Came here 30 mins before closing. It was my first time, I felt very rushed out. My eyebrows still had hair that should have been taken out. I will stick to ziba.

I went to Maya Montebello because of the decent reviews on Unilocal.I usually go to Ziba in Montebello but it is expensive. There was a guy at the Maya Montebello who did my eyebrows and he was nice but messed up my eyebrows. I couldnt say anything because whats done is done. The good thing is my eyebrows grow back very fast so I dont have a problem with that. I havent had anyone else do my eyebrows there a but I honestly dont think I will go back there. Just beware, if you go there. If you have a place you already look then just keep going there.

The guy that works there is a miracle worker. I always put off doing my eyebrows for a while but when I go in he makes them look great!

I went to try out this place since I was stopping at a nearby store… I saw this guy sitting so I thought great there’s a wait, well he was actually the person working, so ok. I sign in, he gets to work, I did not notice or hear a cell phone as other reviews said, BUT when he gave me the mirror to take a look, I could clearly see all the hair wasn’t gone. I just paid and left, I’ll do the rest myself at home. I had some wax strips in my cabinet & good thing I did because there was a lot of hair left… I think I’ll stick to my regular place that I’ve been going for threading.

The store was completely empty when I went in, but it still took the guy a few seconds to acknowledge my presence and ask me to sign in. He was busy on his phone, I think. He barely spoke to me the entire time. He verified with me that I just needed a clean-up, which was nice, and then did my brows quickly and pretty painlessly. The space was clean, but I did not notice if he sanitized/cleaned his hands or anything before starting. The price is unbeatable($ 7 for eyebrows) and it’s within walking distance from my house. There is always parking and the space is quiet and clean and you get in and out quickly. However, I’ve definitely had better customer service from other(albeit pricier) places. While I’m glad to have gotten my brows cleaned up for less than $ 10 including tip, there’s something just slightly off about the shape that is still bothering me.

Been a regular for a few months. and in the beginning I loved the service, cleanness and results. Until recently. I walked in Monday morning just to get my upper lip done since I was to lazy to pluck myself. Anyway hoo as soon as I parked I noticed a new employee(male) at the counter didn’t think much since all I needed was my lip. While I’m signing in this guy is texting and his phone is going off playing explicit nicki minaj. I love nicki but that was clearly unprofessional. While he responds to his text he tells me what chair to sit in. He finally puts the phone down sanitizes his hands and gets to work i could tell right away he wasnt getting all the hairs and when he handed me the mirrior to check i asked if he could remove the ones he missed keep in mind while im being threaded his phone continued going off the entire time. After one last check in the mirror I decided to just say okay gave him the $ 5 and went home to pluck what he missed. If I would have known that I was going to end having to go home and tweeze I would have saved my $ 5 and gas. If you do decide to come here. make sure it’s the older lady and be clear that you just want a clean up or else you’ll walk out with really thin eyebrows. Also if u want new perfect brows ive recently been going to the benefit brow in Macy’s it’s $ 20 but I love love love my results! Ask for Andrea

I came here on June 4, 2011. It was my first eye brow threading experience and it turned out to be great. I came here with my sister and we both wanted to get our eyebrows threaded. My eyebrows were super bushy since I hadn’t groomed them in 2 months. I was a bit nervous, but the lady was done in 10 minutes and it actually didn’t hurt. I could feel the obvious tugging of hair but it wasn’t bad. I was very pleased at how clean my eyebrows looked and also the shape. My sister really liked her eyebrows too. Also, the place was fairly clean too. Will be coming back!

Back in the olden days(like 5 years ago), a guy risked becoming a «metrosexual» if he got his eyebrows threaded. Today, it is as main tream as waxing is for girls. SOGETWITHTHEPROGRAMGUYS! You don’t have to be a girl, gay or Greek to get your brows shaped! For years, my sister and mom for bugged and begged me to blaze through the«happy trail» above my eye. Though typically a reluctant soul, I relented after years of ridicule. The first time I got my brows worked on, acquaintances immediately inquired, «did you get a haircut?» or «did you lose weight?» or my personal favorite«Your eyes look bigger!»(a real winner, particularly for Asians) THAT, my friends, is all I needed to hear to keep my trails trimmed! I’ve been to several threading places before, with good results, but I passed by Maya’s one day and noticed that they only cost $ 7(with the 10th visit free), so how could I not try out? The shop is a simple mom and pop store, nothing hip or gimmicky like«scandalous», or «ziba.» I admit that the first time I got worked on at Maya’s, they made my arches so acute, that I looked like a Asian Count Dracula from Sesame Street whose fashion consultant was the same as David Navarro’s(Carmen Electra’s Ex) !!! I explained to her that I only want to to look«natural.» She warned me that I she would have to «bush whack» a lot of hair off my face, but being that I have so much overgrowth, it is practically a fire hazard, so it is a necessary evil. After shedding a few more tears, she ended up doing a very good job. I am not quite sure if this is one of the«best of all time» type of job, but I was very happy with it. All in all, it is a good value, and is in my hood, so I have been back every few weeks. I wish it was a little busier, because I always seen only one person working at a time. This is really unfortunate because if they have two people waiting, it kinda takes awhile to get service. The only reason why I am not giving this a five star is because I just want to go in and out as there is nothing especially fun or engaging about this place.

I’ve actually never been here, but there is no Unilocal profile for the one in Monterey Park that I go to and I know they are the same owners so I’ll show some love here… They do a good job with the brows, the place is kinda cute and they are the cheapest I’ve ever encountered for threading, plus they give you a frequent buyer card like one threading free after 10 or something like that. Its also great that its closer to me than any other threading place I’ve been to.(Atlantic just north of Riggin, by the Ralphs)

My new favorite eyebrow place! The woman who helped me was so friendly, and took the time to explain more about how to better care for my eyebrows. Price was much cheaper than places like Ziba’s, and I felt like the quality was better for me. She did a great job.
