Express

Today, I went back and tried to return a pair of pants and the associate told me I don’t have the right receipt. Considering that this is the first purchase I’ve made with my Express card in a while, I told him that I do have the right receipt. After waiting about 15 minutes for the manager (Dominique– at least she told me she was the manager). She looked at the receipt and tag and told me they do not match, which is true. It looks like the associate from my first trip scanned the wrong item, I don’t see how that is my fault, unless it is now company policy for customers to do the jobs of your store employees. The price was the same but the numbers didn’t match. Needless to say, this isn’t over but I won’t be coming back.

Going into Express, I already knew exactly the type of outfit I was looking for (but wasn’t sure how easy it was going to be to find it). I needed something green for Saint Patrick’s day, but it had to also fit with a day-​to-​night scheme and as a kicker the event is in Iowa (cold!). I wish I got the woman’s name, but she was incredibly helpful right from the start! She asked if I needed help as soon as I walked in and seemed excited to help me with this challenge. Soon she was bringing me more options than I could have possibly imagined. She was also incredibly helpful and patient for the styling aspect of this search, since I am terrible at matching pieces together. Overall I had a great experience, and the search for a business casual green ensemble wasn’t all that bad!

I was going to give a 1 and then something magical happened (like finding a leprechaun hahaha). I was so annoyed at not getting proper help locating an item, then had to stand 5 deep in line waiting 20 minutes to pay for items that took me 10 minutes to pick out. SO ANNOYED. Then the magic happened. Jackie (is she the manager? if not, she should be) was so sweet when I got to the counter. She had been acknowledging the line and apologizing for the wait but I was still annoyed when I got up to the front to pay. She kept smiling, kept offering apologies, said that someone had called off and they were doing their very best. She told me about some specials that if I just bought one more I would actually save money on the 2 items. She honored a sign that was misplaced on some underwear even though I didn’t ask her to. She was genuinely so nice and so thoughtful that I believed she actually cared about my visit. Jackie made all the difference in the world to this review and the store management should acknowledge her — she’s fab!!!

I ordered my dress pant online from express and it’s too big. I came here to exchange but they didn’t carry 00s in store. I was a little sad and Lang was so helpful in helping me getting the pant I wanted. She was so patient, helpful, and sweet! Great employee and great customer service!

The employees are soooo helpful and nice here! The store was well organized and laid out, and there were a number of employees checking on me before, during, and after fitting room. It was a little intense, but also didn’t feel like attempts to sell me things so much as a desire to make sure I was happy. While that’s essentially the same thing in retail, I was pleased that they advised me on sizing and the benefits of different fabric types for their pants. They also ordered things for me at the store, which was great.

This express looks very spacious but the associates are a bit hard to find. It took me awhile to get a fitting room. While the service is friendly it is very slow.

I hate this express.
First off, the manager does laps around me trying to up sell me on everything. He’s this white fat guy in his mid forties (I wonder where did his life go wrong?). I like to be left alone when I shop and get in and get out. If you like to be efficient with your shopping, I don’t recommend this store. The prices here can be higher than the prices at the express in brea. The selection is grim here to say the least and they do not order much stock, so everything runs out fast. And it is odd how they have a lot of sizes in the extremes. They run out of normal sizes (like mediums or larges or 3 – 7) but they have a plethora of xsmalls or x larges. Because they order such few stock, there is barely any redlines, so don’t come here expecting great deals. On ugly clothing, they have huge discounts, but no one in their right mind would wear that shit. They might as well cut up the material for mops.
Oh, and returns can be a bitch here. Don’t even bother. Go somewhere else. I hate it when stores aren’t cool about returns. Not accepting returns shakes my confidence in their store and makes me much more hesitant on future purchases, which is why I dinged them so low on their rating.

This Express location is very clean, well stocked and organized. The staff is very personable and helpful (Gabby, Chuck, etc). They always help me put outfits together-​just ask, get my room started immediately so I don’t end up with red hanger marks on my arms. The selection/​stock is better than the Victoria Gardens location so I do prefer to shop here even though VG is closer. I absolutely love Express clothing, its great quality from the business clothing (slacks, blouses) to the rerock jeans and tops. Exchanges and returns are no problem even with no tag-​if you are not happy, just keep your receipt! I always get compliments on my clothing from Express. Even the jewelry is beautiful. The prices may be slightly higher than regular stores will not break the bank but worth every penny-​not bad with coupons so be sure to sign up for their mailing list on their website
