Food not very fresh. Slow service & bad courtesy. Price was about average. I will not be going again.

As far as I can tell, the place is now CLOSED down. Too bad. I enjoyed their Wednesday dinner buffet. Just tried the Natraj Palace in Bloomfield as an alternative Indian dinner buffet. Not as good. No papadum, no soup.

Got take-out at this unassuming restaurant. We were looking for Indian takeout that was good in quality but at a lower pricepoint than Brick Lane. Our food was ready in 15 minutes. Unfortunately, the chicken entrees we ordered were just ok, and my chicken korma was too salty without not enough of the other spices. Portions were small with an overload of rice compared to a much smaller portion of the actual entrée. I suppose if I had a real desperate craving for Indian on short notice I’d order here again, but I think I’ll try branching outside of the Montclair area for a viable alternative.

I have been going to satish palace for a few years now and while it is more of a takeout place than a dine-in restaurant I had never been disappointed. That was until the last two visits. On my second to last visit I went with a friend. She asked for dish slightly hotter than mild but when it came it was burning hot. In addition to this my dish came out missing the cauliflower. When I complained the waiter said that is how the dish is made, when I argued with him he went to ask the cook. It turns out I was right, they agreed to make me another dish. But… The dish never came out! We sat for 30 mins and no sign of my dish. We decided to leave without it. Then last Friday night I went with another friend. The food was decent but towards the end of our meal I saw a mouse crawl out from behind one of the booths. It crawled right into the dining area. I was disgusted and horrified. In general I think the food is good but I will NEVER be going back!!!

We went because i bought voucher from last year. The owner refused to accept it and said they dont take them anymore. I told him there is no expiration date and i will not pay full price and he needed to call the police. After some going back and forth he said he will take 1 entrée off. I told him i didnt pay for the voucher to have only half taken off. He finally agreed to honor the voucher after i started to dial the police. THEWAITERUSEDHISBAREHANDS in front of us at our table to pack the nun to go… absolutely disgusting. This was prior to them knowing we had a voucher. If this is what they do in front of u, i hate to imagine what they do when they r in the back. The food was good but i will never go back

Excellent buffet Wednesday afternoons. When new customers come in they cook more food so it is always fresh. Owner hovers over customers to be sure they are happy

Food is amazing. I would like to start off with that. HOWEVER the service is not so good. I used to go here all the time and get take out, but in more recent experiences, I have noticed that waiters don’t care about customers. I felt like the waiter was ignoring my table(there were only about three other tables so it wasn’t a busy night) and he was just not friendly. As for the restaurant its self, it’s dirty. I can’t believe they have a fly catcher right above the tables. There is a fly problem, but come on, a fly catcher with dead flies stuck to it?! It’s such a shame. They make the best paneer tikka masala on the block, but I’m too scared of what the kitchen conditions are like to order from them again.

This restaurant is closed for renovations… hopefully for good… last time we ate there, my shrimps were so rubbery you could bounce them in the air… this place use to be a mediocre alternative to Taj Palace(which burned down 5yrs ago), but now it’s usually near empty and they don’t seem to care. Oddly, their sister restaurant Iyotti, located in Wayne, NJ is pretty good.

Just finished eating a takeout biriyani. It’s soggy, no flavor and worst ever biriyani I have eaten. I doubt I’ll go back here again.

This has been out favorite local Indian for more than 10 years. They are not the fanciest and the interior is a little dark and dated by we just keep coming back because the food is always good. I have tried some of the other Indian places near by and they are fine but when we want delicious basic Indian this is almost always our go to spot.

Montclair has fantastic restaurants and this place is no exception. Great Indian Food. Authentic. I think. I have only ordered out so can only speak to the excellent vegetarian as well as meat dishes. The Vindaloo, Curry, Raita, Chhloe Sag… not sure I spelled it all correctly. All good. Yum. Try it. Medium Spice is Spicy.

