scarce on a Friday night and the heavy snow didn’t help. Inside its very small. I would not dine here in such a small for pizza. Credit card accepted. The pizza was good at home. The crust was still crispy.

Horrible experience and will never go back unless serious changes are being made for the future. First, the girl who answered and took our delivery order sounded like she was about 14 years old and seemed so confused about questions and details we had for our order. Second, they tell us about an hour for our delivery(we live about a block away) but we said ok they must be busy. After about an hour and 30 min I call back and the same girl answers and says oh we wrote the wrong number down so the delivery man cant call to tell you he is there. Like what if i did not proactively called? Would he had just waited until i woke up in the morning and got my early morning coffee? Next, the delivery boy who was also about 12 – 14 apologized and gave us our food. I asked if he had change and he said sorry he did not??? What delivery person not bring change around ??? Anyway, i find a way to pay him still giving a good tip and we go upstairs to eat our food. The pizza was an ice puck. Could have used it for the puck drop at the early morning pee wee hockey games the next day and the salad we got was completely the opposite of what we ordered. PLEASESTAYAWAYFROMTHISPLACEANDHEADSOMEWHEREELSE. I dont even think they care about their customers at all. We will never be going back, such a shame because we were looking forward to try this spot out for a long time.

I wish I could give –1 stars. Delivery was horrible. The employees answering the phones and delivering sounded/looked between the ages of 12 – 16. The girl who I ordered from did not know any questions asked, did not give the delivery boy the right number and got my order completely wrong. It also took over an hour to order when I live one block away, pizza was ice cold and salad ordered was completely wrong and was directly spiked into the trash can. Thank you for a waste of an overpriced $ 15 salad that went right to the trash. Hire people who know what they are doing.

Best pizza I have had in town. The white veggie is off the hook if you haven’t tried it you must. The Mushroom the artichokes the onions sweet red peppers this thing is great. Can’t say enough, absolutely love it.

Got a take out plain pizza from these guys and it was amazing. Perfectly thin and toasty, delicious sauce, melted cheese and a couple sprigs of basil. It was perfect. Absolute recommend.

This is a brick oven pizza place that is amazing. This is pizza you eat with wine, knife, and fork. Small spot, and they deliver now! The mushrooms are out of this world delicious. They sell them as a side bowl, if not on your pizza, that’s how amazing they are. Be sure to get the Joe(owner) or the meatball pizza.

Superb pizza. Got a half cheese half mushroom ricotta and it was excellent. Perfect thin crust you can really taste. Delicious but quite pricey.

Couldn’t wait for Star Tavern’s endless line, so came here on someone else’s Unilocal review. Glad I did — small location and got the window table! Great mixed salad ask oven baked wings to start. Ordered the plain pie with extra cheese, meatballs and pepperoni — coal oven baked to perfection. ½ went home — quite filling. Worth the trip on the 66 or 33 DeCamp bus — great neighborhood! Joe(the owner?) gave my sister his #17 shirt!

I’ve been here a few times with friends who are very granola, organic, health obsessed, Whole Foods kind of people, and they love this place. If you are one of those people, it certainly has a upscale/I don’t want to say pretentious, but something in that vein. They have«gluten free» all over their menu. If you are one of those people who think gluten is just the worst thing ever, then you’ll like it. I’m more traditional/old school and am happy with just pepperoni. The coal oven adds a nice flavor, but I am not personally into the specialty toppings and the kale salad(which was really not my cup of tea, especially for the price.) I think it’s decent pizza but it’s going to be appealing to a limited audience, and Montclair is probably the right place for it, but I found it too limiting and a bit pricey.

Mancinni’s is one of my top 4 pizza places. It’s in the ranks of Frank Pepe’s, Pete & Elda’s, and DeLorenzo’s tomato pies. I always order take-out and get a small classic and a small white mushroom pie because I like the contrast. So I hadn’t written a review because there really wasn’t much to add to what everyone else who enjoys Mancinni’s has said. This was until Friday when I ordered a Kale salad to go with the pizzas and asked for the dressing on the side. The man on the phone recommended not having the dressing on the side because they massage the kale when they prepare the salad. What pizzeria does that? I do that at home, but it totally floored me that Mancinni’s does that with their salads. The salad was really good. I’m also a fan of the cabbage salad. Nice work Mancinni’s.

Ranked #8 on the ‘Top 25′ for a recent ‘Pizza Power Rankings’ article on — «The Pizza Project 2015» needed to stealthily sneak into«NYC Lite»(aka — Montclair) and pretend we were part of the hip hustle and bustle. Is this place small? The WELCOMEMAT is only«Wel».(Okay, okay… that joke’s so old the last time you heard it the Dead Sea was sick… you fell off your dinosaur, you…) Enough tomfoolery… onto the review! It’s tiny and it ain’t too pretty(except for that stunning oven near the back that’s a perfect 10) but they are knocking out some unreal pizzas. We started with a homemade pickled salad thingy and it was… okay. But the pizzas? Sweet Baby JuJuBees — they are delicious. They’re thin but the crust is not cracker-hard. The plain/classic is no joke but as Peter G. from hyped — their mushroom pizza is out of this world. Not those standard ‘packed in water’ kind we all grew up on but real mushrooms. Big and bulky and beefy and so full of flavor it’s mind boggling how many they are able to fit onto a pie and that we ever blindly accepted pizzerias using those perfectly sliced and bland ones back in the day. BYO with a liquor store snug-as-a-bug-in-a-rug-next-store… you need to check it out(the pizza place — not the liquor store, you lush!). And you’ll probably end up making friends with someone waiting outside of Cuban Pete’s just a few storefronts down since that place is always booming as well.

