Craving chinese and just want it all? Pass on placing a phone order from here, that’s for sure. I ordered a chicken fried rice, kung pao chicken, walnut shrimp, and beef with chinese greens. EVERYTHING had absolutely no flavor! Wow. I can cook better chinese myself at home. It’s like they didn’t even bother to lift a finger to grab a spice bottle and throw it on the food. Never again… and that $$$ down the drain…

Will forever be a fan of this place. The quality of service & food has not changed since I was a little girl. My personal favorite is the the egg foo young and any of the combo deals. I always have enough to eat and still have food leftover for later. Tastes just as good when you warm up the leftovers at home. Pics to follow this review.

First time at Chinese Garden. Great service!!! Quick food, it must have only taken 5 mins to get it to our table. Friendly staff! The servers kept our water glasses full the whole meal. Orange Chicken– best I’ve ever had!!! Sweet and Sour Pork– amazing! Chicken Chow Mein with Pan fried noodles– a must!!! I recommend it!

I grew up eating at this joint, and i’m sure i’ll continue eating here until I’m super old. It’s good. is it as good as chinese gets? no. I can’t lie. but their egg rolls are out of this world. make sure you eat them while they’re hot, or you’ll be sorry. they’re big and crunchy and have chicken batter all up on them. mmmm. tasty. and I they’re crunchy noodles go great with the whole meal. I wouldn’t say to go out of your way for Chinese Garden, but if you’re in the area, stop by.

Had dinner here tonight and I’m very disappointed. I’d been wanting Chinese food for a while and since we were in a rush today didn’t want to drive the extra mile to go to Monterey Park. We ordered their dinner combos. When the chow main came it didn’t have noodles. As someone raised in Monterey park I’ve never had chow mein without noodles. The fried rice was white rice with soy sauce and nothing else. The bbq pork looked dry but it wasn’t bad. Two out of the three waitresses/ers they had sat to have their dinner in the empty tables. When a group of people came in, one of the waitresses greeted them with half a wing in her hand and the other in her mouth.

Update 2 pork fried rice with extra onion green onion and sweet and sour pork upgraded to sweet and sour chicken or sweet and sour shrimp! And there it is the perfect dinner

I was on way to pick up some custom made retro-fit windows in the area. In the meantime, it was lunchtime; and as a result, my son and I stumbled upon this place to have lunch. We had their lunch special; shrimp with a cream sauce and pork chow mein, fried rice, bbq spare rib and a side order of Mongolian beef and it was delicious!

Good old-fashioned Chinese food. New owner, same cook. Remodeled dining area with a separate room for big groups. Had the pork chow mein, pork fried rice and sweet-and-sour pork, very delicious and very old-school. Next time, I’m going with the bigger group, so we can also order some almond dark and shrimp lobster sauce.

I’ve been here many times. Food is always the same, always tasty, always good, always plentiful. Yes ownership has changed so of course there will be speed-bumps in the road. I have never seen a roach but maybe there are. But every food place will have them, guaranteed, it is just unavoidable. And when you have soo many restaurants in a row, right next to each other… whoa… You have Jack-in-the Box, the Boba place, that wings place, Ordenez, and La Costa it’s bound to happen. Overall, yes sometimes language is a problem but overall I would say this place is good.

You have to be crazy to eat at this place. San Gabriel news paper has reported that the place is infested with roaches. I don’t know about you but I like my food without roaches. Nasty places to eat at.

Haven’t been here in a while but been eating here since I was a kid, I’m 34 now. The place looks like it got a face lift, I wasn’t even sure it was the same place. Anyway, ordered the war won ton soup and chicken chowmein– both these dishes are delicious and what I feel separates this spot from any other place. There seemed to be a slight change to the taste– but all in all, we were happy and full. ANDTHEN A ROACHAPPEAREDCRAWLINGALONGTHEWALL, QUICKLY, TOWARDTHETABLE. Need I say anything else? Beyond sad and disappointed bcs like I’ve said I’ve been eating here my whole life. No way will I return– ever.

I’ve been coming here since the 70’s. It’s still my favorite Chinese food restaurant in the world! The Almond Duck with sweet & sour sauce is awesome, the crispy noodles with catsup and mustard are always a good way to start any meal here. The new management has really cleaned up this place nicely and Samantha is very kind. I miss the original owners but feel they have left this place in good hands. Thank you Chinese Gardens :)

I don’t know why this place is getting so many bad reviews because of the ownership. I’ve been coming here for many years and after the new ownership this place has improved tremendously! The new owners have taken the time to remodel the place and clean it up before them this place used to look dirty and that’s what made us stop coming for awhile. The food taste the same as before new dishes were added but service is still great maybe even better. Before the old owners used to stand around and be loud and argue in front of customers. So I’m glad this place has new owners and they should keep up the good work in remodeling and cleaning up the place.

This is my first Unilocal review and I am sad to have to do this to CG. My family has been coming here for 20 years and myself and to mention my aunt had to go to another table to give us our utensils and teacups, about 15 minutes to even get our order down. I ordered side of walnut shrimp and when it came out I got almond shrimp I then told the lady that the order was wrong and I would like my order to be fixed. she then said to me that they can’t be doing that because they’re wasting money. After a little argument she told me to say that I was wrong and she will give me the order right and to not do it again. I stood stunned and shocked. I went with it so I can get my food already. I had lost my appetite at that point and upset. I miss the old staff and management bring back Richard!

Terrible. Bland, over salted food. Expensive too! Would throw it away and order from somewhere else if I wasn’t so hungry. Chicken they use has more water in it than Mcdonalds nuggets! And there’s hardly any chicken in my dish! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, Chicken mcnuggets are mostly water, that’s why they are so cheap and have fewer than expected calories. Avoid Chinese Garden!

my favorite place to eat Chinese food. I always get the sweet n sour shrimp or sweet n sour chicken, which comes with rice, and the egg foo young. It is really good and I have never gotten sick from there food as I often due at other Chinese food places! +++ the service can be a bit slow here sometimes, as it is family owned and the servers are older, but other than that, once you place your food order it comes out fairly quickly this place dosent look like much from the outside and the interior is terribly outdated but the food is excellent! don’t judge a book by its cover!