*tandoori assorted appetizers(chicken was sooo dry! The shrimp were small and overcooked; the minced meat was probably my favorite even though that was also overcooked; There wasn’t too much flavor through the entire dish which was surprising since the coloring was so rich; this appetizer took forever to come out. I guess because they were busy overcooking the whole thing) *garlic naan(I liked the texture of the bread itself, there was a lot of fresh herbs on it which was nice but I think it was either cilantro or parsley that made me not enjoy it as much, I mean I’m just not a cilantro fan so people who love it wouldn’t mind it on the naan) *sag panir(I liked the texture of the dish and it goes well over the basmati rice; the panir itself wasn’t bad although too firm for my liking; the basmati rice was delicious!) *chicken biriyani(there’s a lot of stuff in this rice haha. green peppers, onions, chicken, raisins; I don’t understand the deal with raisins in biriyani because a lot of places add it, in this dish I honestly didn’t mind it as much; the chicken was fortunately not dry in this dish; the peppers were very soft. and entire dish was easy to chew in general haha; not my fave biriyani, I think Pakistani people do it better) The food was decent. Service was always pretty good, the waiter and manager were friendly and attentive. It was super quiet in the restaurant, I was surprised there wasn’t any music or Bollywood movies playing in the background. It was alright, wouldn’t say I’d necessarily go back

Lamb vindaloo was seasoned properly and spicy, but the consistency should have been thicker. The garlic naan was delicious but it came out warm, not hot. The fried paneer had six pieces with a dipping sauce that was again kind of watery. Bathrooms were clean. Menus needed to be cleaned.

Awesome indian food. Try the murg dingri(chicken curry), super tender chicken and incredibly tasty curry. I’ve come here probably over 30 times, and each time I cannot be happier with the food. The samosas are the bomb, service is chill, and prices are not too cheap, not too expensive — but juuuuuust right.

I love this place. I’m afraid to try other places because I’m afraid they won’t be as good. I love the MURGDANSIK! lots of good chicken chunks and no weird gelatinous pieces.

We we’re in the mood to try something different in the Bloomfield strip. It was worth taking a try in this restaurant despite the reviews. It’s kid and family friendly restaurant. The food is delicious especially one of the dish we ordered tasted so close to homemade. It was a vegetarian dish compose of cauliflower, chickpeas and potato… it was delicious. The malai kofta balls were hard, but the sauce for it was delicious. The peshwari naan was a hit, forget the rice. The naan was worth getting. As for the svc, it was very slow. We had to get a waiter to take our order, had to ask several times to refill our glass and our food took a while to come out. Despite the slow service, the food is worth coming back to.

My mom and I usually stop here if we want Indian food if we are in the area. We are never disappointed. Our favorite dishes include vegetable korma, panir masala, and chhole saag. We also like their garlic naan. Rice comes with their dishes. Service can be a bit strange and quirky. Also, medium spicy level here is serious business.

My bf and i went to Satish Palace a few weeks ago for lunch on the weekend around 3pm. we were quite hungry so we opted for the buffet as it would be fast. Much to our dissapointment, we found flies and gnats at the station where they keep the dessert and the various condiments. we still decided to go ahead with the hot food since we were hungry, but what a bad decision after sitting on one of the tables of the restaurant, the waiter casually asked us to move to another table as there were more ‘flies’ in the table we were sitting at. Going to the food: The food tasted so bad. Chicken tikka and chiken tandoori are the MOST basic of dishes in indian buffets. It didnt taste how it is supposed to be, in fact it was vile. I do understand sometimes indian food can be too hot or spicy for people, so a lot of indian restaurants make their food mild. But the food from this place didnt have any qualities that an authentic indian chicken tikka and tandoori should taste like. I wont even start with the other dishes… My bf and I felt squemish after we left and will NEVER come back again. It may taste fine to novice who does not know anything about indian cuisine, but for those who are indian and who know well about indian food, this place should be on a list of places to AVOID.

I never had Indian food until going to Satish so I can’t really say that the food is better than any other place. But what I can say that it is very yummy. And the 14.00 dinner buffet on Wednesday night is quite a deal, you get a pretty good selection at the buffet and its really wallet friendly. Service is good. Parking is a bit tricky especially now that the weather has warmed up. I usually park in the lot behind the theater or if I miraculously get a street spot, rarely happens.