I really wanted to fall in love with this pizzeria, as I LOVELOVELOVE coal fired pizza and my pizza to be well done. I came in and we were seated right away. I expected this place to be bigger and a little more fancier, as opposed to the smaller, seat yourself kind of atmosphere, but many restaurants in Montclair are small anyway. The girl in the front working the counter was so nice and sweet. The homemade lemonade was super delicious! I ordered a pizza to be well done. I got it and it wasn’t too well done like I expected from a coal pizza, but I’m not THAT picky so I was so excited to eat that delicious smelling pizza! It was thin crust, another exciting factor. However, the crust at the end was crunchy but as you got further into the center of the pizza and out, it was soggy and very greasy. I picked up the slice and it just fell apart. I was really bummed, as I was using this pizza as my cheat meal and expected it to be «amazing» like I’ve been told many, many times. It’s also VERY expensive for the area and the fact that it’s just«coal fired pizza» which to me, seemed like a regular pizza oven and nothing special. :\ Bummer… Would I go back? Maybe… but I know of other pizzerias in the area that make better coal fired pizza.

Very hard to miss, this hidden gem doesn’t disappoint. Been eating in and taking out pizza from them for a while now and its been constantly great. The oven which is right there in front of you in a tiny kitchen makes perfect pizza’s every time. The place is BYOB so don’t forget a bottle of your favorite Vino and enjoy. In the summer’s the place can get quite hot as the oven is right inside and the place is not large at all, thats when I prefer to get takeout. Otherwise stay inside if you aren’t in a hurry. The service is quick and very friendly there. Parking can get a pain, especially if there is an event nearby in Montclair, but if you drive a few blocks down there is usually parking there or in the back lot which is metered.

Its not the quality of the ingredients that is missing from Mancini’s it’s the love or maybe quality control. Pizza has taken a turn for the worse. The 90 second high temp D. O. C. crust is absent leaving the crust soggy. The balance is completely off with way too much cheese on the classic slice. Would like for it to go back in time to two years ago and not change the way the pizza is made.

My first impression was not good as the girl who took the order over the phone was short, unfriendly, and did not seem knowledgeable. We ordered a 16″ half classic and half mushroom. When she asked if we wanted it red or white, I asked for het opinion and she shortly replied, «I don’t know. I never had the mushroom.» Okay… So I guess the red/white sauce question was regarding the mushroom half? I decided to go with white. «if you’re doing half classic, you can’t do white.» Okay… then why was it even offered and why did you not own up to your mistake of telling me the wrong information? The husband picks up the pizza and the first thing he says is, «Jeez. The workers there look miserable. Just a bunch of high school kids who don’t care about being there.» I told him what had happened when I placed the order, and it all made sense. We opened the pie and it looked and smelled delicious. I took a bite into a slice of mushroom and fell in love. They must marinate the mushrooms in something delicious before cooking it on the pizza. The classic slice was so good! It was $ 27 for the whole pie and was worth every penny. The best pizza I have had yet!

Mancinni’s was recently listed as one of the top 25 pizzerias in NJ, so I couldn’t help myself but forego my usual weekend pizza joint to try this new(to me) establishment. Overall, it was a pretty good experience. The menu is small, so we decided to go with one of their specialty pies — the Joe — and it really was quite good. Not exactly cheap, but delicious. The ambiance of seeing the actual coal-fire oven is quite nice, and it didn’t take very long for the pizza to be made before it made its way into my belly. The 16″ pie was the perfect amount for two adults, with just 3 slices making the trip home for a round two. Since the place is small, seating is cramped. I saw a party of 6 come in and ask a couple to shift over one table so they could all fit. And the staff can seem a bit overwhelmed if multiple people come in at the same time and the phone rings. The only negative I’d say would be the price — $ 30 before tip for one pizza and one glass of lemonade. It’ll be an establishment to go back to for sure, just not a weekly occurrence.

I would go back. Got a margherita and a Joe for two people. This was too much food for two! That was okay — I didn’t know how spicy the Joe would be with the pepperoncinis. Turned out to be too much for my liking. I enjoyed the ambiance of the place. The herb salad with raisin bread was fascinating. The margherita was good. The ricotta/sausage(Joe) was good when it wasn’t too hot for me. I live thin-crust, and this was pretty thin! If I want to eat pizza while feeling like I am –40 years back in time, this is where I’d go. There is an old-time feel to restaurant that’s enjoyable. Tables are pretty close together, and we heard every single word of the people seated next to us. So, uh, if you like learning gossip about your neighbors while you eat your pizza. go to Mancinni’s! I kid, I kid. I think it’s a good place. Hope it survives in Montclair.

Omg so good! We ordered a large pizza, half classic and half Joe(sausage, ricotta and pepperoncini). It was amazing. I loved the thin brick oven crust and the flavors of both slices were delicious. We also got a side order of mushrooms that were great as well. It’s a pretty small place, not the best atmosphere and the menu does not go far beyond pizza but both things we ordered were fantastic. It’s a perfect place to come when you just want some really amazing pizza! I would definitely go back here.
